Kuoh Town was demon territory. While Rias Gremory didn't seal off information about demons, she didn't broadcast it either.
Only a select few in Kuoh Town knew of their existence—mostly those who had contracted with demons.
Outsiders, especially those who'd never visited, would struggle to uncover the town's demonic presence.
Yet, Yusaku and Shinichi, using online scraps and vague hints, had deduced the existence of demons.
Truly remarkable.
Worthy of a world-class mystery writer, their minds were razor-sharp.
But Rias turned to Morpheus. "Are you sure they came here? I haven't seen them."
Morpheus clapped his hands lightly. "That's the crux. According to my information, they left Tokyo and arrived in Kuoh Town. But then they vanished—neither seen alive nor dead. Messages go unanswered, calls unreturned, and even tracking magic can't locate them."
"That's why my follower sought my help."
Rias fell into thought. The Kudos had come to her turf and disappeared.
Could someone be pulling strings?
But who?
She was stumped. Kuoh Town was demon territory. Could outsiders be stirring trouble under their noses?
"I understand. I'll investigate," Rias declared.
Morpheus nodded. "I'll lend a hand."
Rias didn't refuse. She knew Morpheus was being courteous. He could investigate without her permission—and she wouldn't even detect him.
The gap between them was vast.
Morpheus snapped his fingers, casting a surveillance spell that enveloped Kuoh Academy and the entire town.
Every movement was laid bare before his eyes.
He masked the spell's energy, so no one noticed—except Rias, who sat across from him and still sensed nothing.
Her shock was palpable.
When they first met, their magical prowess was comparable, if not evenly matched.
But in such a short time, Morpheus's mastery had soared to a realm she couldn't fathom.
Was his understanding of magic propelled by a rocket?
It was too fast—unfathomably so.
As Rias grappled with awe and envy, Morpheus spoke. "Found them."
Her heart skipped. "Where?"
"The church."
"The church? That abandoned church?"
Rias blinked. The town did have a church, but its priest had been driven out long ago.
It was now a derelict ruin.
She hadn't expected the Kudos to be there.
"What are they doing?"
Morpheus replied, "They were taken there, technically. But they seem in no danger—almost enjoying themselves."
His gaze pierced the church, seeing everything clearly as he answered Rias.
"What do you mean?"
"You'll see when we get there," Morpheus said. "But first…"
He cast a summoning spell, bringing Sonoko, Ran, and Yukiko Kudo before him.
Seeing Morpheus, Sonoko exhaled in relief. The sudden teleportation had made her fear an enemy, but it was just him.
"Lord Morpheus, did you summon us because you found Shinichi and his dad?"
Ran and Yukiko's eyes lit up, fixed on Morpheus.
"I did, they're trapped inside an abandoned church in this town."
Sonoko urged, "Then what are we waiting for? Let's save them!"
Though she and Shinichi bickered often—mostly over Ran—their bond as classmates was strong.
She didn't want to see him or his father suffer.
Ran nodded vigorously.
Yukiko bowed deeply to Morpheus. "Please, Lord Morpheus."
Morpheus hesitated, then sighed. "Fine. I hope you can handle what you're about to see."
A teleportation circle glowed beneath his feet, enveloping him, Rias, Sonoko, Ran, and Yukiko.
In an instant, they vanished from the clubroom.
…
Kuoh Town, inside the abandoned church.
Yusaku and Shinichi each had an arm around a fallen angel, indulging in revelry. The angels smiled coyly, their allure undeniable, gazing at the Kudos with adoration.
Save for a few thin scraps of clothing, they were practically bare.
A closer look revealed the fallen angels were the ones clinging, while Yusaku and Shinichi were merely playing along.
They hadn't fully succumbed.
But then, a flash of light erupted.
Morpheus, Rias, Sonoko, Ran, and Yukiko materialized in the church.
Their eyes fell on the Kudos, entangled with the fallen angels in apparent merriment.
"!!!"
"!!!"
"!!!"
"!!!"
"No, honey, it's a misunderstanding!"
Unsure why Yukiko appeared at that moment, Yusaku knew he had to explain fast, or his marriage might end then and there.
This was bad.
Shinichi tried to push the fallen angel away, but his strength was no match for hers. To onlookers, they remained locked in an intimate embrace.
Ran's eyes reddened at the sight. Sonoko exploded, "Shinichi, you jerk! Heartbreaker! Womanizer!"
