Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: The Su Family Is Really Lively

At this moment, Su Yaozu was no longer the cheerful and confident figure from moments before, now trembling as he knelt on the floor, praying in his heart for Su Juan to stop speaking.

"Father, it was that wench who seduced me... You know, I have always been dutiful to you!"

[Isn't it out of duty? Knowing that his father couldn't fulfill that aspect, he eagerly helped to satisfy her, keeping the beauty's heart.]

Old Master Su's eyes were about to pop out, his hand under his sleeve clenched tightly, the bulging veins held in check.

"Father! I never had such treacherous thoughts!"

[Of course not, with an hour and a half last night, and two more hours this morning, in just half a day, he was busy for seven or eight hours. Didn't even have enough time to sleep, let alone think!]

Su Yaozu was now so anxious that cold sweat broke out on his forehead, and he inwardly cursed, wondering how Su Juan hadn't just died of illness in the countryside back then!

[And he had even planned another two hours tonight... Brother, even a donkey wouldn't be as capable as you!]

Old Master Su's forehead veins bulged furiously, "Rebellious son!"

He roared angrily, got up and flipped the table over, spilling the food all over Su Yaozu, scaring the family in the hall and the servants outside into a hasty retreat.

Su Juan was also startled, [Good heavens, he's this angry just knowing about the green hat he wore last night. What if he finds out that the fifth concubine who fled from the mansion last year is actually being kept by Su Yaozu in a house on the outskirts of the city?]

"You scoundrel!"

Madam Su stepped forward first, slapping her son across the face with a trembling hand, "That is your concubine, after all!"

The fifth concubine had entered the mansion the year before last and escaped last year, and the household searched everywhere they could without finding her,

At that moment, Old Master Su had already fetched the family punishment, a stick as thick as an adult's arm. Su Yaozu turned pale with fright, kowtowing heavily, "Father, I've realized my mistake! I won't dare to make this mistake again in the future, I plead for your mercy..."

As he was kowtowing, he looked towards Su Juan for help.

Aunt, I beg you, please stop talking!

If you keep going, I'm afraid I'll be beaten to death here today!

Su Juan looked blankly, [Why are you looking at me? Do you want me to say a few good words and persuade them on your behalf?]

[The son is having an affair with the father's concubine, how can I, as the daughter, speak up for him?]

The room echoed with Su Yaozu's screams, one after another, incredibly tragic.

Outside the hall, several Su Family girls felt both a sense of relief and a secret sense of satisfaction, silently reaching a consensus: never provoke Su Juan!

Su Lingling, who had her secrets exposed, listened to the cries with a sense of trepidation, grateful that it wasn't her inside.

In the room, Su Juan ate while watching the scene unfold, squinting her eyes, [The Su Family is really lively and exciting. It's enough to make me want to stay longer.]

Song Qianfan glanced at his newlywed wife, who had just returned home and stirred up trouble, his eyes flashing coldly. This woman knows too many secrets; I must be even more careful and cautious.

Should she dare to disclose anything unfavorable to me, I will kill her on the spot.

Outside, the members of the Su Family who heard his inner thoughts had a look of horror — absolutely not!

If Su Juan stays in the Su Family for any longer, it will be their downfall!

With such a scandal in the Su Mansion, Song Qianfan had no intention of staying longer, while Su Juan wanted to stay to watch the drama. Helpless before Song Qianfan's dark expression, she could only follow along, looking back reluctantly with every step.

At the gates of the Su Mansion, Su Juan's eyes welled up with tears as she grasped Madam Su's hand, "Mother, I'm leaving. Please tell Father to take care of his health."

[If it's absolutely necessary, see a doctor. Why be so stubborn and insist on saving face?]

Madam Su's smile stiffened, "Go on, I'll take care of your father, my child, don't worry."

"As for you, now that you're married, you must prioritize your husband and serve the Princely Heir well."

Seeing Madam Su appear concerned and worried for her daughter, Su Juan wiped her tears, "Mother, don't worry. I will serve the Princely Heir well and will often come back to visit you and Father."

Madam Su let out a chuckle, her face relaxing considerably, "Go on, don't keep the Princely Heir waiting."

Su Juan finally headed towards the carriage, her steps heavy as she sighed.

[What a pity. If only I could stay in the Su Family for a day or two...]

Madam Su watched Su Juan's back, thinking: It seems Su Juan still cares for the Su Family. If there are any benefits in the future, she likely won't forget her maternal home.

Meanwhile, Su Lingling pouted, feeling that her mother was too kind to Su Juan, as if she were her real daughter.

"Mother..."

Madam Su: "Now that your elder sister is married into the Prince Mansion, and you're her biological sister, you too can share in the glow. In the future, remember to stand united as sisters and let go of past matters."

Thankfully, they had only sent her to the villa earlier, without any harsh treatment of the girl.

Madam Su's smile widened with satisfaction, with Su Juan, their status would rise. In the future, when it comes to Su Lingling's marriage... those high-status families, they've practically got a foot in the door.

From the carriage, Su Juan's voice drifted: [The Prince Mansion is dull, where can you see such a dramatic family feud like in the Su Family? Plus, with Madam Su and her daughter, at least there's a sense of domestic intrigue to engage in.]

Madam Su's smile almost faltered.

...

Inside the carriage, Su Juan glanced at Song Qianfan, whose lips were tightly pressed.

This woman, Su Juan, her mind is full of nonsensical things, devoid of any learning!

Soon, the carriage stopped outside a garden. Upon stepping out, Su Juan realized they hadn't returned to the Prince Mansion. Looking around, the place looked familiar. This garden frequently hosted gatherings for the Capital City's dignitaries, and it was a favorite spot for young aristocratic ladies.

It was also the place where, according to her memories, Song Qianfan most frequently visited, besides visiting Liu Miaoying, he surely had other intentions.

Song Qianfan adjusted his attire, casting a cold glance at Su Juan, "Speak less, and don't make trouble for this Princely Heir."

Earlier, he had received word that Liu Miaoying would be attending the Liu Family's gathering, and today, he had important matters to attend to. If not for the concern that the Prince and Princess Consort would find out, he wouldn't have attended the homecoming today.

All this was held up by this woman, Su Juan.

Su Juan looked timid, "This humble wife remembers."

Song Qianfan raised a smile, holding a paper fan, as he walked into the garden with large strides. He hadn't seen Miaoying for some days, and he needed to explain that the betrothal wasn't his wish, to prevent her from misunderstanding.

Behind him came Su Juan's sigh.

[Meeting Liu Miaoying again, you want to see her, but she might not want to see you. Oh, why so one-sided?]

Song Qianfan turned his head, only to see Su Juan's innocent face. He was barely holding back, wanting to draw his sword and chop off her head.
