"Uhmmm… I'll be right back then," Damien finally replied after what felt like an eternity. Without waiting for a response, he turned and made his way toward the exit, the rooftop door creaking softly as it closed behind him, leaving Gabe, Alex, and Fred alone.
Gabe folded his arms across his chest and exhaled sharply. "And what are you still doing here?" he asked, raising an eyebrow as he looked at Alex. "Won't you follow your friend?"
Alex arched a brow, unbothered by the hostility in Gabe's tone. He stepped forward slowly, closing the distance between them until he was standing directly in front of Gabe....so close that Gabe could feel the warmth of his breath against his skin.
"Can you just calm down, Gabe?" Alex said quietly, his voice steady but firm. "I know you're annoyed. I'm sorry, okay? I didn't mean to interrupt anything."
