The explosion blasted an entire section of the hall open, sending guests screaming as furniture shattered and flew through the air like deadly debris. Some people were killed instantly....those closest to the blast while others lay sprawled across the ground, groaning or unconscious, blood mixing with scattered flowers and wedding decorations.
Orion and Louise, though not gravely injured thanks to their distance at the altar, were violently thrown apart by the shockwave. Louise reacted without thinking, his instincts flaring, lunging forward and shielding Orion with his own body, taking most of the impact across his back and shoulders.
"It's a monster gate!!! Protect the president!!!"
"M...Monster gate?!" Orion gasped, his eyes widening in sheer disbelief as chaos echoed around them. His hand flew to his stomach now throbbing with a sharp pain that nearly stole his breath.
