Qin Yun excitedly patted Pei Yan's hand, "There's something!"
Pei Yan nodded, and the two of them looked toward the bushes.
"Rustle, rustle."
The movement inside became more obvious. Qin Yun and Pei Yan exchanged a glance, and Pei Yan shielded Qin Yun behind him, then cautiously and slowly approached the bushes.
The sounds in the bushes grew more intense, but though the creature was struggling, it didn't change places, as if it was trapped.
Pei Yan carefully parted the bushes, revealing a blood-stained fawn inside.
The fawn was quite young, covered in brown fuzz, its eyes swollen, and tears all around.
Its leg was already broken, with a hunting trap caught on its hoof.
Noticing someone approaching, it let out a sharp cry and struggled even more fiercely.
Seeing the blood, Qin Yun felt her stomach churn, extremely uncomfortable.
Pei Yan checked the situation, then crouched down to press the fawn's neck, preventing it from struggling.
"It's a fawn, injured."
