Kwang Alley was deadly silent, dark, and Smoky. Not a single human nor a stray dog was in sight. Every breath sounded loud.
A man was on his knees in the middle of the road, hands bound, struggling to free himself. Several men surrounded him, guns and daggers gleaming faintly in the dark.
"P-please...please, let me go!" He begged and crawled towards the man standing before him.
The man was facing away, yet carried a persistent aura. He was dressed in black, embroidered "J "on his coat. Every piece he wears shouts luxury and power.
"What did I order you?" A cold voice echoed through the valley.
"B-Boss... we burned the warehouse, but Mr. Shen bribed us to kill some workers too," the man stammered.
"What we did was illegal," The veins of J's hand bulged. The man added desperately. "So why care about killing?" *Bang!* A gunshot shattered through the silence. Moonlight reflected off the bullet before it fell, illuminating J's face: red eyes, blood-red lips, and chilling calm. As man fell on the ground with a loud thud, He crouched beside the lifeless body.
"J do illegal things...legally," he mumbled, touching his neckless and smirk," As for legal, I have never done it!"
In Paris, at 11:21 p.m
"And the devil killed that angel and ended up in hell. So...would you rather have the devil by your side, or an angel?"
An angel-like figure entered the living room in pajamas, with long black hair, rosy lips, and a mole under the right eye. She turned off the Tv and brightened up the room with her warm smile. "Who cares? Both of them left Fairy alone in the end... Bad author!"
A day later, in Korea, at 10:16 a.m
In the bustling hall, Jeon-woo, Ceo of Jeon Empire, entered dressed in black, with soft perm look, featuring layered, textured hair giving a venomous vibe. His secretary surrounded him. Suzy, head secretary of Kim Enterprises, was sipping coffee while getting orders from Seo-yeon. New Ceo of Kim Enterprises, who just returned from Paris, dressed in a white suit, which was designed by her mother. She was checking meeting documents. She was walking like a model, but a bit hurried. Suzy's steps were unsteady, barely keeping up with Seo-Yeon. Near the reception desk, she tripped over. Coffee freed itself from her grip... and fell on Jeon-woo's Luxury Shoes. Suzy's jaw dropped; she bowed instantly, a full 90 degrees.
"I'm sorry... I am so sorry!" she blurted out.
Jeon-Woo rolled up his eyes and looked at his secretary, Jung. Without any hesitation, Jung removed his own shoe and placed them before Jeon-woo. He picked up the coffee-soaked shoe and sighed,
"I don't prefer others' dirt on me," and tossed it towards Suzy, "Throw it away," and walked away. Suzy was too stunned to speak.
Seo-Yeon handed a file to Suzy and shouted, "Hey... you, walking bank!" Jeon-Woo turned and witnessed sharp, dagger-like eyes. She stepped forward. Calm. Unfazed. She picked up the shoes and handed them back to Jeon-Woo, "If you want to throw," pressing them against his chest, "Do it yourself. She isn't your servant." She said coldly and walked away.
Their eyes locked, and everything paused. The bustling hall faded. For a moment, all Jeon-woo wanted was to shoot her right there. He clenched his fist. How dare she insult me? Luckily enough, we are in the office-otherwise. HUh! Pray we never cross paths again. Jeon-Woo clicked his tongue while glaring at her back.
The meeting room of Kim Enterprises was filled with top-notch CEOs. Everyone wanted to be part of Mr. Ravon's Aurora District. It's a Mega Complex Project in Seoul, worth Billions. But Jeon-woo's presence is making the chances low. The door opened slowly, revealing Seo-yeon. "She... Why is she here?" Jeon-woo asked Jung. Jung bent down slowly, voice low, "She's Seo-yeon, daughter of Kim Rahae and current Ceo of Kim Enterprises." Jeon-woo's brows knitted. "Oh," and he smirked. Seo-yeon didn't notice him and continued to review the documents. The meeting starts as usual. Everyone presented their ideas with great potential.
Mr. Rivon stood in front of the projector and clapped. "Everyone did a great job, but" With a click, key points appeared on screen. "Something is missing." Everyone exchanged uncertain looks, waiting for someone to speak.
That someone breaks the silence. Jin Mo, Ceo of Mo Group, leaned back in his chair and let out a light chuckle, " Oh, this time even top companies didn't make it.. What a show-off!" Mo Group is similar to Kim enterprises, but they are media sensations because of family issues, often. His hand ran through his black shiny hair. "But we can't blame Kim. I am sure if Ms. Rahea were here... She already knocked this deal." Seo-yoen's sharp gaze shifted from Jeon-Woo to him.
"Don't you think you are too old to be a school bully, Mr. Jin?" Ms. Han, Ceo Han Sol Group, said annoyingly. Sol group is well known for development projects, but Jeon has never let them climb 1st spot. "You!" Jin Mo pointed his finger and ended up sighing, knowing no one can win against Sol Heir's in arguments. They are all part-time lawyers.
It was her first day in Korea after 5 Years, a chaotic one. It's felt like I am in an ancient Chinese drama where everyone stepped over to please the King, and I am a poor minister who is always targeted. They smiled at each other, but every soft smile hid something sharp.
Mr. Rivon smiled softly, "But still, this deal goes to Jeon's & Kim." He announced. Room filled with clapping, but some weren't even smiling.
"This walking bank!" Seo-yeon's gaze locked on Jeon-woo. "Jinx!" Jeon-woo recalled the incident of coffee dripping down his shoes and the fierce woman who returned it. They looked at Rivon at the same time, their brows knitted, as if to ask, 'Seriously?'
"Kim's approach has a modern style. Also, they are experts in real estate & Finance." The Slide changed on the projector, "But Jeon's presentation brought a cultural touch, and Jeon's are Construction masters also." Rivon explained and smiled warmly, "I am looking forward to great success." Both of them froze before bursting out, "No!" Eyes wide.
Mr. Rivon went from warm to wicked, voice turned cold, "Do you have any problem with my decision, Jeon & Kim?" He lifted his left brow. With her half-closed right eye, Seo-yeon glanced at Jeon-woo."I can't let go of this deal for this walking bank." She thought, then smiled softly, "No... of course not. I am honoured to have a chance to work with him," and turned to Jeon-woo. Her smile was sharpening into a smirk."I hope Mr. Woo feels the same."
Jeon-woo stood. His expression was unreadable. "How can I say 'No' to my old Friend?" He said, walking towards Mr.Rivon and embracing him. Mr.Rivon hugged him back. He was his father's best friend. After his father passed, Jeon-woo only met him for professional matters.
You choose it yourself, Jinx. Brace yourself for the consequences. This business community isn't what it looks like. People here wore masks. They are snakes ready to strike at any time, and you are new... oh, poor soul. Jeon Woo didn't realize he was consistently looking at Seo-yeon.
"Ms. Kim, are you ok?" Suzy placed her hand on Seo-yeon's shoulder as she saw her lost in thought. Seo-yeon blinked at her and turned to Jeon-woo and sank into her thoughts.
"No problem," she smiled quietly. "Better to play queen so that the pawn will be safe," and their eyes locked. Jeon-Woo leaned back in his chair, studying her like she was both a threat and an ally. "Brace yourself, crazy cat... to get tamed." While everyone was praising each other, the war began between them.
