Chapter 169 - Chapter 169

Evening,

A black Kawasaki motorcycle slowly rolled to a stop outside a residential neighborhood outside an apartment.

The engine's rumble faded into the evening air.

The sky had already darkened considerably.

Sitting on the back seat, Yukinoshita Yukino removed her helmet and carefully climbed off the motorcycle.

A few strands of her black hair escaped from behind her ears as she adjusted them neatly. Before, she handed the helmet back.

"I'm going home, Scum sensei."

Gojo Satoru accepted the helmet with a grin.

"Huh? According to every drama and romance novel I've ever seen, shouldn't you invite me upstairs for a cup of tea first? I'm a little thirsty."

Yukino's expression immediately became cold.

"Tea?" She narrowed her eyes. "You mean tea, followed by whatever nonsense you're imagining?"

"Eh?"

Gojo put on a mocked hurt expression.

"You wound me."

"You deserve it." Yukino crossed her arms. "Don't even think about it in this life."

She paused.

"Or the next."

Another pause.

"Maybe after several reincarnations, I might allow you to shake hands."

"How generous."

"I'm known for my kindness."

"That's definitely a lie."

"Hmph!"

Yukino turned around immediately. The corner of her mouth twitched upward ever so slightly.

Unfortunately for her, Gojo had already noticed it.

Unfortunately for Gojo, pointing it out would only start another argument. So he wisely remained silent, if he was day time and he doesn't have work he would've definitely called her out.

"Good night."

"Good night, Yukino."

Without looking back, she waved her hand dismissively and walked toward the apartment building.

Gojo watched her disappear inside before finally putting his own helmet back on.

Rrrrroooom—!

The motorcycle engine roared to life.

A few seconds later—

The Kawasaki vanished into the night.

However, he wasn't heading home.

Not yet.

Because there was something far more interesting happening elsewhere.

Somewhere in Tokyo...

A demonic presence had appeared.

And it wasn't weak.

The corners of Gojo's mouth slowly rose.

"Looks like tonight won't be boring."

...

Inside Yukinoshita Residence,

After arriving home, Yukino opened the door.

As usual, the apartment was quiet. Almost too quiet.

"I'm home."

Her voice echoed softly through the isolated room.

Of course — No reply came.

That was normal.

She removed her shoes and changed into slippers.

Yet before she could take more than a few steps—

Click!

The door behind her suddenly opened.

Yukino froze. She clearly remember she had lock the door.

Turning around, she immediately saw a familiar figure, as her shocked expression turned into a blank look.

Shoulder dark hair.

A beautiful mature smile.

And an air that practically screamed trouble.

It was her big sister, Yukinoshita Haruno.

"Good evening, Yukino-chan."

"...Onee-san."

Yukino immediately became cautious.

Whenever Haruno appeared so unexpectedly, it usually meant trouble more than a certain someone.

"What are you doing here?"

Haruno smiled brightly, as she happily reply, "Visiting my adorable little sister."

"You're lying."

"That hurts."

"No, it doesn't."

Haruno laughed.

Before she bent down to removed her high heels and casually entered the apartment as if she owned the place.

Which, in fairness, was something she would absolutely do.

After pouring herself a glass of water, she sat down comfortably on the sofa.

Yukino sat across from her.

The atmosphere immediately became tense.

Haruno took a sip.

"So, you spent time with Gojo Satoru again today."

And casually dropped a bomb.

The room suddenly felt colder.

Yukino slowly narrowed her eyes. "...Have you been investigating me?"

Haruno waved her hand.

"No, no."

Her smile never disappeared.

"I'm just worried about my little sister."

Yukino immediately recognized that tone.

It was the same tone Haruno always used whenever she wanted to control a conversation.

And she hated it.

Very much.

"You're worried about me?" Yukino's voice became colder. "Is that what we're calling surveillance now?"

Haruno sighed dramatically. "I'm serious—"

"No!" Yukino interrupted. "You're curious."

The smile on Haruno's face weakened slightly, before it return to her usual smile.

Yukino continued.

"You investigate people. You interfere. Then you justify it by saying you're worried."

"..."

The room fell silent again.

Haruno looked at her younger sister. For a moment, she seemed genuinely concerned.

"I'm only worried because I couldn't find anything."

Yukino frowned. "What do you mean?"

Haruno placed her glass down.

"As you said, I investigated Gojo Satoru."

That immediately caught Yukino's attention, not that she investigate about him but the kind of expression she was making.

"And?" Haruno's expression became serious. "Nothing."

"...Nothing?"

"Yes." Haruno nodded. "No family records." (He only find out that he had a sister after coming her — I have already mention what happened to ger family in previous chapter, so by family she mean about his father and mother.)

"No history."

"No educational background." (He get the teacher job because he saved the principal so yea)

"No traceable information." (Most of his information are hidden by other supernatural forces and also because Gojo himself is good at keeping his track)

"Nothing."

Even the Yukinoshita family couldn't find anything substantial.

The more she investigated, the stranger things became.

It was as if someone had erased an entire person's existence.

Or perhaps—That person had never left any traces to begin with.

Haruno looked directly into Yukino's eyes.

"Doesn't that worry you?"

"..."

Yukino remained silent.

She knew Gojo was strange.

Everyone knew it.

But strange and dangerous weren't necessarily the same thing.

Finally, she answered.

"No."

Haruno blinked, her expression finally changing into confusion.

"No?"

Yukino shook her head.

"I'll decide for myself what kind of person he is."

"..."

The room became quiet once again.

A moment later, Yukino stood.

"I'm going to my room."

She began to walked before she stopped near the hallway.

Without turning around, she added,

"Good night, Onee-san."

Then she left.

Leaving Haruno alone in the living room.

The older sister sighed, before a small smile appeared on her face.

"She has changed."

The Yukino from a year ago would never have answered like that.

And that somehow made her happy while also worry her.

...

Meanwhile, Far outside the city.

A black Kawasaki motorcycle came to a stop beside an abandoned industrial complex.

Rust covered the gates.

Broken windows reflected moonlight.

The entire area looked lifeless.

Gojo removed his helmet.

His blindfold concealed the Six Eyes beneath. Yet even without seeing them, he could feel it.

A powerful presence. And the smell of blood.

Lots of blood.

"Looks like I'm not late..."

He casually placed both hands in his pockets and walked forward.

The deeper he went—The louder the sounds became.

RRRRRRRRRRR!

A chainsaw.

Gojo Satoru had an excited smile on the corner of his mouth.

"Oh?"

Now that was familiar.

The gates creaked open.

And the scene inside immediately came into view.

Ugly human corpses laying dead all around the ground, the broken limbs and legs were stacked together flesh still fresh pulsing and the warm blood spilled out of the broken parts.

It was a battlefield.

At the center stood a figure unlike anything human.

A head shaped like a chainsaw with leftover flesh on it's saw and similar Chainsaws extending from both arms in a gruesome manner — spitting his arms in two from middle for the chainsaw to emerge.

Still covered in blood, flesh and intestines. Fighting desperately against a grotesque demon.

The Zombie Devil.

It look like a giant floating limbless torso with multiple exposed organs including a brain from which tentacles emerge to fight against the merciless chainsaw. A large human-like face emerges from the right side of the devil's torso unconnected to where its head should be, he had already loses his right eye as it roared in pain and deep anger.

The chainsaw-headed figure charged forward while screaming like a beast accompaning by the sound of metal tearing through flesh echoed throughout the factory.

RRRRRRRRRRRRR!

One final strike.

One clean cut is all it took as the Zombie Devil split apart. His eyes losing its light as it fall to the ground in two seperate places.

Silence followed, only for the heavy breathing and the slow chainsaw sound.

Then—

Clap. Clap. Clap.

Gojo Satoru applauded, as if he had just enjoyed a good film.

"Wonderful."

The chainsaw-headed figure froze, slowly turning around it's mechanical head.

The two being stared at one another.

Several seconds passed.

Then recognition appeared in the yellow-orange glowing eyes. The chainsaw-headed figure remembered him.

The strange white-haired man from before.

The one who hadn't tried to take advantage of him.

The one who seemed completely insane!

Like him...

Gojo walked forward with unhurried steps.

Completely unconcerned about the corpses surrounding him, since his limitless is doing a good work of making sure that blood and flesh doesn't dirty his clothes as he quickly reach the chainsaw man.

"Good work." He lightly tapped the chainsaw head.

Clack!

The metallic sound echoed in the quiet factory.

"Not bad for a rookie."

The Chainsaw Man awkwardly scratched the back of his head.

Or at least attempted to. As the chainsaw in his hand didn't let him do even that.

"Uh..." His voice sounded distorted, as he move the metallic mouth covered in spiky long teeth. "Thanks."

Moments later, the chainsaws slowly retracted.

Metal melted awa as the leftover blood fall on the ground with the chainsaw retreating inside (?), his stupid face finally visible.

The transformation ended.

Standing there now was simply a teenage boy.

Messy blond hair. Tired two eyes.

Worn-out and leftover pieces of clothes.

Denji.

"Haa..." Denji collapsed onto a broken crate. Exhaustion covered his face, his eyes half closed.

He was exhausted both mentally and physically — having just died before coming back alive at the cost of his only best friend and chainsaw repping apart you inside while using the said things was very painful, if he wasn't used to pain he would be screaming and agonizing like a certain someone.

Gojo crouched nearby. For the first time, his expression became serious,

Behind the blindfold, cursed energy began to follow towards his eyes as he activate the Six-Eyes fully, his sky-blue flashing in cold glint.

His gaze penetrated flesh. Bone. Soul.

Everything revealing itself in front of his eyes as he watch the flesh and blood regenerating at a visible speed, body becoming more alive compare to how he had seen him before.

And finally his eyes rested on the tiny sleeping figure that is fused with Denji's heart — turning it into a cartoonist yet bizzare shape.

Pochita - The Chainsaw Devil.

He or It was sleeping peacefully there.

Their souls had become connected, turning them both into a fusion of Human and Devil.

Separated but at the same time united.

A fascinating existence different from Rin Okumura.

The more Gojo observed, the more interested he became.

Most humans were humans.

Most demons were demons.

Denji was neither yet at the sametime both.

He was in the same situation as the so-called Satan's son, yet he was different from them too.

"Interesting."

The words escaped naturally,
