c86 – Goodbye, Beerus
Seventh Universe, deep within the cosmic void.
A dazzling stream of nine-colored light tore across the universe, streaking toward a small blue planet located on the edge of a spiral galaxy. This shimmering trail was not an ordinary energy wave but the Ultra-Fast Angelic Transit, a warp technique unique to Angels far surpassing instantaneous movement and even the divine speed of the Gods of Destruction designed specifically to ferry destroyer gods and their attendants across the macrocosm.
At the front floated Whis, staff in hand, his movements serene. Behind him sat Beerus, legs crossed, one palm pressed lazily against Whis' back to maintain the official "God of Destruction travel posture." Further behind were Su, Son Goku, and Vegeta, all maintaining balance amid the violent light currents.
"Whis, are we still not on Earth yet? I really can't sit still anymore! I still can't believe that guy Frieza was resurrected again!" Goku leaned forward nervously, face tense with excitement more than fear very much like when he first heard about Golden Frieza in the manga's Resurrection 'F' arc.
"Tch."
Vegeta folded his arms, coldly snorting. "What are you panicking for, Kakarot? Don't forget Gohan, Goten, and Trunks are all on Earth. And if by some absurd chance they aren't enough, there is still Lin Hao. Knowing your son's potential and Lin Hao's strength, Frieza charging in blindly is practically asking for death."
Goku thought for a moment, then rubbed the back of his head. "Well… I mean, yeah, I'm not too worried about the Earth itself. I mostly wanna see how strong Frieza got after those four months of intense training."
"Hmph. Vegeta is correct." Beerus finally opened one eye, tail swaying lazily.
"But also remember Frieza is extremely cunning. Even if Lin Hao is absurdly strong stronger than most mortals I've seen, if he gets careless even once, Frieza might pull some dirty trick. That's just who he is."
"But, Lord Beerus," Goku said innocently, "didn't Lin Hao overpower you without even using Destruction Energy? Even if Frieza is strong and sneaky, he couldn't possibly beat Lin Hao."
Beerus' eyebrow twitched violently. A vein pulsed.
Without hesitation he smacked Goku on the head.
"You idiot! Don't remind me of that! I JUST got my good mood back!"
"Ow s-sorry, Beerus-sama!"
"Hahaha…" Whis chuckled.
"Although Frieza indeed possesses rare mutant potential among Frost Demons his rapid evolution in just four months is extraordinary his temperament remains fatally arrogant. Facing someone like Mister Lin Hao…" Whis paused meaningfully, though everyone understood exactly what he meant.
Goku's concern did not diminish. "Still, Whis, speed up! I won't feel at ease until I see Earth with my own eyes!"
"Agreed!" Beerus added, drooling slightly. "Bulma owes me a mountain of desserts. If Lin Hao already wrapped things up, I expect my welcome banquet!"
As it happened, before Lin Hao's arrival on Earth, Bulma had used her communicator to contact Whis with the promise of new gourmet ice-cream flavors, hoping to summon Goku and Vegeta back quickly. But because Whis had placed them inside a training dimension a modified time chamber where several days passed in mere minutes they never saw the notification.
By the time they emerged, Frieza's threat had nearly been resolved by Lin Hao alone, prompting Whis to accelerate their return.
"Very well! Brace yourselves!"
Whis—now craving Earth's sweets as much as Beerus boosted his angelic warp speed, shooting straight toward Earth like a divine comet.

Earth
As Golden Frieza's hateful scream dispersed across the winds, Lin Hao's body descended calmly, his form shrinking back down from his Super Series Four state. His aura eased, settling like quiet fire around him.
"Dad, that was awesome! You handled that golden fridge like it was nothing!" Lin Yi rushed over, eyes sparkling.
"Yeah! Uncle Lin Hao, defeating Golden Frieza that cleanly amazing!" Gohan added, remembering well how Frieza's golden form forced him and the others into panic in the original manga timeline.
Lin Hao smiled. "Frieza is definitely a prodigy. Reaching that level in just four months is almost unbelievable. But he's far too arrogant. That's what doomed him."
Piccolo nodded. "Agreed. His talent is terrifying. But charging straight here without proper intel on Earth's current fighters… he practically begged to be defeated."
Indeed, even with years of training, most Earth fighters topped out around Super Saiyan 1, with Gohan occasionally reaching Super Saiyan 2. Frieza's rapid leap to divine-tier combat power was unprecedented.
"Alright! Since that's done, let's head back. Fighting made me hungry!" Lin Hao stretched.
"Haha! Me too!" Krillin said. "That little warm-up drained more energy than I expected!"
But before anyone could leave, a nine-colored sphere descended from the sky, landing softly on the ground.
When the light vanished, Whis, Beerus, Goku, and Vegeta appeared.
"Huh? Whis? Beerus? You still came even though Frieza's already gone?" Lin Hao said.
"I came for FOOD, obviously," Beerus declared proudly. "I'll deal with the rest later."
Whis giggled. "Lord Beerus has been… well, let's say avoiding training recently. Perhaps he's trying to forget the time you knocked him unconscious."
"Hmph. Too many unnecessary words," Beerus said sharply, turning away. Although prideful, he knew the truth without Destruction Energy, his chances of defeating Lin Hao were nonexistent. Beerus respected strength deeply, and once his irritation faded, he let go of their earlier conflict.
Lin Hao smiled. "Since Lord Beerus doesn't hold grudges, allow me to apologize for earlier. No hard feelings."
A silent truce formed.
"Oh my, how harmonious!" Whis said cheerfully. Secretly, he was relieved—an actual fight between Lin Hao and Beerus could shake the entire universe, and he preferred avoiding that particular disaster.
