Brunhilde reached the southern part of the forest, her boots silent despite the distance she'd covered.
Before her rose thick barriers of roots that were interwoven so densely that no gaps existed between them.
She chuckled at the sight.
The sound was light, almost musical, carrying amusement rather than concern. She stretched out her hand, leading to a massive spear appearing in her hands.
The eight-foot spiral-shaped weapon with decorative gold wings and sword symbols running along its length cracked with blue light.
Gripping the spear, Brunhilde began her assault.
She thrust forward, leading the spear to pierce through the roots before blue flames erupted at the point of impact. The explosion tore through the wood, creating a gap twenty feet wide before the roots could regenerate. She spun the spear horizontally, the blade sweeping in a perfect arc, and more blue flames burst out.
Explosions followed the weapon's path, each one obliterating sections of the barrier.
