Chapter 204 - Chapter 204: Bloody Horror at the Ball

Eric frowned and picked up the invitation on the stone stool.

Although he wasn't interested in the masquerade ball, he was quite interested in these women.

Receiving an invitation from the sorority house was just a small interlude upon entering the university.

After entering Metropolis University and confirming his dorm and classroom, Eric left.

Activating his super speed, he arrived at Justice Society Headquarters in an instant.

At this time, the Kryptonian Woman was still imprisoned in a special cell built by the Justice Society specifically for criminals.

After entering Justice Society Headquarters, Eric opened the room where she was being held.

The room was filled with green kryptonite, and the Kryptonian Woman was chained, unmoving.

The green kryptonite continuously weakened her body; feelings of weakness and exhaustion constantly assailed her nerves.

Trapped among so much green kryptonite, she didn't even have the strength to move a finger.

Upon hearing the door open, the Kryptonian Woman's weary face lifted, looking at Eric standing before her.

"You—"

The Kryptonian Woman looked at the expressionless Eric, parted her lips, wanting to say something, but ultimately said nothing.

"What is your name?"

After quietly observing her for a moment, Eric asked her.

"Rika!"

The Kryptonian Woman took a deep breath and told Eric her name.

Her formerly stern face now showed utter exhaustion, devoid of any trace of her previous dominance and decisive demeanor.

"Rika?"

Eric repeated her name, nodded, and asked her, "What is your relationship to Zod? Is he currently imprisoned in the Phantom Zone?"

As soon as General Zod was mentioned, Rika immediately fell silent, only breathing slightly and glaring at Eric.

"You—you won't get any information about General Zod from me!"

"Is that so?"

A cold sneer appeared on Eric's lips.

The next second, Rika felt a sharp pain in her chest.

The Kryptonian Woman looked down at her chest in astonishment, realizing it had been pierced by something sharp.

A sensation of helpless pain immediately overwhelmed her entire body.

Her already weakened body could no longer endure this sudden injury.

She even felt a slight faintness.

The sharp object, emitting a green glow and containing kryptonite, not only pierced her skin but also caused irreversible damage to her body.

Bright red blood was drawn into a syringe specially prepared by Eric.

Eric had no intention of killing her, at least not at this moment.

The sharp object inserted into her was merely a syringe for drawing her blood.

Because it contained green kryptonite, Rika felt an uncontrollable pain.

Once the syringe had drawn a tube of the Kryptonian Woman's blood, Eric grasped the syringe and pulled it out sharply.

"Ugh!"

The Kryptonian Woman, eyes closed and lips pale, let out a pained groan.

"For me, the one thing I don't lack is time. My patience will last until you reveal all the secrets you know."

Eric looked at the drawn Kryptonian Woman's blood in his hand, shook his head, and turned to walk out of the room.

"You'd best pray your body and mind can endure until then."

"Hoo-hoo! Hoo-hoo!"

After Eric left, the Kryptonian Woman opened her eyes, gasping for breath.

This guy!

Rika, enduring the pain in her body, watched Eric's disappearing back, a hint of resentment flickering in her eyes.

He was simply an inhuman bastard.

Did he treat even his own kind with such a ruthless attitude?

After drawing the Kryptonian Woman's blood, Eric walked out of the room where she was confined.

His original purpose was to extract her Kryptonian blood for research.

As for obtaining information, that was merely a secondary objective.

Even if she didn't speak for now, Eric had ways to make her reveal secrets.

It was just a matter of time.

He had plenty of time to continue wearing her down.

The next day, in the evening.

Eric attended the masquerade ball hosted by the sorority house.

Masquerade balls typically required attendees to dress up as their favorite characters.

Bunny girls, nurses, doctors, wild huntresses—

Generally, these roles, which could showcase makeup skills and express certain preferences, were the favorites of masquerade attendees.

"Dong!"

The door opened, and a long-legged bunny girl with a stunning figure stood inside, smiling slightly at Eric.

Eric hadn't dressed up specially; he merely wore a white jacket and a Batman mask on his face.

The Batman mask was something he had taken from Bruce Wayne's manor last time.

During his previous trip to Gotham, he had, out of curiosity, explored Bruce's manor.

Although he hadn't found Bruce disguised as Batman, it wasn't difficult for him to casually take one of his decorative masks.

"Wow! What is this?"

The bunny girl looked at Eric, who was wearing a Batman mask, in surprise.

"What is this? Batman or Owl? Never mind, whatever it is, it looks really cool! Now, even if you didn't have an invitation, I might still let you in!"

Eric ignored the bunny girl's words, pulled out the invitation, and flashed it in front of her.

"I usually don't like to be the one who breaks the rules."

Seeing the invitation in Eric's hand, the bunny girl's lips curved into a smile.

After entering the hall, which looked more like a luxurious villa than a sorority house, Eric narrowed his eyes, looking at the boys and girls inside, releasing their youthful hormones to the rhythm of the music.

The wild party hall was filled with the scent of hormones.

On a nearby sofa, several girls watched Eric walk in.

The girl who seemed to be the center of the group, dressed as an enchanting witch, saw Eric enter and a slight curve appeared on her lips.

The girl had captivating long legs and unforgettable beautiful eyes, and her striking appearance constantly drew the gaze of the men at the masquerade ball.

"I saw him in astronomy class on the first day; he must be Eric Kent."

"You can recognize him even with a mask on, Betty?"

Her friends nearby were somewhat puzzled that Betty could identify him even while he was wearing a mask.

The "Enchanting Witch" said to her friends, "After all, he's a well-known writer and quite famous among the new students, so it's hard not to notice him. Besides, his mask only covers part of his face. By analyzing his facial features combined with some behavioral details, isn't it normal to identify someone?"

"I think you should dress up as Agatha Christie, Betty, not a witch who seems completely unrelated to logic and deduction."

(Agatha Christie: The Queen of Detective Novels.)

A friend next to her complained.

"That's our difference. I desperately want to get rid of certain labels, while you keep trying to stick fixed labels on me."

Betty exhaled, saying to her friends.

Eric, being discussed by the new female students, didn't notice, but instead cast his gaze to the backyard behind the sorority house.

In the small swimming pool in the backyard, three girls were playing with a boy.

They were having a lot of fun, splashing water and playing around.

One of the girls even dove underwater in front of the boy, preparing to try some kind of joyful game.

The boy looked at the girl diving beneath him with some anticipation, just about to try this very exciting pleasure, when he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his lower body.

Blood immediately gushed out into the pool.

Unable to bear the pain, the boy let out a scream, flailing his limbs, trying to escape from the pool, but the two girls next to him revealed long fangs and pounced on the boy, followed by a flurry of bites.

"Ah ah ah ah! Help!"

The bitten boy let out a heart-wrenching scream.

But the sound was completely drowned out by the music in the ballroom.

Eric retracted his gaze, his brow furrowed.

Vampires?

For Eric, his impression of vampires in the DC world was: no different from the legendary vampires.

They possessed long fangs, drank human blood, feared sunlight, were incredibly strong, and high-ranking ones could fly.

He hadn't expected to encounter the legendary "vampires" on his second day of school.

After a moment of contemplation, he turned around and looked at the crowd.

He found that the hidden vampires were mostly female and belonged to the sorority house.

"The sorority house?"

After confirming that the so-called sorority house was likely a legendary vampire lair, Eric lost his desire to stay, turning to leave.

He was indeed somewhat interested in the so-called vampires.

Catching one or two for research wouldn't be bad.

But at this moment, taking action would cause countless problems, so he decided to wait until the ball ended.

He had only taken two steps when a figure blocked him.

The girl who had given him the invitation earlier, wearing a black masquerade mask, walked up to Eric.

"Handsome, are you leaving already?"

Eric looked at her, asking expressionlessly, "Otherwise?"

"I'd like to invite you to dance, may I?"

Eric didn't answer, merely watching the sorority house president with cold eyes.

"If you don't speak, then I'll take it as your consent."

The masked woman reached out, gently caressing Eric's chest, and slowly pressed herself against him.

Betty, observing the ambiguous interaction between Eric and the sorority house president from a distance, showed a look of disappointment.

"I thought the guy who wrote that kind of book would be someone with good taste; turns out he's just as rotten as other vulgar men."

The masked woman wrapped her arms around Eric's neck, leaned her head in, and sniffed Eric's scent, looking intoxicated.

"Your body is so delicious and alluring, like sweet cheese. I—I really like it."

Saying this, she brought her mouth to Eric's neck, opened it, revealing her fangs, and lunged to bite his neck.

She originally thought she would enjoy delicious blood the next second, but what happened next was beyond her expectation.

Eric extended his thumb and forefinger, prying open her mouth, which was about to bite down.

"Sorry, I don't like people getting their saliva on my body."

"Mm?!"

With her mouth held open by his fingers, the masked woman could only make muffled sounds, trying to speak.

Under the incredulous gazes of Betty and the others, Eric extended his other hand, grasped her neck, and twisted gently.

"Crunch!"

The masked woman's body fell to the ground with a "thud."

The dull thud as she hit the ground finally attracted the attention of the others.

The men and women dancing in the ballroom looked over, and what met their eyes was the masked woman lying in front of Eric.

The bewildered crowd instantly froze.

A girl sitting next to Betty stood up in horror, pointing at Eric tremblingly and saying, "He—he killed Irene!"
