Chapter 66 - Chapter 66: Wizardry

Kairen suddenly realized the meaning behind Tsunade's nickname as the "Fat Sheep."

She almost always lost when gambling. During that muddled, wandering period of her life in the village, gambling had been inevitable, and naturally, she had accumulated quite a bit of debt.

Kairen then realized his own predicament—Tsunade pulling him into the Senju clan was nothing short of a giant pitfall. There was nothing there, and in the future, he would have to face debt collectors alongside her.

Kairen chuckled. In the Infinite Resurrection System's exchange space, currency was the least valuable thing. Just one experience point could be exchanged for tens of thousands of ryō, equivalent to thousands of RMB in his past life.

As for whether this would cause inflation—what did that have to do with Moku Kairen?

Kairen immediately exchanged for the common currency of the shinobi world, pulled out a massive stack from his ninja tools pouch—one hundred thousand ryō in total, worth about six thousand RMB in his past life.

Tsunade's eyes went wide, locked onto Kairen's money.

"Where did you get this money?"

"Of course, from the battlefield!"

"From the battlefield?! Ninja fighting to the death on the battlefield still carry money with them?!"

"Don't worry about such details!"

Kairen handed her one thousand ryō.

"From now on, if you run out of money, just come to me. I, Moku Kairen, have more than enough cash."

"Bluffing!"

Tsunade snatched all the money from Kairen in one go.

"I'm your elder sister now, so all your money is under my care!"

She drew out twenty bills and handed them to him.

"Here, go have some fun."

Kairen was speechless.

"You woman, even stealing money from a child like me… I can't imagine what you wouldn't dare to do in the future!"

"Quit whining! You've already taken plenty of advantage of me—this is just my way of reclaiming compensation!"

Kairen pouted, then smirked with his usual shameless tongue.

"Didn't you say you're drowning in debt?"

"Yeah, so what?" Tsunade nodded.

Kairen's words were sharp.

"Then once I pay off all your debts in the future, doesn't that mean your ass belongs to me?"

"You little brat!"

Tsunade threw a heavy punch, but Kairen dodged immediately and dragged Shizune and Yūhi Kurenai off to go shopping.

That woman Tsunade—no doubt she'd use his money to gamble.

...

Yūhi Kurenai grumbled at Kairen's lack of respect in front of Tsunade, tugging his ear.

"Kairen, you can't be so rude to Tsunade-sama in the future! She's the one who'll have to protect you. If you make her angry, there'll be no one left to watch over you!"

"Alright, alright, fine…" Kairen agreed reluctantly.

Kurenai's eyes suddenly lit up. She pointed at a nearby stall selling candied hawthorns.

"Kairen, Kairen, I want that one! That one!"

She grabbed Kairen's hand and dragged him over at a run.

Shizune followed behind, her eyes dimming as she watched Kurenai's intimate gesture of holding Kairen's hand.

Sure enough, Kairen still couldn't let go of Kurenai—after all, he had chased her for such a long time back in the Ninja Academy.

A heaviness sank in her chest, her steps slowing, and soon the distance between her and the two widened.

Kairen bought Kurenai a skewer of candied hawthorns, then two more—one for himself, and one he turned around and held out.

Shizune was far behind, almost as if there was some invisible barrier between them.

Kairen ran up quickly, thrusting the candied hawthorn toward her.

"Here, Shizune!"

Shizune stared blankly at Kairen's delicate face framed by black hair, then slowly reached out to take the skewer. Kairen grabbed her other hand.

"Don't just stand there like that. Whatever you want, I'll buy it for you."

Shizune gently bit into the candied hawthorn, sweetness instantly flooding her heart. After being separated for a while, Kairen hadn't forgotten her after all.

Kurenai, I won't lose to you!

...

Yūhi Kurenai's curiosity sparked again as she looked at the large crowd gathered up ahead.

"What are they doing?"

Kairen tugged both girls forward quickly, letting go of their hands as they squeezed through to see.

Boom!

A puff of white smoke erupted. In the center of the street, a wandering shinobi was constantly transforming—one moment into a monkey, the next into a rooster—changing endlessly, drawing rounds of applause from the crowd.

Clap clap clap—

Kurenai shook her head.

"I thought it was something impressive. It's just the Transformation Jutsu!"

Transformation Jutsu was one of the most basic techniques taught in the Ninja Academy. Though technically a genjutsu, it was a real illusion visible to everyone, essentially a ninjutsu method of bending light—like a mirage.

It was a very low-level technique. Experienced ninja could easily tell the difference between illusion and reality.

It was nowhere near as useful as the Shadow Clone Jutsu. Shadow Clones created actual entities of chakra that not only reproduced the user's clothes, weapons, and tools but even retained their original destructive power.

...

Watching the wandering shinobi perform, Kairen was suddenly struck by a powerful inspiration.

If Shadow Clones could become real, tangible objects, then why limit himself to humanoid forms? Why not transform into Tsunade, or a grown-up Kurenai, or Shizune…

That way, he could do whatever he pleased—and still get a real, authentic experience.

I'm a transmigrator, aren't I? I can't let my mind be bound by the locals. I need to indulge a little!

Slap!

But Kairen suddenly smacked himself across the face. Messing around with his own chakra like that—it just felt wrong. Wouldn't that be no different than, in his past life, "taking care of himself" alone?

I've already transmigrated with cheats—how can I act so pathetic? I'd be disgracing the whole transmigrator profession.

Kairen tried not to let his thoughts drift toward that direction.

Still, he could use the Shadow Clone's real transformation ability for all sorts of things—for food, clothing, entertainment, even riding mounts…

He could even become a bird soaring through the skies, or a dragon unleashing boundless flames.

The more Kairen thought, the more inspired he became, gradually sinking into his own daydreams, letting the two girls drag him off elsewhere.

...

Kairen quickly entered the system space, narrating his newfound idea.

The system responded:

"The host's inspiration is not impossible. However, maintaining a perfect form consumes enormous amounts of chakra, and your chakra control must reach an even higher level. Additionally, any form you wish to transform into must first be recorded and fully understood in structure to achieve perfection."

Transforming into non-human forms would require constant chakra flow. But ninja generally didn't have much chakra—who would be foolish enough to burn through it nonstop?

And it was dangerous. If chakra was overused and depleted, the person would die.

But this limitation didn't apply to Kairen. His chakra was nearly infinite. Even if it were depleted, he could die, resurrect, and start again.

"System, do you think this technique can actually be developed?"

"It can. But according to the host's requirements, this technique will be classified as a Forbidden Jutsu. To unlock it, you must exchange for a Forbidden Jutsu Development Card, increase your chakra control to 500%, and master Yang Release nature transformation!"

"No problem!"

Kairen immediately acted. Spending 1,000 points, he boosted his chakra control to 500% and upgraded his Yang Release Chakra Nature Transformation as well.

At this level of control, Kairen felt he had reached an entirely new realm. His chakra manipulation surpassed even some Kage-level shinobi.

He even felt as though he could project chakra threads and easily control others—like some kind of tentacle monster.

On Kairen's development template, many jutsu had now shifted from requiring hand seals to becoming seal-less ninjutsu.

It proved that from now on, Kairen wasn't playing ninja anymore—he was playing wizardry!

And unlike them, Kairen didn't even need a wand. With just a snap of his fingers, anything he desired would appear. His template was now a low-budget version of Thanos.
