Skylar Keating asked suspiciously, "Why did you unfollow?"
Gage Grant remained silent.
Skylar checked the photo and document modification times, noticing they were all altered before Maeve announced she was leaving the industry. Tentatively, she asked, "Did you unfollow because she announced her retirement before?"
Gage snapped back to reality, "Yes."
Skylar assumed Gage unfollowed Maeve due to the scandal of her being exploited, and felt too disappointed to mention her further.
Although she didn't believe Gage knew Maeve personally, seeing her fiancé had once been a fan of a pretty celebrity, jealousy filled her heart.
Now that Gage admitted to unfollowing Maeve due to her past scandal, in Skylar's mind, it was as if a same-gender threat had been eliminated, thinking her relationship with Gage was back in the safe zone. She smiled, happily sat beside Gage, hugged his waist, and said, "I understand."
Gage thought, "You understand nothing."
