Not long after dinner, the rain stopped.
Just as the Commissioner remembered, An Shuo Hai and An Miao were preparing to go to town to buy some items.
An Shuo Hai pushed out the motorcycle, and An Miao hopped on, but the motorcycle wouldn't start no matter what.
"What's going on?" An Shuo Hai muttered, asking An Miao to get off to check the vehicle, but found nothing conclusive.
No idea where the problem lay.
"It's not too far anyway, Dad. Why don't we just walk?" An Miao suggested.
An Shuo Hai tried again, but the motorcycle was indeed unusable: "It might really be broken, this bike is quite old, I'll take a closer look another day. Okay, let's walk."
Just as the father and son were about to leave the house, two large stones, each half the height of a person, rolled from the distance onto the path ahead of them, landing right in front of them.
Even if neither of them believed in the supernatural, this was unsettling.
It was too strange.
