Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: An Astonishing Performance

Seeing this familiar name, Shane Morgan instinctively frowned. It's just that Maya Monroe is too "famous", with scandals constantly surfacing.

Shane Morgan is a well-known director in the country. Recently, he won the Golden Dove Award for Best Director with the film "Parade of Flowers," gaining immense popularity.

Shane Morgan is strict and meticulous in casting, never allowing any blemish in his years of hard work. He would never use an actor like Maya Monroe, who's known for being a diva. Moreover, he has already found a satisfactory Kiki Monroe.

However, the procedure still has to be followed.

"Are you sure you want to perform the scene of Luna's death?"

Shane Morgan was rather surprised.

This was Luna's final scene, a role with complex emotions and high difficulty, requiring a very capable actor.

It's unclear if Maya Monroe plans to take an unorthodox approach or if she's simply giving up.

Most likely the latter.

Maya Monroe nodded: "Yes."

It was a scene chosen by the original script, and she only needed to follow the storyline.

Before she came over, Scott had her review the original plot summary and character analysis of Luna.

Maya Monroe has a good memory and quickly grasped the gist.

Shane Morgan took a sip of mineral water and casually pointed at someone.

"You, go act alongside her."

The young man pointed out hesitated and refused to move forward.

Who doesn't know that Maya Monroe enjoys creating scandals? Being linked with such an infamous actor would be hard to shake off later.

The atmosphere became a bit awkward for a moment.

Suddenly, there was an elegant laugh, followed by a gentle, resonant voice: "Director Morgan, I'll do it."

The speaker was Leo Lancaster, a top actor known for both his looks and skills. He was invited by producer Felix Price to play the lead role of Jackie Foley and was also part of the audition panel.

This statement left many people stunned, knowing that although Leo Lancaster was a good-natured person, he wasn't someone who liked meddling in other people's business.

Shane Morgan looked at him curiously: "Lancaster, you want to act with Maya Monroe?"

Maya Monroe, known for poor acting skills and lack of professionalism, left Shane Morgan puzzled about Leo Lancaster's intentions.

Leo Lancaster, with his refined and handsome demeanor, smiled with an elegant charm: "Maya Monroe and I are quite familiar."

Maya Monroe watched Leo Lancaster walk toward her, searching her mind for information about him. Leo Lancaster was the eldest young master of The Lancaster Family in Kyston, her childhood sweetheart, and her husband Ian Rowe's good brother.

In the book, Leo Lancaster liked the original character, but as the story progressed, he eventually felt disgusted and turned his affection toward Kiki Monroe.

Only Maya Monroe could hear the faint words from Leo Lancaster: "Long time no see... Sister-in-law."

Leo Lancaster, being younger than Ian Rowe, called her sister-in-law.

Facing Leo Lancaster's warm smile, Maya Monroe merely nodded.

Shane Morgan: "Hmm... let's begin then."

Luna is the second female lead in "Wandering Beyond the Horizon," portraying a script of beauty and tragedy. Luna was a childhood sweetheart and first love to the male lead Jackie Foley, growing up together. After her parents' tragic death, Luna transformed from a gentle and shy neighbor girl into a ruthless femme fatale. Misunderstanding led Jackie Foley to lose all faith in her, and they became adversaries. Luna was ultimately stabbed through the heart by Jackie Foley, who later learned the truth and was devastated but too late.

This scene is a major turning point and climax in "Wandering Beyond the Horizon", where Jackie Foley, to save the world, fatally wounds Luna, marking the end of their final conversation.

Maya Monroe quickly entered character, and upon reopening her eyes, she seemed transformed into the tortured yet fiercely loving and hating Luna, her eyes filled with agony and disbelief, her voice sharp as though crying blood.

"You… actually want to kill me…"

Leo Lancaster, though surprised by Maya Monroe's rapid immersion into character, quickly adapted to his role as Jackie Foley.

Jackie Foley's fingertips trembled slightly but still stepped back, eyes red: "You forced me! You've killed so many people! This is your comeuppance!!"

Though Leo Lancaster carried an air of gentleness, at this moment, he exuded a righteous aura.

Luna clutched her chest, as if blood was already gushing out.

At this moment, Luna's heart was filled with painful shock, a pain that pierced her soul.

Yet she neither wept nor cried, instead revealing a faint smile, reminiscent of the young Luna with the purity and gentleness of a fawn.

"Brother Jackie, you promised to protect me forever..."

She smiled, yet her voice echoed with utmost sorrow.

Leo Lancaster was momentarily stunned by her smile, his mind flashing with images, a massive wave of pain surged within him, taking two seconds to realize he still had lines left.

The scene was momentarily silent, no one had yet recovered from the performance they had just witnessed.

After the performance, Maya Monroe instantly dropped her character, got up, dusted off her clothes, and walked out of the hall.

The scene had concluded, and she saw no reason to waste any more time there.

An outsider like Maya Monroe didn't truly understand acting or performance, but having frequently transmigrated into different books, acting was much like taking on a new role in another world, a skill she had long mastered effortlessly.

Only when a cool sensation touched his knee did Shane Morgan snap back, realizing he had spilled mineral water on his pants in his entrancement.

The casual indifference on Shane Morgan's face had vanished, leaving only a look of satisfaction.

Maya Monroe's performance was astonishing!

Especially that final brilliant smile, she truly brought Luna to life!!

Kiki Monroe's performance was also good, but her resentment in the end was too deep, and the hatred conveyed was too intense. Comparing the two, who was superior was now unmistakably clear.

Shane Morgan just wanted to take a sip of water to soothe his emotions, only to find there wasn't a drop left in his bottle.

It was the first time he had seen such a naturally talented actress; Maya Monroe's performance bore no sign of artificiality, akin to an unpolished gem, pure and transparent.

She wasn't acting as Luna. She was Luna herself!

He wouldn't tolerate anyone saying Maya Monroe's acting was poor ever again; he'd be the first to confront them!

Unable to contain his excitement, Shane Morgan wanted to share some words with Maya Monroe but found she had already disappeared.

Returning to his seat, Leo Lancaster's heart was still swelling with emotions. Unexpectedly, Maya Monroe had absorbed him entirely into the performance, leaving him now unsure if he was Leo Lancaster or Jackie Foley.

This was something he never encountered even when facing award-winning actresses.

So when did Maya Monroe's acting become so exquisite?
