"Are you ready?" Harold Chapman perked up as soon as he saw her.
Melody Thorne glanced around the room, pouting. "It's usually the man who's supposed to set things up, so why do I have to do it all the time? Aren't you supposed to surprise me?"
Harold Chapman rubbed his forehead with his large hand, a hidden smile in his dark eyes. "Suddenly, I'm really missing your little tricks from before."
In the past, it was always Melody Thorne who planned Valentine's Day, but unfortunately, he never appreciated it.
"Fine," Melody Thorne conceded, considering she did have quite a bit of experience with this.
"So, what time are you coming back tonight?"
Harold Chapman glanced at the clock on the wall. "I'll be back before eight."
"You could come back later."
"Hmm?" A sharp arc formed in Harold Chapman's eyes.
Melody Thorne said, "...Come back earlier tonight."
"Alright." Harold Chapman hung up the phone, satisfied.
