Chapter 64 - Chapter 61 Spotted Dove

Clang, clang~

That was the sound of a sword breaking into several pieces and falling to the ground.

"Your swordsmanship is quite good, even comparable to my 'Mugetsu-ryu' style."

The dove slowly sheathed her longsword. "It's a pity your sword is too ordinary; it can't withstand my strikes."

Erza dropped the broken sword in her hand. Ordinary weapons were indeed insufficient to withstand a powerful swordsman like Ikaruga, but what she had in abundance was weapons.

Costume Change Magic: Black Feather Armor

In the blink of an eye, Erza's ordinary knight armor was replaced with black armor with a pair of wings, and she pointed her black-feathered sword at Ikaruga.

Seeing that the Fairy Queen was using her true abilities, the spotted dove dared not be negligent.

With his left hand holding the sword to his side and his right hand lightly pressing the hilt, the dove lowered his upper body slightly and then unleashed a sword move that could cleave through space.

Moonless Style: Sword Flash!

Her swordplay was so fast that it left no trace, and even Simon and the others, who were on guard against the dove, could not see the speed at which she struck the sword.

The characteristic of the Mugetsu-ryu swordsmanship is speed, so fast that it can hit the target without the target even noticing it, and even further, it can sever the target's nerves without damaging the body.

If it were Erza in the past, she would definitely have been unable to withstand such fast and terrifying swordsmanship.

However, things are different now. Erza, whose swordsmanship and physique have both improved, easily caught the bright sword light with her eyes.

The Mugetsu-ryu swordsmanship is indeed fast, but Erza is even faster now!

A sharp metallic clang echoed as the surging sword energy sliced a huge gap in the corridor ceiling.

The figure in the kimono gracefully retreated. Since completing her apprenticeship, this was the first time Ikaruga had seen someone successfully block her earnest slash. The long-lost joy made her so excited that her hand holding the sword trembled slightly.

There are too few swordsmen in this world, and Ikaruga longs to fight against pure swordsmen.

Unfortunately, Ikaruga's expectations could not be fulfilled by Erza. Although she possessed superb swordsmanship, Erza was more of a mage.

She drew her sword and attacked again. With a single step, Banjiu moved forward several meters quickly. Although she was wearing heavy wooden clogs, it did not affect her light steps and movements at all.

"Moonless Style: Multiple Sword Flashes!"

It was an extension of the sword move from before; the multiple strikes were even faster and more powerful than before.

Erza remained expressionless, flicked her wrist, and swung down her black feather sword, which was wrapped in a jet-black luster, unleashing a cross-shaped slash that severed all the approaching sword energy.

Seemingly anticipating this, the dove leaped into the air and used the twisting motion of its body to propel its longsword, unleashing a full-force crescent-shaped slash.

"Moonless Flow - Yaksha Flashes Through the Sky!"

With the crescent moon overhead, Erza swiftly drew another black feather sword from her magical space, and the combined power of the two swords instantly shattered the crescent moon above her head.

Seeing that its attack had been neutralized again, the dove no longer held back and used its strongest move, sheathing its longsword and slashing out once more.

"The Ultimate Technique of the Moonless Style: Garuda Flame!"

This sword strike was accompanied by a large amount of high-temperature flames and contained an astonishingly sharp edge.

However, just like Udarudas's misjudgment of Gray, thanks to Natsu's frequent challenges, high-temperature flames are nothing new to Erza.

With her armored wings flapping, Erza showed no fear, wielding her twin swords to stir up air currents and break through the fiery sword aura that was burning so intensely that even space itself began to distort.

"Black Feather Sword - Eclipse and Lunar Retracement!"

In an instant, crimson and dark blue sword marks bloomed on the chest of the dove, her kimono shattered on the spot, leaving crisscrossing wounds on her snow-white skin, and the spurting blood was like blooming blood-red flowers.

The turtledove fell to the ground with a thud, her life experiences of more than twenty years flashing before her eyes.

When was that?

In his pursuit of an upright swordsmanship, he unknowingly became a shameful assassin.

What brought me back to my original aspirations was a complete failure.

"I have lost."

Ikaruga staggered to her feet, clutching her chest. She knew why Erza hadn't killed her. As a loser who had been spared, Ikaruga spoke candidly.

"I don't know the specifics, but Gerald said that in order to revive a black mage using the [R System], in addition to a huge amount of magic power, a sacrifice with the qualifications of a 'Ten Wizards' is also needed."

"You are the sacrifice chosen by Gerald, Fairy Queen."

Before Erza could even speak, the hot-tempered Wally loudly greeted Jellal.

"Seven years ago, he used the lives of his companions to force Erza to leave, and seven years later, he wants to use Erza as a sacrifice to resurrect the Dark Mages."

"That bastard! What does he take Erza for?!"

Simon and Hugh never imagined that Gerald would have such a devilish idea.

Miriamina was quite nonchalant. After all, Jellal had already been captured, and even the captain of the "Three Ravens" guarding the Tower of Paradise, Izayoi, had been defeated. The other two were probably in no better shape.

Freedom was within reach, and Miriam was overjoyed. She couldn't wait to leave this place of sorrow and raise lots and lots of cats.

"Hey! Kitty!"

Catwoman suddenly charged forward, trying to pull the snow leopard-colored kitten that had suddenly appeared in her sight into her arms, completely ignoring the white-haired boy who was holding the kitten.

Noah pressed one hand against Miliana's head; if he hadn't been oblivious to the malice, he would have knocked her unconscious with a slap.

Seeing the catwoman's expectant face, wanting to pet him, Cheese kindly stretched out his little paw and touched her hand.

Wow! It's so soft!

Miriam was so excited she almost jumped up to the ceiling; her love for cats was the obsession that kept her going in the Tower of Paradise.

Miriamina was overjoyed to finally meet a cat, and she picked up Cheese and rubbed her face against it.

Erza came to Noah's side, looked at the happy Miriam Anna with satisfaction, and asked the people around her, "When did you arrive?"

"When you tell them stories."

Noah didn't say much, but he was thinking that he must beat up Jellal when he had the chance, not for any other reason than to avenge Erza.

As if reading Noah's thoughts, Erza shook her head and said, "He has already been taken to the Council and will receive the punishment he deserves."

"It's hard to say."

Noah shrugged and looked at the dove. "You've answered Erza's question about the sacrifice, so answer one more question for me."

"Where does the Tower of Paradise get its magic power?"

The dove nodded. "The amount of magic power required to activate the [R System] is too enormous. Only the Magic Council has the ability to mobilize magic power of this scale."

Upon hearing this, Erza immediately understood why Noah's words had such a profound meaning.

In the council, only council members are qualified to mobilize large-scale magic, and now there is one council member who claims to be Gerald's twin brother.

"Zek Rein, he's in cahoots with Gerald!"

"They're not a group; they're the same person."

Noya was about to tell Erza about his thoughts and magic, explaining that because of his status as a council member, Makarov had personally gone to the council headquarters to keep an eye on Zeke Rein and Jellal.

Noah's task was to find the last Tower of Paradise and obtain evidence that could expose Zeke Rayne.

With the witness of the spotted dove, Gerard's last layer of disguise was useless.

With Erza's introduction, Noah and Simon got to know each other, and then prepared to call Natsu and the others who were wandering around the tower, as it was time to leave.

Just as Noah turned around, a strange and deadly sense of crisis suddenly surged into his heart.

High above the Tower of Paradise, clouds surged and the wind howled.

A sacred light, like a judgment, descended from the sky, irresistibly piercing through the atmosphere and clouds, and falling straight down towards the Tower of Paradise with overwhelming force.

Snowy the hamster, who was leisurely munching on potato chips on the boat, was so frightened by the light that her fur stood on end.

Snow White recognized what it was; it had seen that light once in its hundreds of years of mouse life, and it remembered it vividly.

"Squeak squeak squeak! (Magical Spirit Power!)
