Chapter 328 - Chapter 328: A Haven in the Flames of War

A falling star, as if ripped from the heart of the earth, plummeted from the Sky, violently striking a Waverider in the distance.

Before this, the ship's cannons on the Waverider had attempted to fire at the falling star a few times, but none of these could shake the massive molten rock sphere.

The moment it touched the Waverider, the accumulated Pyro element power within the falling star exploded, and a bright fireball rose from the surface of the sea.

"Boom!!!"

The seawater was Vaporized by the surging flames, and in a short while, the distant sea surface began to boil due to the high temperature.

Countless water vapors billowed upwards, even obscuring the flames within.

Waves rose and then fell back to the water, ripples spreading to the ice surface, still carrying a hint of warmth.

"So... so strong!"

"Nonsense, how could a Singer not be strong?"

"Damn it, when can I be like that!"

Enyu and the other two Abyss Mages exclaimed in awe. They had rarely seen a Singer go all out—mainly because they were too weak, and tasks requiring an Apostle or Singer to use their full power almost never had room for an Abyss Mage to intervene.

But very quickly, Enyu snapped out of it. While increasing his output of Cryo element power, he asked Ensa:

"Those spells of the Hydro Samachurl, do you know them?"

"Hydro Samachurl?" Ensa glanced at the still bewildered crowd on the ice surface, then nodded and said, "I heard them talk about it before, I'll try!"

With that, Ensa clasped his staff with both hands and stood it upright on the ice surface.

"@&#$... "

Only Hilichurls and Abyss Monsters could understand the incantations that came from Ensa's mouth. Accompanied by a unique ritual dance, a dark cloud gathered above the ice surface.

"Swish swish swish!"

The familiar drizzle began to fall again, but this time it did not bring any uncomfortable dampness. The fine rain fell on everyone, leaving no residue, but instead directly seeped into their bodies.

Vitality Bloomed within their bodies, the discomfort from choking on water, the mental exhaustion from fear... all immediately dissipated with the surge of vitality.

Under this vitality, even the pain brought by the tatarigami was slightly relieved.

Of course, it was only a little. Ensa had no way to deal with the black aura entwined around these people; such a thing was beyond his capabilities.

"What about me, what about me?" Enyu first looked at Enjou, who was frantically 'whipping the corpse' of the Waverider's remains in the distance, then at Ensa, who was casting the healing drizzle, and then at Enyu, who was trying his best to maintain the stability of the ice surface... Why was he the only one idle? Was Enyu looking down on him?

"You?" Enyu turned his head to look at Enyu, who had a hopeful expression behind him. He scrutinized the lightning flickering around Enyu, and a sudden idea struck him:

"Do you know how to perform CPR?"

"..."

"Wh-what is that?" Enyu picked his ears. CPR? What was that?

"A medical technique from Sumeru. It doesn't matter if you don't know." Enyu rolled his eyes, no longer bothering with Enyu, and went about his business.

"Wait! Tell me about it! I often electrocute rats underground. In terms of lightning control, I can at least rank among The Order!"

Enyu was anxious and quickly circled Enyu, saying.

"Humans, your drowning companions, do you know how to save them?" Enyu ignored Enyu. He looked up and spoke a Teyvatian language in his sharp voice.

This startled the crowd nearby, who hadn't yet realized what was happening, once again.

Monsters can talk? Everyone looked at each other. They were all honest and law-abiding fishermen or farmers from Yashiori Island, usually active only within their small plots of land.

Let alone Abyss Mages, even Hilichurls were rarely seen.

"What, I remember it's like blowing air into a drowning person's mouth. Are you still stunned, do you want to watch your companions die, or do you want me to do it?"

Enyu pointed to his sharp, bird-beak-like mouth and retorted. These guys wouldn't expect him to perform artificial respiration on humans, would they?

If his sharp beak went down, it would probably pierce directly through a human's throat.

"Oh... oh! I know that!" A man came to his senses. He glanced at Enyu, then ran to an unconscious companion and began artificial respiration.

After several breaths, the drowning person beneath him coughed up several mouthfuls of seawater and then regained consciousness.

"Yes, just like that. You control the speed yourselves. I don't know how long it takes for humans to die from lack of oxygen."

Enyu nodded, then finally began to address Enyu.

"You watch them. If they can't be saved, you can electrocute them, roughly to the extent that it would paralyze an unsuspecting me."

"Don't worry! Leave it to me!" Enyu immediately perked up and began to wander around among the busy crowd.

However, unfortunately, due to the swift actions of the four-person group... no, the three-person group, everyone was rescued in time, and Enyu did not have a chance to show his skills.

He wandered for a long time, and besides receiving looks of awe and gratitude from the group, all he got was a stomach full of sea breeze.

Both the ice surface and the sea surface were a busy scene. Enjou was busy reducing things to dust, while Enyu and his companions were busy rescuing the others.

However, for ordinary people, destruction is always simpler than creation. After a while, Enjou finished venting, and not even ashes could be seen on the sea surface.

"Done?"

"Done."

"Then what about these people?" Enyu pointed to the crowd behind him, who had just been pulled back from the brink of death, and asked.

"What to do?" Enjou's mind was also blank. Looking at the slightly retreating crowd, Enjou transformed back into his human form.

He jogged closer to the crowd. Perhaps because he was in human form now, or perhaps because they had nowhere left to retreat, the crowd showed no signs of rejection.

"Gr-great one."

The crowd bowed to Enjou, not daring to look him in the eye.

"May I ask, what will you do next?" Enjou raised his hand slightly and asked the crowd.

"Great one, can you tell us... what happened?" An old man stepped out from the crowd, his voice trembling as he asked.

His gaze flickered towards the ashes on the ice surface, traces left after Enjou had just incinerated the large ship.

"What happened..." Enjou's originally smiling face stiffened. He waved his hand and said, "It's just some pests, don't worry about it."

"Those people in purple armor wanted you dead." Ensa directly cut to the chase and revealed the truth.

"Remember to stay away from them in the future. They must have done this several times. Humans, they don't understand." Ensa waved his staff, and a bubble emerged from the sea surface.

The bubble burst, and from it fell a piece of driftwood riddled with countless holes from corrosion. He had just found it at the bottom of the sea, perfect to use as evidence.

"So it is..." The old man's face instantly turned gray when he saw his driftwood.

He mumbled some words that ordinary people couldn't understand, and then retreated back into the crowd on his own.

"Their faith has collapsed. You should be careful. As far as I know, humans are prone to suicide in such situations." Enyu immediately understood the old man's thoughts upon seeing him. Speaking of which, their ages were also quite advanced.

However, due to various outrageous behaviors, they often overlooked this fact.

"Understood, we will be careful." For a moment, everyone didn't know what to say, so they just nodded.

"Are your official forces all like this now?" Enyu looked at the somewhat bewildered crowd in front of him and asked.

"I don't know. Since the war broke out, no one has managed Yashiori Island."

"Especially after the tatarigami outbreak, both the Shogunate Army and the resistance treated us like a source of plague."

"We originally thought this time the adults from Narukami Island had shown kindness, but we didn't expect..."

As he spoke, some people couldn't help but cry. In troubled times, just surviving was enough to exhaust their minds.

"I remember there's a place that accepts refugees."

Amidst sighs and cries, useful information finally emerged.

"Where?" Enjou, whose mood had also become somewhat low, perked up upon hearing this and quickly asked.

"Higi Village," the person mused.
