As Everly scurried along, she felt that familiar, spine - tingling sensation of an unpleasant gaze boring into her back. But of course, being the cliché - plot - magnet that she was, just as she was about to spin around and give the starer a piece of her mind, a male voice called out, derailing her plan.
"Everly."
Like a dog hearing the word "treat," Everly immediately forgot all about the creepy stare and zeroed in on the source of the voice.
"Jeremy! Cassian!"
She finally skidded to a halt in front of them, her face splitting into a grin so wide it could have been seen from space. Her eyes bugged out as she feasted her eyes on the sight before her. The two men, standing so close together, were like a supernova of handsomeness. They could have powered a small city with their combined sparkle. If they ever got lost in the forest, they could be used as emergency flashlights!
