For those powerful orthodox deities, no matter how far apart, as long as a shrine is erected for them and offerings are made, they can sense it. If the prayers are strong enough, they can summon the divine power!
This is also one reason why the Confucianists, who possess the qualification to investiture of the gods and set up golden statues, can occupy half of the Cultivation Realm!
