"I understand, sir," I said as I sat up.
"I will be on my way." Frédéric left without looking back, the sunlight felt cold on my skin as the door closed shut behind him. I kept staring at the closed door, before standing up and wearing my robe.
–At the company–
"The program is due at eleven a.m. today. Why do I have no reports yet?" Frédéric was shouting at Claire from the PR department. I just stayed quiet behind the glass door. Frédéric noticed me and dismissed Claire, she politely excused herself. She passed by me with her head down. I entered his office and closed the door quietly behind me. He put the picture he was holding in his drawer, but interestingly the drawer had a lock on it, it only worked with fingerprint.
"Lyne…" he said my name softly while having his eyes locked in mine.
"Seems like you were not pleased with the reports, perhaps you need a distraction."
"A distraction? No, I have a long way ahead of me. Tell me Lyne, what else could be a distraction for me other than the sight of you?"
"Perhaps your favorite cube game, or watching machine development."
"You know me too well. I need you to have them redo the reports five times, and I want all new drafts by noon."
"Alright."
"Before that give me my camera."
I walked to the shelf behind him and took his camera. "Do you also like photography, sir?"
"Nature is beautiful, isn't it?" he smiled as I handed him the camera. "I like to capture it. You may go now." he took it and dismissed me.
"Have a nice morning, sir." I left his office.
As Lyne returned to the Secretary department, every mouth went quiet, only the sound of her heels clicking on the marble floor could be heard. Everyone slowly returned to their seats. She paused just outside her office, her striking outfit adding to her intimidating aura, then slowly turned to face the room with a calm, soft, but commanding gaze. "Good morning," most nodded at her greeting quietly in reply, noting that they might be in trouble. "Head manager," She looked directly into Julia's eyes, as if digging out her soul, "my office, please." She said no more as she entered her office.
Every gaze turned to Julia, all praying for her in their hearts, with pitiful eyes. She closed the door slowly behind her as she entered Lyne's office.
