Chapter 15 - AB negative

Several miles away from the empty mansion where the vampires and the Inquisition hunters had gathered.

"Lady Chloe, thank you very much for your help." Mayla thanks the vampire with black hair and red eyes.

"Don't worry, I was just passing through." Chloe doesn't think much of it, but she is curious about one thing: "Why were you fighting the hunters?"

"..." Mayla hesitates for a moment, but finally decides to speak: "I was spying on that half-crazy vampire."

"Loic?" Chloe raises an eyebrow: "Why were you investigating him?"

"Because, according to reports, he stole an important artifact from the Inquisition..." She lowers her voice a little at the end and sighs: "But I'm not sure now because it seems he's working for both the Inquisition and the cultists."

"Finally, that vampire went completely mad to work with two such problematic groups... but what is that bastard plotting?"

"I don't know, but he said something about a black moon."

"Black moon?"

"Yes."

"Hmm... I see," Chloe turns to leave; she had obtained interesting information; besides, she was in the middle of her walk.

"Lady Chloe, don't you want to meet Lucien?" Mayla asks, curious about her reaction.

"Is he alive?" Chloe asks, surprised; she had expected him to be dead, knowing that a human, upon becoming a vampire, easily transforms into a bloodthirsty creature.

"If he's alive, the most surprising thing is that he seems to have great control over his instincts."

"Oh~, that's interesting." A slight gleam appears in Chloe's eyes; she's becoming a little more interested in her "Husband," but... "I'll visit him later; I have something to do first. Thanks for the information, Mayla."

"It's nothing, Lady Chloe," Mayla bows slightly.

Chloe spreads her wings and begins to fly, leaving Mayla standing where she is, her smile turning into a weary expression.

"Today has been quite an exhausting night." She lets out a long sigh as she begins to walk away, although... "Lucien has me to thank; I'm sending his wives to look for him."

"Hehehe~ maybe when we meet again, I'll ask you to do me a favor."

With an amused laugh, she disappears into the shadows.

...

November 28, two days after Lucien became a vampire and visited his mother in the hospital.

"Hah... hah..." Lucien lies on the basement floor, breathing heavily; in his vision, Selene's beautiful face appears.

"You've improved; now you last five minutes." She said with an ice spear resting on her shoulder.

Lucien sat up, leaning on his hands: "It's still not enough, although now it's much harder for me to maintain my rationality."

'Could it be that the situations are different?' he thought, frowning.

What he has been doing during this time is fighting using his vampiric instincts, as he did against the Inquisition hunters... but unlike when he made the bet, now that he is not in a precarious situation, he finds it very difficult to control himself.

The longest he has endured is five minutes, before nearly losing consciousness, but he does not risk exceeding that limit.

'Although five minutes is enough,' he sighs heavily. "It's enough; I need some blood."

Another thing he learned about his transformation is that he can only drink blood, although he can eat normally; however, the problem is that all food tastes bland to him.

It's as if all his taste buds have completely died.

Yesterday, he ordered a juicy oven-baked beef steak with the money he had saved, but when he tasted it, it was as if he were eating a notebook page.

This was a hard blow for him; even so, he ate the whole beef chop. He wasn't going to throw it away after spending $50 on that cut.

Now he can only drink blood for all eternity, but he can also eat normally; everything will taste bland to him.

Goodbye to the barbecues he wanted to try, the juicy burgers he once ate, and those greasy sausages that smell like heaven.

But there's no point in regretting it now; what's done is done.

Lucien stretches his body lazily as he leaves the basement with Selene. Once in the living room, Vanessa, who is acting as a maid of her own "free will," hands Lucien a bag of blood.

"Oh, this tastes different from yesterday. What type of blood is it?" Lucien asks as he drinks the blood from the bag.

"AB negative," Vanessa replies in a neutral tone; over the past two days, she has become accustomed to it, but she is not entirely confident, since they are vampires.

"What a waste," Selene comments.

"Why?" Lucien asks, intrigued.

"Because if he had become a vampire, he would have had exceptional talent."

But what's the point of becoming a vampire if, in the end, you lose control and turn into a creature of blood?

According to what she had said earlier, any human turned into a vampire loses control of their instincts and becomes a creature of blood. Isn't that a contradiction?

"That's right, but if you have a vampire with some experience, every time you're about to lose control, you can knock yourself out. Also, depending on your blood type, that will give you some benefits."

"Hmm..." Lucien looks at Vanessa, who has the rarest blood type in the world, Rh null. What kind of benefits would she have by becoming a vampire?

'What kind of benefits do I have? Or do I have none?'

He has the Black Blood condition. Does that count as a blood type? Or is he just special because he can control his vampiric instincts?

While drinking the blood, Lucien falls into deep thought, because this information opens many doors: the rarer your blood type, the greater the benefits.

Then he understands something important: "I see... so all the previous humans who tried to become vampires had normal blood, right?" He looks at Selene for confirmation.

"Hmm... that could be one reason, because normally, if a human with a rare blood type shows up, they hunt them down like rabbits."

Lucien frowns; this confuses him a little: "Then how do you know that blood type has benefits?"

"Because we vampires also have blood types," she says, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

"What's your blood type?"

"AB negative."

"And what kind of benefits does that blood type give you?" Lucien's curiosity only increased.

"The benefits of this blood type are..." Selene couldn't finish her answer because just then there was a knock at the door.

Knock, knock, knock.

"I'll get it," Lucien gets up from the luxurious sofa and walks to the door.

With a calm gesture, he opens it.

Standing before him is a beautiful woman with pale skin, as if she had no blood in her veins, silver hair, and a curvy body, blue eyes like beautiful gems, sturdy legs, and a perfect waist. Her breasts are a C cup. She is approximately 5'10" tall.

She was wearing a white blouse, tight jeans, and diamond earrings.

After observing her sensual body, he looks her in the eyes.

"Are you Selene's friend?" he asks directly, without beating around the bush, with a polite smile.

"That's right, I'm Selene's friend... I'm Arlene." She approached him, her face covered by her hair, and said in a playful tone:

"And I'm also your wife."
