Jared Quinn set her down and braced his long legs, his strong and slender arms naturally wrapped around her waist as he explained, "Elias Hale is not as harmless as he seems on the surface. I'm worried that next time you'll also believe a man you've just met so easily!"
He had investigated, and what Melody Thorne had told him before about Elias Hale saving her was all fake; they hadn't met at all.
"I trust my intuition, and maybe if I didn't trust him, he might really deceive me. Anyway, I did it for you."
"Will you be the same if you meet another man next time?"
"No," Melody Thorne answered decisively.
"Elias Hale was an exception, and your illness has been cured, so there's no need for me to do that anymore."
Jared Quinn sighed softly, tightening his arms, resting his chin on the top of her head, inhaling the sweet scent of her hair, "In the future, if anything happens, don't decide on your own, discuss it with me, okay?"
"Hmph," Melody Thorne didn't want to respond to him.
