Sofia zipped her heavy coat against the sharp autumn bite, stepping out of the apartment lobby with Liam close behind her.
Crisp evening air rushed in to greet them, chasing away the lingering warmth of the studio.
Streetlights flickered to life down the avenue, painting wet pavement in bright streaks of amber, crimson, and neon pink.
Liam shoved his hands deep into his jacket pockets, falling into step beside her. Movement felt entirely necessary after spending hours lounging indoors.
"So," Liam said, turning his head toward her, "what's the master plan? We walked off that food, so where are we going?"
Sofia smiled, a bright, effortless expression that caught the streetlamp glow. "No set destination tonight.
Just exploring until our legs give out."
Walking down the avenue, they took in the shifting sights of the city at night.
