Chapter 112 - 110.The Heart Beneath the King

The laughter lingered softly inside the observation chamber of Dwarka like the first ray of sunlight after a long storm.

For weeks, the city beneath the ocean had watched its king drown silently inside himself. But now, after hearing that faint laugh escape Dilli's lips, hope returned to the people closest to him.

Nagamani's eyes glistened with tears of relief.

Prasada Raju smiled in silence while old Subbaraju softly tapped his cane against the floor.

"There he is," the old man whispered warmly. "Our boy is still there."

Dilli looked away slightly, embarrassed by the attention, but the heaviness around him had undeniably cracked.

Nagamani gently touched Shakthi's cheek.

"Stay with him," she said softly.

Shakthi nodded with unusual seriousness.

"We'll take care of each other, aunty."

Prasada Raju chuckled faintly before glancing toward Betal and Veda.

"You two… enough standing around like security towers."

Betal frowned immediately.

"I was emotionally supporting him."

Shakthi snorted loudly.

"With what? Your funeral face?"

Subbaraju burst into laughter again.

Even Veda tilted his head slightly as if analyzing whether that was scientifically accurate.

Shakthi immediately pointed toward the exit dramatically.

"Yes yes, both of you leave. Shoo. Go calculate missiles or hack satellites or whatever mysterious creatures like you do."

Betal crossed his arms.

"This is still technically a strategic observation chamber."

"And technically," Shakthi replied sweetly, "I'm about to throw a cushion at your head if you don't leave."

Betal looked toward Dilli for support.

To his absolute betrayal—

Dilli quietly nodded toward the door.

Betal looked genuinely wounded.

"Unbelievable."

Veda calmly turned toward the exit.

"Retreat is strategically advisable."

"See?" Shakthi said proudly. "At least robot baba understands."

Betal muttered something deeply offensive under his breath as both finally left the room.

The doors slid shut behind them.

Silence returned once more.

But this silence felt different now.

Warm.

Alive.

Only Dilli and Shakthi remained beside the massive transparent wall overlooking the endless ocean beyond Dwarka.

For a few moments, neither spoke.

Then suddenly—

Shakthi folded her arms and glared at him.

"You idiot."

Dilli blinked once.

"…What?"

"Yes. Idiot."

She moved closer angrily.

"What exactly was that behavior these past weeks?"

Dilli looked away quietly.

But Shakthi wasn't done.

"The country betrayed you, fine. Politicians were cowards, fine. The world feared you, fine."

Her voice softened slightly.

"But what was with that expression like you lost everything?"

Dilli remained silent.

Shakthi's eyes trembled faintly now.

"You still had your parents."

She pointed toward the city outside.

"You still had millions of people here in Dwarka who believe in you."

Then more quietly—

"You still had me."

Those words struck him harder than any betrayal.

Shakthi looked genuinely upset now.

"You sat here alone like the entire world ended…"

Her voice cracked slightly.

"…without even realizing there are people whose whole world is you."

Dilli slowly looked toward her.

For the first time since Hope Island fell…

He truly saw her pain.

Not fear.

Not admiration.

Love.

Raw and terrified.

Shakthi lowered her gaze slightly.

"You know how scared I was?" she whispered.

Dilli's chest tightened painfully.

"You kept acting like nothing mattered anymore."

Her voice trembled further.

"And every day I wondered… what if one day you just stopped coming back to us?"

That was the moment something inside him finally broke completely.

Before Shakthi could react—

Dilli suddenly pulled her into his arms.

Tightly.

Desperately.

His body trembled against hers.

And then—

The man who had shaken nations…

Cried.

Not silently.

Not proudly.

Like a wounded child finally collapsing after carrying too much pain alone.

Shakthi froze completely.

For several seconds, she could not even breathe.

This was Dilli.

The man who faced fleets without fear.

The man who stood before the world without bowing.

The man whose name alone terrified governments.

Yet now—

He held her like she was the only thing stopping him from falling apart completely.

Tears soaked against her shoulder as years of exhaustion, betrayal, loneliness, and pressure finally escaped him all at once.

Shakthi's own eyes filled instantly.

Slowly…

Very gently…

She wrapped her arms around him tighter.

"It's okay," she whispered softly near his ear.

"I'm here."

Dilli buried his face against her shoulder, holding her as if letting go would destroy him.

For a long time—

Neither moved.

Only the quiet sound of his breathing and the distant hum of Dwarka echoed through the chamber.

Finally, after several minutes, Dilli slowly regained control over himself.

He pulled back slightly, embarrassed.

But Shakthi immediately wiped the remaining tears from his face before he could turn away.

"No hiding," she warned softly.

A faint smile appeared on Dilli's lips.

"You're terrifying when serious."

Shakthi sniffed dramatically.

"Obviously."

Then she narrowed her eyes again.

"And don't ever scare me like that again."

Dilli looked at her quietly.

The ocean lights reflected beautifully across her face.

"How did you stay this strong?" he asked softly.

Shakthi shrugged lightly.

"Because somebody has to manage you."

Then she suddenly added—

"If you ruin your health like this… who's going to take care of me later?"

Dilli blinked.

Shakthi continued shamelessly.

"And who exactly am I supposed to marry if you keep acting suicidal and mysterious all the time?"

For one brief moment—

Dilli's heart genuinely stopped.

Shakthi realized what she accidentally said.

Her face turned red instantly.

"I-I mean…"

But before she could finish—

Dilli suddenly pulled her closer again.

This time gently.

His forehead rested against hers.

"Even Lord Yama himself cannot take my life away from me now," he whispered deeply.

Shakthi's breath caught.

Dilli's eyes softened in a way they never had before.

"I still have promises to fulfill."

The glowing city of Dwarka shimmered behind them beneath the ocean.

"One day…"

His fingers intertwined slowly with hers.

"…I'll reclaim everything."

Shakthi looked at him silently.

"The world will know the truth."

His voice became calmer.

"Not through fear."

Then he smiled faintly.

"But through a civilization so powerful… humanity itself will change."

Shakthi's eyes glowed softly listening to him.

Then Dilli leaned closer.

"And when that day comes…"

His thumb gently brushed against her hand.

"You and I will walk together openly across every nation on Earth."

A warm blush spread across her cheeks.

"No hiding."

His voice lowered further.

"No fear."

Then softly—

"And I'll give you the greatest wedding the world has ever witnessed."

Shakthi stared at him speechlessly.

The terrifying king beneath the ocean…

Was looking at her now not like a ruler.

But like a man dreaming about a future with the woman he loved.

Tears gathered in her eyes again.

But this time—

They carried happiness.

Then suddenly she muttered shyly—

"…You better keep that promise."

Dilli smiled softly.

"I will."

Outside the transparent walls of Dwarka, the endless ocean drifted peacefully beneath the darkness.

And far beneath the sea…

While the world above feared his return…

Dilli had finally found the strength to live again.
