The Nara Jōnin glanced at the ninja circling around Kairen.
"Looks like Sunagakure came prepared. Their target is—Moku Kairen!"
Shimura Masao stood with his arms crossed, silently watching, then interjected: "Moku Kairen was once captured by Sunagakure. That night when their main camp was attacked—it must have been him."
The other clans considered this. If that was true, then this descendant of the Senju Clan was a rare genius, his merits no less than an Elite Jōnin.

Maire immediately shouted: "Nichifu, calm down! His chakra reserves are massive, and his regeneration is strong. Killing him like this is pointless."

His comrades nodded, and two more Special Jōnin rushed forward.
Wielding sharp blades, they slashed, severing Kairen's two arms.
Armless, Kairen couldn't form seals—but he instantly detonated an explosive tag on his chest.
"Boom!"
With a thunderous explosion, the two Special Jōnin leapt back to avoid the blast.
White smoke reformed, and Kairen, dressed in white, stood with his hands on his hips, looking down arrogantly.
"Sunagakure, I'm not fighting back. I'll let you attack freely. If you can kill me, then you're strong."
Jōnin Maire ignored his words, analyzing instead: "As the intel said, he can summon explosive tags. We have to immobilize him instantly."
"I'll do it!"
A puppet master, his face painted with clan markings, stepped forward, a beast-shaped puppet strapped to his back.
