Chapter 324 - Chapter 324: Hope for Mission Completion

"Damn it! What is it this time?!" Enjou jumped back a step, dodging a dishonorable sneak attack from behind.

Seeing Enjou's clean and swift movements, the Sergeant not only didn't stop his attack but also signaled his companions behind him to surround Enjou.

"Brothers, attack him! This scoundrel must be a lone resistance captain. Let's take his head and claim some reward money!"

The Sergeant rallied them, and his companions immediately clamored and swarmed forward. Their fierce demeanor made it seem as if they wanted to dismember Enjou right then and there.

Judging by Enjou's agile skill, he was at least a squad leader of the resistance. As for why he would come to Shogunate Army territory?

Who cares! Since he's here, he's not leaving!

"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!"

Sharp whistling sounds cut through the air, and sword gleams flashed. Enjou looked at the astonishing gashes on the nearby trees and wiped the cold sweat from his forehead.

These guys are really trying to kill him.

What's going on with Inazuma? Isn't Watatsumi Island Inazuma's territory? Why are the Ashigaru here shouting and trying to kill him?

"Damn it, you slippery eel! If you've got the guts, fight us fair and square!"

Hearing this, Enjou looked at the few Ashigaru behind the Sergeant. Who was it that ambushed him? Who was it that ganged up on him? Doesn't this person have any self-awareness?

"You said it." Enjou pointed at the group of people opposite him. He really didn't want to run away now.

Shaking his wrist, Enjou instantly turned into an afterimage.

The Ashigaru only felt a blur before their eyes, and then they found themselves flying through the air.

"Bang!"

"Hiss--"

"Ouch--"

... The thud of heavy objects landing mixed with the painful groans of the Ashigaru, creating a bit of a battlefield atmosphere.

"Clap! Clap! Clap!" Enjou clapped his hands, as if dusting off non-existent dirt, and a smile unconsciously spread across his face. So, bullying weaker opponents felt this good.

No wonder those Apostles always put him through military training before.

"Can we talk properly now?"

"Yes, yes, yes!"

The Ashigaru, with bruised and swollen faces, hurriedly nodded. The guy in front of them was not just a resistance captain; he was probably also a Vision holder.

Without enough manpower or a pre-arranged ambush, ordinary people couldn't possibly defeat him.

It was better for their small group to be sensible.

"That's right. If you had this realization earlier, you would have saved yourselves a beating." Enjou shook his head, then asked the few people in front of him, "Do you know how to get to Watatsumi Island?"

No sooner had Enjou finished speaking than he saw the Ashigaru exchange glances.

Is this guy really from Inazuma? He genuinely doesn't know the location of Watatsumi Island.

The leading Sergeant then began to scrutinize Enjou carefully. His yukata was worn inside out, and he wore leather shoes instead of geta... The Sergeant was shocked to discover that Enjou only looked like an Inazuman at first glance; the details were simply unbearable.

A foreigner? And a foreigner seeking refuge on Watatsumi Island, and more importantly, he was a Vision holder.

His eyes darted around quickly. The Sergeant thought of an excellent plan, a brilliant scheme that could make this guy pay... "I know! Of course, I know!" The Sergeant immediately nodded, adopting an extremely eager expression.

"Not only do I know, but there's a ship departing for Watatsumi Island right now. Would you like to take a ride, sir?"

The Sergeant's eyes narrowed into slits as he smiled. As he chuckled, he put his hands behind his back and signaled his companions.

[Cooperate, Waverider, death!]

With a few simple gestures, combined with the recent events on Yashiori Island, everyone immediately understood and quickly echoed:

"Right, right, right! There's a Waverider heading to Watatsumi Island recently! You've arrived at just the right time, sir!"

"And I remember the time is almost up, sir. You should hurry."

Several voices chattered, making Enjou instantly anxious. This was a direct route to Watatsumi Island; if he missed it, he wouldn't know when the next one would be.

"You guys stay put! I'll be right back! If I find you trying to escape..."

"Boom!"

A massive fireball flew from Enjou's hand, blasting a scorched crater on the distant beach.

"Gulp!"

The Ashigaru nodded, looking like obedient children. Now they were even more certain that they could only outsmart Enjou, not overpower him.

The destruction caused by a Pyro Vision holder was the greatest.

"Whoosh--"

Another whooshing sound, and Enjou instantly vanished from their sight.

In the distance, Enyu was peeking from behind a large rock. Seeing Enjou running over from afar, he immediately posed his three soul-searching questions: "What's wrong? Why are you running back? Is there another problem?"

"No... no! I found a ship that goes directly to Watatsumi Island!" Enjou briefly caught his breath, then said excitedly.

"Really?!"

"It seems you're still somewhat useful!"

Ensa and Enka's eyes lit up upon hearing this. They hadn't expected to arrive at their destination so soon after coming to Inazuma!

This time, they would surely surprise those who looked down on them!

"What a coincidence..." Enyu's eyes also gleamed. He recalled everything he had seen and heard along the way.

Desolate and uninhabited, this was normal. Mondstadt also had many such places. Because the number of monsters in Teyvat was simply too many, not to mention the Ley Line Blossoms, which are Ley Line nodes that produce monsters, many places were simply uninhabitable.

But here, even monsters were scarce. Enyu hadn't seen many Hilichurl, Slime, and other creatures commonly found in the wilderness.

Glancing at the rusted swords stuck in the beach, Enyu already had a guess.

Humans were the absolute overlords of the surface. When they gathered, no monster could stop them.

[War? What a distant and blurry thing.] Enyu shook his head. The most recent major war was five hundred years ago. He hadn't expected to see it again in Inazuma.

However, Enyu wasn't worried. It was difficult to kill an Abyss Herald who could teleport at will.

"You follow them, open a small portal, and if anything unexpected happens, call us anytime." Enyu instructed Enjou.

"Oh, right! That way, as soon as I reach Watatsumi Island, I can bring you guys over too!" Enjou slapped his head and then opened a tiny glowing white dot on a nearby empty patch of ground.

That was a super miniature version of the Abyss Passage. If Enjou wished, he could enlarge this Abyss Passage enough for one person to pass through.

"That's good, you go now." Enyu didn't burst Enjou's delusion. What if it really was such a coincidence?

"You guys just wait to get to Watatsumi Island!" Enjou, holding a similarly tiny Abyss Passage in his hand, waved and left again.

"To Watatsumi Island? I hope so." Enyu muttered a few words softly, then said to Ensa and Enka beside him: "You two, assume your strongest stance, don't slack off!"

With that, Enyu was the first to activate his shield. Around him, numerous ice shards swirled.

"Why..."

"Just follow orders. Your brain wouldn't understand."

Ensa slapped down Enka's words. He also activated his elemental shield, and one massive water bubble after another rose from the surrounding ground.

"Alright... alright." Enka scratched his head, thinking it made sense, so he also activated his shield, and lightning followed.

And so, three Abyss Mages, poised for battle, stared intently at a single point of light, looking quite eerie... "You guys are very good. Lead the way!" Enjou returned to the Ashigaru, clapped his hands, and was in a great mood.

"Sir, please follow me!" The Sergeant quickly nodded, then led Enjou deeper into Yashiori Island.
