Moku Kairen extended the flow of his chakra through chakra threads, granting the Rasengan a property of long-range projection.
His killing intent spread like an eagle swooping down on a rabbit, locking onto the sealing ninja below.
"Let's see if you can handle a flying Rasengan!"
Kairen, like a puppeteer, snapped his fingers and released the Rasengan.
The sealing ninja's face changed. He quickly retreated while two Jōnin by his side stepped forward to shield him.
Escape? Once Kairen-sama decided someone must die, where could they possibly run?
Kairen's fingers twitched, and the Rasengan shifted position in the sky, relentlessly tracking the sealing ninja.
Pakura didn't stay idle. Her hands formed seals, and she released a blazing orb of Scorch Release straight toward Kairen.
Kairen flapped his wings, dodging Pakura's scorching flames.
His fingers danced like those of a nimble pianist—bending, twisting, chasing the sealing ninja's movements without pause.
Standing atop his gray hawk, a Special Jōnin's eyes widened in horror at the sight of Kairen's five chakra threads.
"That's... the Fiery Cloud? His chakra control is even greater than our puppet masters!"
The two Jōnin continued to shield the sealing ninja.
Kairen's five fingers suddenly clenched—five Rasengan spheres hurtled down, ready to crash into the sealing ninja's back.
One Jōnin shouted quickly, forming seals: "Wind Release: Great Breakthrough!"
A powerful whirlwind surged upward, pulling the Rasengan into it. But with a flick of Kairen's finger, one Rasengan shot free, slamming directly into the sealing ninja's shoulder.
The violent rotational force twisted and tore his shoulder apart, shredding it into a mangled spiral of flesh.
The sealing ninja spun several times before crashing into several bamboo trunks. Pain distorted his face, and blood vessels burst in his eyes.
Pakura's expression darkened at the sight. Her fists clenched tightly as hatred flared in her gaze.
"You brat! If you've got guts, come down here!"
Kairen smirked. "Why should I listen to you? Just because your chest muscles are bigger than mine?"
"You little bastard!"
Pakura ground her teeth in fury and clapped her hands together, releasing a massive Scorch Release fireball.
"Go to hell!"
The blazing orb roared toward him like a storm.
But Kairen didn't dodge or flinch. He merely ran a hand through his hair as the fireball closed in, as if the searing heat was nothing more than a toy.
The fireball exploded, and waves of scorching air surged upward.
The bamboo forest erupted in flames, and the creatures within fled for their lives.
In their hearts, they cursed these warring humans. Couldn't they fight somewhere else?
Truly, when gods fight, it's the beasts that suffer!
"Ding!"
"You were killed by Pakura using Scorch Release. EXP +300!"
Kairen resurrected and dove again from above.
The Sunagakure ninjas hurled shuriken toward him, but Kairen flapped his wings and easily evaded the attacks.
Low-level shuriken? Not even worth his attention anymore.
He dove straight toward Pakura.
A Sunagakure ninja, his arm still broken from earlier, shouted, "Pakura, watch out!"
Pakura sneered, arrogance flashing in her eyes.
"Come then, Moku Kairen!"
Kairen dove from the sky as Pakura gathered chakra.
"Scorch Release: Great Fireball!"
She hurled the massive orb upward.
Kairen pierced through it, his body instantly vaporized by the heat. But within moments, he resurrected midair, spinning his wings to close in again.
Pakura drew a kunai and slashed swiftly toward him.
Kairen moved like a ghost, but this time, her blade grazed his throat.
"Ding!"
"You were killed by Jōnin Pakura. EXP +100."
A puff of white smoke erupted. Pakura instinctively leaped back—only for Kairen to rush in again from another angle.
All the remaining Sunagakure ninjas surged toward him in unison.
...
"Ding!"
"You were killed by Jōnin Junpei using Wind Release. EXP +100!"
"Ding!"
"You were killed by Special Jōnin Enten using Wind Release. EXP +90!"
"Ding!"
"You were killed by a mid-level summoned beast using Wind Release. EXP +50!"
Kairen toyed with them like a cat playing with mice, drawing out the fight to grind EXP.
Before long, he had accumulated 4000 points.
Pakura lunged forward again, kunai gleaming.
By battle logic, Kairen should've stabbed her first—but instead, he raised a hand and caught her delicate wrist.
Pakura's chest heaved as sweat glistened on her skin. She frowned at his resistance.
"You... you're fighting back?"
This woman had killed him countless times—did she really think he was some kind of masochist?
A cold smile curved at Kairen's lips.
"Playtime's over. It's your turn to die."
"Eight Gates: Four Gates, open!"
A torrent of green energy burst from his body. Four chakra gates opened in an instant, and a layer of red, fox-like chakra enveloped him.
Kairen had entered full-power combat mode.
The surging chakra aura washed over the Sunagakure shinobi. Sweat poured down their faces as they stared at him in disbelief.
Junpei, his arm already severed, let out a bitter laugh.
"That chakra... he hasn't even used any till now?! Rasa really did send us here to die!"
A comrade beside him struggled to his feet and swallowed a soldier pill.
"Run. That guy cut through a thousand of our troops before—how could we possibly win?"
Snap!
Kairen flicked his fingers.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom—!
In an instant, the entire bamboo forest filled with white-clad shadow clones.
1,500 shadow clones had entered the battlefield!
"Now then—where exactly are you all planning to run?"
The Sunagakure ninjas raised their eyes.
Hundreds of winged clones hovered above them in the sky—an aerial force.
Kairen flicked his right hand, sending Pakura tumbling backward several meters.
"H-How... how is this possible?!"
Pakura forced herself up, trembling as she looked at Kairen slowly levitating higher. The army of shadow clones surrounded them on all sides, sealing every escape route.
"We're... fighting a monster..."
A terrified Sunagakure ninja dropped to his knees, his pupils filled with helplessness and despair.
"Ninjas are still human. And humans—when faced with power—will always realize how small they truly are. Humans... will always look up at the sky."
Kairen crossed his arms and spoke softly, his mocking gaze sweeping down over them.
Pakura's face turned pale. Her light-brown eyes burned with defiant resolve.
"Stand up! Don't be afraid of him!"
Kairen's voice echoed down from above.
"You all must know by now—you've been betrayed, haven't you? I'll give you one last chance... cut your own foreheads, and I'll let you live!"
Among all the Sunagakure ninjas Kairen had faced, not one had ever begged for life—except for Ōmori Kawa, who was terrified of ghosts.
He genuinely wanted to see if these shinobi truly possessed the 'Will of the Desert' they so often preached.
"..."
Silence. Not one responded.
That silence meant only one thing—they had all embraced death.
Kairen stared at them for a dozen seconds before saying quietly,
"Even after your village's betrayal, you still cling to that sand in your hearts, don't you?"
Still, silence.
"I see."
He raised his hand like a commanding general.
"Send them on their way."
His palm fell.
The shadow clones surged forward in a white tide, swallowing the Sunagakure forces whole.
Hovering high above, Kairen gazed silently at their final struggles.
Only Junpei, his arm missing, managed to destroy two shadow clones before the wave engulfed him—his body pierced by dozens of chakra-enhanced shuriken.
