Chapter 137 - Chapter 137: Lala’s Awakening

Chapter 137: Lala's Awakening

"You really think that's possible? He's like the heavens—an insurmountable existence. What could they possibly use to avenge themselves with?"

Seeing that dismissive, condescending look in Gid's eyes, Franklin patiently explained, "Well, Father-in-law, have you considered that maybe he's been hiding his true strength all along—just waiting for the day when he could surpass you and appear out of nowhere to avenge his fallen clan?"

Gid stared at Franklin's earnest expression for a second—then burst out laughing. He laughed so hard he had to wipe tears from his eyes, and even when he stopped, one glance at Franklin's serious face set him off again.

After quite a while, Gid finally managed to calm down. "Don't overthink it. My combat power is measured in the billions. His base strength is five hundred and thirty thousand—that's still a bit short of impressive."

"Uh… but what if he can transform three times? What if, after transforming, his power surpasses one hundred million?"

Gid waved his hand, smiling. "Don't be ridiculous. That's impossible—at least, I've never seen such an absurd leap in power. You have to understand, every additional digit in combat power is an incredibly difficult breakthrough. Jumping three full levels in an instant? Unrealistic.

"Even if he could temporarily boost his combat power that much, our levels of existence aren't even on the same plane. That kind of gap can't be bridged by raw power alone.

"Just take my domain as an example. Unless one's power can completely crush and shatter it, within the domain, I am the king. Matter reconstruction, manipulation of all things, temporary time reversal, empty-space slicing, spatial transference, dimensional compression—none of those can be expressed through combat power figures."

Hearing that explanation, Franklin finally let out a sigh of relief. "Then that's good to hear. But I should still remind you, Father-in-law—you're not truly a strong one yet."

"You think I don't know that?" Gid gave him a faint smirk. "The higher you climb, the more you realize your own insignificance. That lesson is timeless. I was planning to lecture you about that, but it seems you already understand it better than most. Guess there's no point.

"For now, we just wait. If someone really does track this bloodline energy and comes after us—if we can fight, we'll fight. If not—well, dying's not the worst outcome."

Seeing Gid's calm, almost carefree expression, Franklin couldn't help sighing in resignation. He really had been a bit reckless this time.

Time passed minute by minute. Floating in the air, Lala slowly descended back onto the bed. A burst of energy pulsed outward, and both Momo and Nana were blown backward—but before they hit the wall, Gid casually waved his hand, setting them gently back on their feet.

When Momo saw Franklin standing unharmed beside her father, she finally relaxed. Even Nana, who usually couldn't stand Franklin, felt genuine relief seeing that he'd made it through Gid's "interrogation" in one piece.

Lala slowly sat up, stretching her arms in a big yawn—only to freeze when she noticed the room full of people staring at her. Her eyes darted around the room, and she suddenly panicked.

"Papa? Why are you here too? Weren't you supposed to come a few days later?"

Looking at his daughter's guilty, caught-in-the-act expression, Gid almost scolded her—but the words melted before they left his mouth.

"So, your Origin Bloodline has awakened, huh? Do you feel any discomfort?"

Lala's eyes widened. "Papa, it was my idea! I asked Franklin to help me awaken my Origin Bloodline! If you're going to punish anyone, punish me!"

The moment she said that, Gid's barely recovered good mood vanished again. He smacked Franklin on the back of the head.

"You really are something, huh? All three of my precious daughters stand up for you—what's next, you planning to take all the family's treasures too?"

The more he thought about it, the more annoyed he got. Another kick to Franklin's backside finally helped him vent his irritation.

"I've already agreed to let it go. Franklin's taking the blame for everything—so that's that. But until your marriage is officially confirmed, anything like this in the real world is strictly forbidden. What you do in the game, I don't care.

"Momo, Nana—you two are still too young. If Franklin dares lay a finger on either of you, I'll personally break his fifth limb. That's non-negotiable."

Momo's and Nana's faces both turned bright red, but then Nana realized what he was implying and puffed up her cheeks in outrage. "Dad! What are you even saying?! How could something like that come out of your mouth? This pervert's juggling multiple women, and instead of scolding him, you're siding with him?!"

Gid waved a hand dismissively. "You kids today play around too much—I can't keep up anymore. As long as none of you are getting hurt, I'll let it slide."

Lala, meanwhile, was still utterly confused—and a little curious. She had no idea what on earth had happened while she was unconscious that could make her father handle things so… bizarrely.

"Don't worry, Father-in-law. I'd never do something like that. I'm a responsible man—those kinds of things would never happen with me."

Seeing that smug grin creeping across Franklin's face again, Gid kicked him once more.

"Don't laugh. I'm still in a bad mood. When I get back, I'll contact Sephie. If you can't pass her test, you might as well dig your own grave—because I'll personally come to Earth and end you myself."

Having said his piece, Gid turned his gaze toward Lala.

"Lala, stop worrying about that brat. Tell me—your Origin Bloodline's awakened now, right? Do you feel anything off in your body?"

Now that she saw Franklin safe and even somewhat approved by her father, Lala finally relaxed. Smiling, she nodded.

"The bloodline's awakened, and I feel perfectly fine. Actually, I think my life level has risen with it—I feel like my strength is almost on par with Lin's now."

Gid looked between the two of them, then nodded in acknowledgment.

"Indeed, your power has grown a lot. Still a bit below this kid's, but not bad. Once he levels up a bit more, he has a cultivation method that can help you improve quickly and safely.

"For now, your current strength is enough—you can easily defeat anyone under fifty thousand combat power. On Earth, that's more than enough to protect yourself."

"But I want to help Franklin fight off all the bad guys who want to tear us apart. I'm still weaker than him—if there's a threat he can't handle, how can I possibly help him?"

Before she could continue, Gid gave Franklin yet another kick. Franklin hurried to stop her.

"Rest assured, Father-in-law, I'll raise my strength right away. Those petty Saiyans will be no problem. I'll take them down easily so Lala doesn't have to worry. And that Frieza guy—I'll deal with him within a year."

"Oh, right," Gid said, frowning slightly. "That reminds me—I've been meaning to ask. How do you know that the Ice Demon prodigy's name is Frieza? Did I ever mention that name to you?"
