Serena's POV
I watched Ciel leave the room in absolute shock.
For a long time, my mind and heart felt completely numb as I stared at the closed door in silence.
Eventually, I forced myself to move.
Slowly, I rose from the bed, removed my clothes, and slipped into a robe before walking out of the room.
Each step felt unbearably heavy as I moved through the quiet halls, heading straight for the illusion room.
When I entered, I quietly locked the door behind me.
"Finally, you're here."
The illusion's voice hummed through the room.
"What took you so long? You were supposed to be here a long while ago."
"Nothing," I replied, turning to it with a small smile. "I was just a little delayed."
"Alright," it said. "How is our Asriel plan progressing?"
"It will take a little longer than expected," I answered calmly. "But it will happen nonetheless."
Silence followed.
Even though the illusion had no face, no eyes, no expression… I could still feel it staring straight into my soul.
