Chapter 285 - Chapter 281: Early Stage

These past few years have been very peaceful for Lynd, with very few wars and conflicts.

The war between Lorath and the Dothraki was already the biggest war he participated in, and as a result, at Nameria's request, he only served as a foil.

The remaining conflicts couldn't even be called wars; at most, they were minor skirmishes.

He didn't know if it was because the heavens saw him living too comfortably; first, there was a faith conflict within the Chosen Legion of Calamity City, and then a blight was discovered in the farmlands of Tengshi Town.

The grain harvest for the next two years might decrease, and what's worse, the blight didn't originate in Tengshi Town; it spread from The Reach, meaning that the entire The Reach would experience a grain shortage for the next two years.

Lynd did not disregard the internal conflicts within the legion due to faith; he had already expressed his extreme Pay attention to of the matter by summoning officers above the Commander level for a meeting.

However, comparing the severity of the issues now, the grain shortage is clearly more serious.

"It seems we need to open up another grain-producing area, but where should we choose?" Lynd quickly made a decision in his mind, but selecting the location was somewhat difficult.

According to Lynd's idea, the new grain-producing area should be as close as possible, but all suitable locations for growing grain in the areas he controlled had already been utilized.

His obsession with grain even puzzled the locals of Summerhall, because Summerhall's grain output was severely surplus; apart from the lord's farmlands still growing grain, all other private farmers' fields no longer grew grain, and the grain farmers had all gone to nearby castle towns to work.

Facing the doubts of his vassals, Lynd did not explain too much, because he couldn't explain clearly.

He couldn't possibly tell those vassals that he knew after this long summer, the weather would enter a long winter, or even Eternal Winter.

If preparations were not made in advance, once Eternal Winter arrived, grain production would inevitably decrease significantly, leading to a great famine.

Once he said such words, it would certainly cause a huge stir throughout Westeros, and even Essos, because he was the Chosen One of the Seven, the incarnation of many deities, and his words were almost equivalent to prophecies that would come true one hundred percent.

This would cause unforeseen chain reactions of panic, and might even affect his plans, so he couldn't say anything; he could only find a way to solve the problem himself.

For this purpose, he planted grain in all cultivable areas within his territory.

A portion of the harvested grain was sold, but the vast majority was stored in underground caves using Ice Dragon Runes for reserves.

The magical metals brought by the Nameless King's memories just filled the void of Valyrian steel, allowing him to freely create Dragon Runes or other runic artifacts.

In addition, he also had Black Hollow develop cold-resistant grain varieties that could grow in winter, or methods to allow ordinary grains to grow normally in winter, such as having craftsmen restore greenhouse technology from his previous life.

Two options quickly surfaced in Lynd's mind, and he murmured to himself, "Since there isn't one here in Westeros, then I can only look to Essos.

Is it the Golden Plains? Or the Disputed Lands?"

"My Lord, what are the Golden Plains and the Disputed Lands?" Jon, who was responsible for taking meeting minutes, looked at Lynd in confusion and asked.

Lynd did not answer Jon's question; he tapped the table with his hand, and upon hearing the sound, everyone fell silent, as if their throats had been pressed with a stop button.

After a moment of silence, Lynd directly issued his decision: "All Seven Gods believers in the Chosen Legion of Calamity City are to be transferred back to Summerhall.

The legion will recruit new soldiers on site to reorganize the Chosen Legion.

Henceforth, the Chosen Legion of Summerhall will be called the Chosen of the Seven Legion, and the Chosen Legion of Calamity City will be called the Calamity Chosen Legion.
