Downstairs, Chibuzor headed straight for the car.
"Where are you going?" Olaedo asked.
"To open the car, obviously."
Olaedo blinked.
Then she burst out laughing.
"We're going to a local market, not a supermarket or an estate," she said between laughs. "You'll never find where to park where we're going."
Chibuzor stopped and looked at her, his face shifting into genuine confusion.
"Really?" he asked.
"Yes, really," Olaedo said, nodding.
Then she looked at him carefully.
"You've never been to a local market before?
"Local, super, whatever," he replied as he stepped away from the car. "I've never had to."
Then, after a short pause, he added with slight embarrassment,
"I really never had to."
The confusion on his face mixed with that rare hint of embarrassment made him look unexpectedly younger.
And somehow… even more attractive.
Olaedo noticed it instantly.
She had never seen him like this before.
