Chapter 31 - Chapter 31: Class Committee Election

[Notice: This Friday at 7:30 p.m., a class committee election will take place in classroom 1021. All students are required to attend this class committee election meeting on time. @All members]

When Mo Jingchun saw the notice sent by the counselor Li Na in the group, he scrolled through several pages of "received" messages.

It seemed that Mo Jingchun was one of the last students to see the group message notification.

On Friday, a light rain began to fall over the sky of Jing University. The scorching summer departed without a word of farewell, being swept away by the rain.

Normally wearing short sleeves in the heat, Mo Jingchun woke up to find the outside temperature much colder than expected. Fearful of catching a cold, he put on a thin jacket.

As for his sister Candy, Mo Jingchun dressed her in even thicker clothes.

After finishing the morning classes, Mo Jingchun relaxed a lot because his schedule indicated there were no classes every Friday afternoon.

Having not had a good nap in a long time, Mo Jingchun took a three-hour nap with his sister Candy in the afternoon.

Mo Jingchun was woken up by his sister; otherwise, with his lack of sleep, he could have slept until nightfall.

The little one was different, having developed an internal clock. Every day, she wakes up at three-ten, with a margin of error of no more than five minutes.

This could be considered a new skill for the little one—being a human alarm clock.

After waking up, Mo Jingchun and his sister washed their faces together, then started tidying up the room, organizing items, cleaning, and clearing away household waste.

Life is that simple. As for studying, to be honest, after attending classes for a week or two, Mo Jingchun didn't find the courses difficult. Exaggerating a bit, some courses might not even be harder than high school textbooks.

Even for the fearsome advanced mathematics, Mo Jingchun found, after reading the advanced mathematics textbook, that it was not as exaggerated as everyone said. Many points were actually supplements based on high school mathematics.

In the evening, when Mo Jingchun went out with his sister Candy under the umbrella, it was already dark outside. In the morning, many students were still wearing short sleeves, but by evening, Mo Jingchun hardly saw anyone wearing short sleeves anymore.

Some senior girls made Mo Jingchun exclaim in admiration. In this temperature, though their hands were already chilled and crossed, they still wore short skirts, exposing their long, fair legs.

Of course, even if he saw it, Mo Jingchun would just click his tongue twice. Since they didn't know each other, who would care if they were cold or not?

The umbrella he bought in high school was still a bit small. When he reached the classroom building, upon closing his umbrella, Mo Jingchun found that the back of his jacket was already wet. As for the little one, Mo Jingchun had protected her well, hidden inside the jacket with just her head poking out, not a drop of rain falling on her.

It must have been because of the cold weather; today, the little one was particularly clingy. As long as she was in Mo Jingchun's arms, she would tightly grab his clothes with her small hands, pressing her face to his chest.

The reason was simple—it was warm.

Both Candy and Mo Jingchun felt warm.

As soon as the "pregnant-bellied" Mo Jingchun entered the classroom, the girls who had been about to take the baby saw Candy hiding inside Mo Jingchun's jacket for warmth and abandoned the idea.

Inside the jacket, the temperature was evidently higher than outside. It was now the season most prone to catching a cold. Rashly taking Candy away from her warm "bed" might mean hearing that she caught a cold tomorrow.

That was not something anyone wanted to see, especially not the girls.

Lately, in order to take care of the child, they had put in a lot of effort in their spare time, learning a lot from short videos about taking care of children, including basic knowledge.

Before 7:30, around seven minutes past seven, the counselor Li Na entered the classroom.

Li Na glanced at the small head poking out of Mo Jingchun's jacket and paused for a second, then smiled slightly, not having realized before that Mo Jingchun was quite adept at taking care of children.

After silently counting the number of students present, with two still missing, Li Na did not rush to start the class meeting but instead walked around the classroom.

Only when all the students arrived, and the two class representatives also showed up, did Li Na start the class meeting.

"Alright, everyone, please be quiet for a moment."

At Li Na's words, the classroom, which had only a few people talking, immediately fell silent. Evidently, Li Na was sparing the face of those few quietly chatting students, not pointing them out directly to keep them quiet.

"Tonight, the purpose of the class meeting is mainly to have everyone elect the class committee members, to facilitate the smooth progress of various activities and work in the future. But before that, I want to address something that happened today, something that was very unpleasant for me."

It was the first time Mo Jingchun had seen the counselor Li Na angry, her displeasure clearly visible on her face, especially when she looked toward a certain student. It validated an online saying that you can't hide the look of wanting to stab someone.

"University is different from high school. In university, students are allowed to use their phones. At Jing University, even if you bring your phone to class, we have never said it wasn't allowed. But our minimum requirement is to put your phone on silent or simply turn it off during class, and playing on your phone during class is absolutely not allowed."

"You are all adults now. I don't know about other classes, but in our class, there are no students under 18."

"Being adults, you must take responsibility for your actions. Some people shouldn't think just because the courses seem easy, you can not pay attention and play on your phone during class. I won't hesitate to tell you, every year, our school isn't without students being advised to leave. I don't want such things to happen in our class, and I'm sure none of you want to be advised to leave by the school one day either."

"Say you play on your phone, so be it, but playing games, and not only that but being caught by the student council, is embarrassing, don't you think? This time, I won't publicly criticize. Who I'm referring to, that person should know very well."

"Next time, if this happens again, there'll be a public criticism, and a 2000-word reflection to be read in front of the class."

Below the podium, everyone was looking around, except for Mo Jingchun, who raised his head, letting his gaze sweep from the front door to the back door.

During the morning class, Mo Jingchun had been sitting in the back row, and the back door was closed. So he was quite curious about how the student council people took the photo.

Taking a glance, Mo Jingchun looked at the window in the middle of the wall near the corridor, his mouth twitching.

Such a high window, how did the student council people manage to take photos? That window height must be at least 2.5 meters, right?
