"Miss, which outfit do you think would look best for traveling?"
Caitlin had changed into a ton of outfits—she'd basically tried on almost everything in the store, and every time she changed, she took a photo.
After that, she asked the sales clerk which one would suit her best for going out to have fun.
"Miss, you look great in absolutely anything!"
The sales clerk held it in for ages before forcing out that one line.
"…"
Caitlin got choked up by the answer, and the good mood she'd had felt like it was about to evaporate.
But then, she quickly thought of someone.
Grey.
If it was him, he'd probably give her some real suggestions, right?
With that thought, Caitlin picked fifty photos she liked the most and sent them all to Grey at once.
Ding-dong ding-dong ding-dong…
…
…
Saffron City, Fighting Dojo.
After finishing the battle, Grey had just told Green what her shortcomings were when his phone suddenly started ringing nonstop.
With that chain of notifications, anyone who didn't know better would've thought his phone had just connected to the internet.
"You go ahead and deal with it. That's probably some boss messaging you."
Green recognized Grey's phone—this was the one he used for casual chatting.
And normally, Grey used this phone to talk with "bosses."
To avoid replying too late, he'd deliberately left Do Not Disturb off and didn't mute it.
"Let me see who this is… Huh? Fifty messages? All from one person?"
Seeing Caitlin dump fifty messages on him in one go made Grey's head hurt. For a moment, he even wondered if something had happened to her and she'd used psychic powers to fire off that many messages.
Then he opened his phone.
"Huh???"
What hit him was a wall of photos.
Grey scrolled and found that Caitlin had sent fifty mirror selfies.
It looked like she was trying on clothes in a mall.
But sending fifty photos at once… that was honestly ridiculous.
[Sleeping Beauty: Voice message 6s.]
After the fifty photos came a voice message.
Grey tapped it, and Caitlin's voice played.
"Can you help me see which one suits me?"
The moment that sweet voice came through, the stream—which technically still hadn't ended—instantly got lively again.
[Greyie, which Governor is that?]
[Which Governor could it be? The ones who've gifted Governor to the streamer are only six: Sleeping Beauty, Giovanni of the Earth, Battle Castle Official, Black of Nature, Dragon Tamer Lance, and Unova Retired Colonel.]
[Damn, why does Giovanni even have a voice changer on? Trying to invite the streamer out to fence or something?]
[What, what? Me, Gym Leader Lt. Surge, as the former Unova Retired Colonel—maybe I mastered the move "Voice Change." What's wrong with using a sweet voice in private?]
[Is there a chance this is actually Lance…]
[Where's Black of Nature? Could it be him?]
[Battle Castle Official isn't impossible either.]
Most people had actually already guessed the answer.
Honestly, you didn't even need to guess.
"Sleeping Beauty," duh.
Out of the six, only one was a girl—if she wasn't, she still had to be!
Besides, Sleeping Beauty was always the clingiest with Grey. They'd seen Grey on stream replying on his phone plenty of times already.
And they didn't really mind.
If someone was dropping real money like that, chatting with Grey a little more was fine.
They were all buddies—there was a whole Fighting Dojo right here. Grey wasn't exactly going to run off with his Governor "boss," was he?
Compared to Grey chatting with a Governor, they'd be way more unable to accept Grey privately getting involved with some other random girl!
Usually, jokes were jokes—but don't you dare actually go find yourself a girlfriend!
"Alright, guys, I'm going to reply real quick. The casual chat segment's going to be delayed a bit—give me like ten minutes."
Grey dragged over a chair and sat down, putting himself fully on camera while holding his phone and replying to Caitlin.
"Sabrina, how do you think I should respond?"
He was halfway through typing when he realized that no matter what he wrote, it came out sounding way too blunt.
Like right now—Caitlin had sent fifty photos, and he seriously wanted to reply with "They're all good."
That reply was the most direct, but it also felt kind of perfunctory.
And since Caitlin was a psychic, Grey was worried about stepping on a landmine, so he asked Sabrina—also a psychic—to see if she could help him avoid triggering anything.
[? Greyie, do you hear what you're asking?]
[Asking one girl how to reply to another girl—man's got real life experience.]
[What a monster. Greyie, are you not afraid Sabrina will turn you into a doll?]
[Let's see how Sabrina reacts.]
"Let me see."
Sabrina didn't think anything of it. She took the phone from Grey, flipped through a few photos casually, then reminded him, "She probably wants to wear something next week and wants you to choose. If you have ones you like, just pick them."
"How you reply is up to you. Like what you were about to say—'they all look good'—you can say that, but add something after it, like which ones look best on her. She wants you to make a choice, not just say everything is equally good."
Sabrina calmly analyzed it word by word, teaching Grey exactly how to answer without stepping on a landmine.
"Got it—thanks!"
Grey instantly knew what to say.
[Dojo Castaway Annihilape: I think you look great in all of them! But there are definitely a few that suit you especially well—I'll circle a few for you.]
That response was solid: compliment everything first, then pick a few to highlight and praise more specifically.
Out of the fifty photos, Grey chose four.
The first one was Caitlin wearing a pink wide-brim round hat. Her long blond hair fell like a waterfall, then was neatly gathered by a few delicate hair clips.
On top, she wore a black trench coat with a sky-blue short-sleeved shirt underneath, and a pair of sunglasses clipped at the collar.
On the bottom were denim shorts and thigh-high black stockings, finished off with red leather shoes. It looked fantastic.
Grey couldn't help giving it a mental thumbs-up.
The second, third, and fourth outfits didn't even need explaining: a black top with a long white skirt; a straw hat with a sleeveless white dress; and a violet dress.
Compared to the others, Grey liked the first one the most. When he replied, he even specifically said that look suited Caitlin especially well.
"You… like this kind of style?"
Seeing how much Grey favored that outfit on Caitlin, Sabrina grew thoughtful.
"It's not like I'm obsessed or anything, but yeah—this kind of look definitely grabs your attention."
Grey answered like that.
[Greyie, cringe.]
