Chapter 362 - Chapter 362: The Sniper of Syrup Village

Arlong was once a member of the Sun Pirates.

In his original world, Fisher Tiger, to rescue fellow fish-men enslaved and bought by human traffickers, climbed Mary Geoise, the World Government's holy land headquarters, with his bare hands. He caused a commotion there, freeing thousands of slaves of different races.

Later, he formed the Sun Pirates and roamed the seas. Most of the crew members were fish-men, and Arlong was one of them.

However, in this world, before Tiger could make that world-shaking move, Kaido, with the help of lightning storms, almost leveled Mary Geoise. Many Celestial Dragons died then. Numerous Celestial Dragon guards were unable to protect themselves and perished, while many slaves escaped.

Among those who escaped were a large number of fish-men.

As a result, Kaido has almost become a great hero among the fish-men. Although Kaido has no interest in being a savior of fish-men, nor did he attack Mary Geoise to save fish-men or slaves, many fish-men still worship him.

Arlong is one of them. He had also joined Fisher Tiger's crew. But because Tiger did not rescue slaves in this timeline, and there was no need to, his endeavors were merely thrilling adventures.

In this world, there is no 'Sun Pirates,' but rather the 'Sun Adventurers.'

This adventuring group is recognized by Marine Headquarters and the World Government. As long as they do not break the law, they can legally adventure on various islands.

The Sun Adventurers gathered many fish-men, but Arlong didn't want to be just an adventurer.

He yearned to become as strong as Kaido and also greatly admired Kaido as a savior. Thus, he left the Sun Adventurers and set off alone for Wano Country, wanting to seek refuge with Kaido and join his Beasts Pirates.

On the ship, Tiger and his first mate, Jinbe, both approved his request to leave. But after he crossed numerous obstacles and endured endless storms and dangers to reach Wano Country, he didn't even get to see Kaido.

When he said he wanted to join the Beasts Pirates, they only laughed. They thought Arlong was too weak and completely unqualified to join the Beasts Pirates.

With his dreams shattered, Arlong wandered aimlessly at sea, eventually reaching a place he didn't know. At the end, he met that demon.

The King of Demons, Kibutsuji Muzan…

Kibutsuji Muzan gave Arlong his blood, turning him into a demon, and making him Upper Rank Three.

After becoming a demon, Arlong's strength further increased. Not only did his already superior physical abilities become even stronger, but he also gained incredibly powerful Blood Demon Arts.

But the power of a demon also eroded his mind. By now, he had completely transformed into a cruel demon, one who completely followed Muzan's orders.

He came here to kill the several targets Muzan had assigned him. But upon arriving, he found no one. He nervously circled the Sea Restaurant several times, knowing that his master was watching through his eyes.

He had considered barging into the Sea Restaurant, but whenever the thought occurred to him, he felt a fear like being burned by the sun. It was as if the restaurant didn't house a person, but a sun.

He would die if he went in!

Even after becoming a demon, Arlong still felt fear in his heart.

However, his master's command was absolute, transcending his own life. If he failed to complete his master's orders, he would also die!

Thus, he finally made up his mind.

He was going into the Sea Restaurant!

But just then, a new message came into his mind.

It was his master's words.

"They are heading towards Syrup Village. Go there and kill them, and take care of that lucky sniper while you're at it."

Arlong paused for a moment, then quickly changed direction. Just as he had decided to enter the Sea Restaurant, he felt as if he were about to die.

Now that he knew they had left, Arlong was naturally relieved.

When he learned he was to go to Syrup Village, Arlong let out another cold laugh on the sea.

Syrup Village, he knew this place.

He heard there was an archer there, and many demons had died there. But to Arlong, they were all just trash.

Fish-men were already much stronger than humans. Coupled with becoming a demon, Arlong was unprecedentedly arrogant. He didn't think that sniper was anything special; it was just that those ordinary demons were too weak.

So weak they shouldn't even exist.

Then, Arlong quickly swam towards Syrup Village.

...

Meanwhile, Luffy and Zoro, making their way in the dark, were also following the map given by Usopp.

"By the way, I think I've heard of this Syrup Village before," Zoro said, rubbing his chin as he steered the boat, seemingly deep in thought.

Luffy, who had been dozing off beside him, suddenly perked up. "Huh? What? Is it an interesting place?"

"I heard that in Syrup Village there's a braggart who often claims he can see things others can't. He says he spends his days hunting down long-nosed monsters that are seven or eight meters tall. He even took on a bounty mission to investigate those monsters. But later, no one else could see those monsters, which cemented his reputation as a braggart."

"Invisible monsters?" Luffy asked, confused. "Are they demons?"

"Everyone can see demons!"

"I mean..." Luffy suddenly made a terrifying expression. "The ghostly kind of demons!"

"Why the sudden creepy face!" Zoro twitched the corner of his mouth. "I don't know about ghosts or anything, but a friend told me that braggart actually has some real skill, and maybe he's not just blowing hot air."

"We'll see when we get there!" Hearing about something like this, Luffy was no longer sleepy. He went out to sea precisely to experience adventures that ordinary people wouldn't in a lifetime, so he loved heading towards places with such legends.

"Speaking of which, she's sleeping so soundly," Zoro's attention shifted from Luffy to Nami beside him. Looking at the bound woman sleeping soundly, Zoro glanced at the sky and slowly said, "It looks like the sun is about to rise. If you don't want your navigator to turn to ash, you should take her to your room."

"Demons... they all fear the sun, don't they."
