Liam was walking through the campus with his phone out, reading Kelvin's message.
*Kelvin~I'm taking some girl i just met out today. Wish me luck. Actually don't, I don't need it😜*
Liam looked at the message for a second and then put his phone back in his pocket.
He kept walking, his hands in his hoodie pocket, moving through the usual late morning flow of the campus.
Students crossing between buildings, someone kicking a ball near the steps of the science block, a group of girls sitting on the low wall by the fountain doing absolutely nothing productive and looking completely unbothered about it.
The afternoon had that quality it sometimes had on campuses, loose and unhurried, like the buildings were there if you needed them and nobody was going to push the issue.
Then something grabbed his arm from behind.
Both arms, coming around him from the back, and the contact was warm and immediate and soft in a way that made him register it before he fully registered who it was.
