Chapter 308 - Chapter 308: Sincerity Can’t Buy Hearts, but Speed Can Buy Sounds

The boss wasn't wrong—Kairen could eat even more than a pig. His mouth never stopped, yet his belly never bulged.

The boss's whole family had to come out together just to keep up with Kairen, this big eater.

Only when the table couldn't hold any more did Kairen stop, letting out a satisfied breath.

"So good!"

Kairen possessed an Ōtsutsuki sage body; ordinary food simply couldn't replenish his energy, so of course he had to eat a lot.

The boss wiped the sweat from his forehead. Even though it was exhausting, Kairen's single order was worth a whole week's work.

After paying the bill, Konan grabbed Kairen and left.

"Don't walk so fast. I need to digest."

Konan pulled Kairen into a corner and asked him,

"What are Obito—or Uchiha Madara—really after? Are they using us behind the scenes?"

Kairen picked his teeth and nodded.

"You're not dumb. Obito really is using you. You're collecting the tailed beasts to create a balance under nuclear deterrence, while Obito and Madara want to change this world's production structure."

"How would they change it?"

Kairen explained to Konan, "Let everyone live in a fake world, getting drunk and dreaming every day… totally wasted."

"Fake?" Konan was puzzled.

"Yeah. Simply put, it's a super-large-scale genjutsu."

After learning the truth, Konan instead felt a bit at a loss. "So everything they're setting up is just to make everyone dream."

Kairen nodded. "Right! Do you want to spend eternity with me in a dream?"

Konan almost didn't hesitate. "No."

"Woman, don't answer so decisively. When you sleep, I can make you happy."

Konan gave a cold laugh and flew straight toward her room.

Kairen followed, looking at Konan's snow-white profile.

"Now that you know Obito and Madara's goal, what do you want to do?"

Konan looked at the gloomy Rain Hidden Village, and the people stepping through puddles in the rain.

"The Land of Rain is a country that cries, but it doesn't need to beg for sunshine through dreams."

Konan's answer was straightforward, full of disdain for Obito and Uchiha Madara's goal.

Nagato's Ten-Tails deterrence was still better than their rotten idea.

Kairen nodded.

If he were a normal person, he wouldn't agree to the illusion Obito and Madara wanted to bring, let alone that future still being Black Zetsu's Trojan horse.

If letting Kairen have spring dreams every day were the case, he might consider it. With over 90% realism, he wouldn't even need to think—he'd start the Eye of the Moon Plan and become a brainless stud.

...

Soon, Kairen and Konan arrived at the highest tower of the Rain Hidden Village.

Konan entered the room. Kairen followed, but a layer of paper wall blocked him back.

Konan clearly didn't want to invite the wolf into the house.

Kairen knocked on the door. "Konan, are you kicking me out? Don't be so heartless!"

"Get back to your desert. If Nagato finds out, you won't be able to bear the consequences."

Kairen replied, "Don't worry! I can handle you. Don't be so impatient."

"Pervert!"

"Konan, you're really heartless. I told you Obito and Madara's plan, and now you want to kick me out.?"

Konan stopped replying. She was afraid that if she said more, her IQ would drop.

Kairen sighed. In this world, where is there such a thing as sincerity buying hearts? There's only speed buying sounds.

Kairen sneered. How could a mere door stop a hungry wolf from hunting?

He turned into a puff of white smoke and entered Konan's boudoir.

Konan was trying on the dress she had just picked and was looking at herself in the mirror.

It was her first time wearing a dress, and it felt a bit fresh.

Suddenly, a wolf's shadow appeared beside her.

Konan shot Kairen a look. "You really are thick-skinned. I told you not to come in, and you still barged in."

Kairen looked at Konan's new outfit with full appreciation and greed.

She looked even more beautiful in a dress, full of youthful vitality, like a vibrant female college student.

Perfect for Kairen to keep.

Kairen's wolf-like gaze made Konan uncomfortable. She scolded him,

"Is that how you look at women?"

Kairen retorted, "This is a gaze of appreciation, a gaze of discovering beauty. Don't take it as the eyes of a lecher."

"Hmph!"

Konan ignored Kairen and flipped through the gift boxes piled by the bed.

They were things Kairen's shadow clones had sent from the clothing store.

Konan suddenly pulled out a dog leash from a box and looked at Kairen strangely.

"This is a dog's leash. You bought the wrong thing, didn't you?"

Kairen was a bit stunned. The clothing store owner really played wild, huh!

Konan also felt a whip, and some ropes and torture devices.

Konan glared at Kairen. "Look at the stuff you bought!"

Kairen sighed in relief. Luckily, Konan was still a newbie who didn't understand anything and would skid when turning.

If her mind were any dirtier, he'd be the one crawling out today.

Kairen sat down, leaned beside Konan, threw away all those messy things, wrapped an arm around her waist, and smiled.

"Want it?"

Konan was puzzled. "Want what?"

"Wolf-like wildness, lightning-like passion, tiger-like charges."

Konan understood a little. In short, Kairen was lusting after her again.

She immediately grabbed Kairen by the ear.

"Is there anything in your head besides women?"

Kairen explained, "Actually, there's still a little knowledge. Not much. Just a tiny bit."

"Hmph!"

Konan brushed away Kairen's hand, wanting to chase him out but feeling a bit powerless.

This guy was lustful like a wolf, but his abilities were enormous. This small door couldn't stop his heaven-reaching skills.

As for shame, forget it. Kairen was someone who had no face to lose.

Konan didn't react for a long time, and Kairen started to make a move.

"Watch my hands!"

"You! (๑°⌓°๑)"

...

In the rain-soaked tower, the mortal world was like poetry; murmured words turned into cicada calls, wave after wave…

After Kairen finished doing push-ups, Konan finished doing squats; both had sweat on their foreheads.

Konan tugged at the "beans" on Kairen's chest and said resentfully, "This is the last time. I'll never let you succeed again."

Kairen rubbed Konan's hair and smiled.

"Once and again, and again—how many times is 'once'?"

"Hmph!"

Konan couldn't out-argue Kairen. She drew circles on his chest, then seemed to notice something.

"Damn it, your skin is even better than mine. Tell me—did you change your skin?"

Paying money to top up skins? What a joke. I never fall for Tencent's tricks.

Kairen looked at the ceiling and smiled.

"This is evolution at the level of life. Of course it's different from mortals. Look at yourself in the mirror—after getting my life, you've changed too."

Konan turned to look at the mirror.

Just as Kairen said, she looked radiant, as if she had become several years younger.

Konan muttered, "So it can be like this!"

Kairen scraped her little nose. "Silly girl, only I'm special, because my body has transcended mortals. If an ordinary person did this, they'd have been stuck to the wall long ago."

Konan mocked Kairen. "Transcended mortals? You're even more lecherous than mortals. Even if you were an immortal, you'd be a lecherous immortal."

"A lecherous immortal already has someone certified. It wouldn't be appropriate for me to take that role."
