At the Sakurasou
Coincidentally, Kawasaki Saki had also just returned home from her work at Future Comics Publishing.
When she saw Akira Fujimiya, she instantly remembered about the maid outfit, and her face turned bright red.
"Go and take care of your sister first. When your sister falls asleep, I'll come to see you," Akira said softly to Kawasaki Saki.
"..okay," Saki nodded obediently, her voice low.
Akira then walked upstairs, heading toward his own room.
He stopped at the front door, opened it, and took a look at the shoes placed at the entrance.
There were only Yuigahama Yui's shoes.
After changing his shoes, Akira walked to his bedroom door and pushed it open.
Yuigahama Yui, who had been sitting in front of the computer, immediately noticed him. She panicked slightly and tried to close the webpage she was on.
Akira didn't stop her, only watching quietly as Yui fumbled to close it.
"Welcome back, Akira-kun," Yui said, trying to act natural as she turned to him, her nick sweating, after closing the page.
"How to make your boyfriend like you more?" Akira read the title that was on the webpage aloud, glancing at her.
Yuigahama Yui's face turned red in an instant, and she lowered her head in embarrassment.
Without saying anything more, Akira walked over, picked her up in his arms, and carried her toward the bed.
"A-Akira-kun…" Yui murmured, leaning against his chest.
"Little Dummy, if you want me to like you more, you just need to be like a kitten, understand?" Akira said softly as he laid her down gently.
"Akira-kun… you smell like a girl. A scent I know very well," Yui said suddenly, looking up at him, her eyes narrowed.
"I asked you to act like a cat, not a dog," Akira said with a faint smile, patting her head.
"Akira-kun, you tricked me into going home… while you went to be with another girl," Yui said, pouting slightly, her eyes filled with complaint.
"Don't worry, there's still a share for you," Akira replied, sitting beside her.
At those words, Yui's face turned crimson.
"I was thinking about you, Yui. I was worried you'd have a hard time being alone. So I hurried back… do you understand?" Akira said softly, holding her in his arms and gently stroking her hair.
"Which girl was it?" Yui whispered, shyly avoiding his eyes.
"Iroha," Akira answered honestly.
"It's Iroha-chan after all," Yui sighed, though she didn't seem particularly surprised.
"I was planning to stay longer, but when I thought about you waiting for me at home, I left early — didn't even have dinner," Akira said, taking her hand gently.
"Then… I'll make dinner for you?" Yui asked, looking up at him hopefully.
Akira shook his head with a small smile.
Then he reached out, lifted Yui's chin with his fingers, and kissed her deeply.
Yui closed her eyes slowly as she kiss him back, their lips pressing against each other gently.
It was a gently kiss.
...
Two hours later.
Yuigahama Yui was fast asleep, her breathing soft and steady.
Akira, now dressed in his pajamas, quietly left the bedroom and went downstairs.
He stopped in front of Kawasaki Saki's door and knocked lightly.
knock~ knock~
A few seconds later, the door opened.
Click!
When Saki saw Akira standing there in pajamas, her face turned bright red again.
Akira changed into slippers and entered the room.
Saki and her younger sister, Kawasaki Keika, did not share a room anymore.
Because Saki often had to check files and data on her computer late at night, she didn't want to disturb her sister's sleep.
In their previous home, they used to share a room.
Saki gently opened her bedroom door wider, motioning for Akira to come in.
When Akira saw her computer desk, he noticed how serious she was about her work.
The desk was covered with documents and textbooks.
"These are all my failed projects," Saki said softly, noticing his gaze. "Some of the ideas can still be used as references in the future. I keep the successful ones at the company. Miss Hanada taught me a lot."
"Did she teach you how to be a qualified secretary?" Akira asked, his eyes glancing toward her casual pajamas.
Saki's face turned pink as she shook her head.
"Of course not… Miss Hanada wouldn't talk about that sort of thing."
"It's getting late. You should rest," Akira said, glancing at the clock on her nightstand before sitting on the bed.
"....Is everything okay with Yuigahama-san?" Saki hesitated before asking.
"Don't worry. Yui can probably guess everything by now," Akira replied casually, unbothered by the thought.
"I… I'll turn off the lights then," Saki stammered, walking to the switch.
When she came back to the bed, she hesitated for a moment before sitting down.
As soon as she got in, Akira reached out and hugged her.
"Remember when we first met?" he asked suddenly.
"I remember… I thought you were…"
"Very bad? Like a scumbag?" Akira said with a faint smile.
"Ah… yes," Saki admitted, embarrassed.
"How do you feel now?"
"I… I don't know how to describe it," she replied softly.
Akira looked at her, his face close to hers.
Kiss!
"Muah!"
When he kissed her, Saki didn't resist. Instead, she hugged him tightly and responded shyly.
A few quiet minutes passed.
"Actually, I've had my eyes on you since the first time we met," Akira said in a low voice.
"So… you helped me just to get me?" Saki asked, half joking, half serious.
"I wanted to be friends with you. I helped you because I was worried you might do something reckless for money," Akira said gently.
"I see…" Saki smiled faintly.
"Although… at that time, I also thought that if I helped you, I might get closer to you," Akira admitted honestly.
"I believed in you because of your kindness, not your looks," Saki said softly.
Akira didn't respond, only running his fingers through her long hair.
Saki leaned against his chest, feeling his warmth and the quiet beating of his heart.
"I was planning to teach you something new today," Akira murmured, "but I'm a little too tired now. Let's leave it for next time."
"Mm…" Saki nodded, her face flushed as she thought of something.
They both spend some quiet time together in each other embraced, Akira's one hand were playing with Saki's hairs while other hand were at her back.
While Saki was enjoying his gentle care and attention as she quitly listen to his heart beat. His heart beat was calm and peaceful, she thought as a small smile appear on her face.
...
It was still dark when Akira quietly left Kawasaki's house and returned to Sakurasou.
Yuigahama Yui was still sound asleep.
Akira changed clothes and sat at his desk, working on manga sketches until dawn.
When morning light filled the room, he went to wake Yui up.
Yui yawned sleepily, her eyes still half-closed.
Akira sighed, went to her closet, and fetched her uniform.
When he helped her put it on, Yui finally started to wake up.
"Akira-kun, when did you come back?" she asked, rubbing her eyes, not minding him getting her ready.
"Have I ever been out?" Akira replied with a faint smile.
"When I woke up in the night, you weren't here," Yui said, pouting.
"Really? Maybe I went to the bathroom."
"I got up too… to go to the bathroom."
"At that time, I happened to go to your room," Akira replied smoothly.
Yui puffed out her cheeks, realizing he was lying.
She wasn't stupid; she knew exactly where Akira had gone.
But, Yui decided not to point it out.
"Okay, I admit it. I went out. But I didn't do anything bad," Akira said finally, seeing Yui's expression.
He was telling the truth.
"Akira-kun, you… you have to take care of yourself," Yui said shyly, her cheeks turning red as she looked away.
"I know. I will," Akira said with a small smile.
"I'll ask Yukino how to make medicinal food. It's supposed to help with health… right?" Yui said thoughtfully.
"Yui, I dare to eat your regular cooking. But if it's medicinal food, I should probably call an ambulance before tasting it," Akira said seriously.
"Then… I'll let Yukino help you," Yui said with a laugh, knowing she couldn't argue.
....
After breakfast, the three of them walked together on their way to school.
Yuigahama Yui walked slightly behind, calling Yukinoshita Yukino on the phone.
Kawasaki Saki walked beside Akira, keeping a certain distance from him as usual.
When they reached the school gate, Yukinoshita Yukino was already waiting there.
She glanced at Saki and gave a polite nod.
Saki nodded back and walked into the school building.
Akira watched her leave, then turned his eyes to Yukino.
"I'll ask the driver to buy the ingredients for the medicinal food. Wait for me in the cooking classroom this afternoon," Yukino said calmly.
"...You're not going there today?" Akira asked, surprised.
"It's fine to skip one day occasionally. I don't need to supervise the entire production process myself. The team already knows what to do," Yukino replied, brushing a strand of hair from her face with her usual composure.
"This is all thanks to you," Akira said quietly. He knew the animation project was already halfway done.
"Senpai!"
A lively voice called out from afar.
Both Akira and Yukino turned their heads.
It was Isshiki Iroha, running toward them with her usual bright smile.
Yukinoshita Yukino watched her approach calmly, while Akira simply sighed.
