Scáth's final story ended with her grinning wickedly at the memory of a particularly close call. The fire had burned lower now, coals glowing orange-red, heat still radiating, but the flames themselves reduced to occasional flickers.
Reinhard laughed at something Bruno said, the sound genuine and relaxed. Then he paused, head tilting slightly as a thought surfaced. "So I learned something interesting recently."
