The drowning death of Yang Hongyu caused a prolonged tension between the Jiang and Yang families. Ultimately, Jiang Yiping and Jiang Weili agreed to compensate the Yang Family with a sum of money.
The amount was significant; otherwise, the Yang Family wouldn't have let it go.
They didn't want to pay either, but without compensation, if the Yang Family sued them, they would likely end up compensating. Most importantly, Zhang Shiying wasn't someone easy to deal with. During that time, she cried at the Jiang Family almost daily, and they didn't have any solution. By the time school started, with Zhang Shiying's personality, she might even cause trouble at the school.
If things went extreme, one wouldn't know what the Yang Family might do, especially Zhang Shiying, who was almost seventy and had strong resilience.
Ah Chen didn't know if Zhang Shiying would just let things go like this.
