Chapter 165: Gid Leaves
Just as Momo was about to say something, the door behind her opened from the inside. She instantly shut her mouth.
"You kid can guess everything—so can you guess that I'm already here?"
The door to Lala's room swung open, and Gid was standing inside with a cold expression.
"Uh… hello, Father-in-law."
Seeing Franklin's bright smile, Gid looked utterly helpless. "I can't control you anymore. Tell me—what Divine Ability awakened?"
"Reporting to Father-in-law, it's related to the soul. The soul becoming tangible—Spirit-Form Manifestation."
"Soul becoming tangible? What a strange thing… nothing is normal anymore. Whatever. I came here for two reasons: first, to ask about the Divine Ability; second, to tell you that your bounty in the Dark World just increased again. Someone put a bounty of ten thousand supreme-grade spirit stones on your head.
"That amount of spirit stones is enough to tempt even me. So, in the coming days, some unexpectedly strong people might descend upon Blue Star.
"The Dark World isn't something I want to interfere with. I really can't even manage it. Zastin is no longer strong enough. So you'll have to rely on yourself.
"Also, if possible, try your best to keep any battles away from Lala, Momo, and Nana. I don't want them harmed in the slightest.
"I'll be leaving soon. I received a notice from above. As the new ruler of this galaxy, I need to report to a higher-level King of Worlds.
"Before leaving, I'll issue a universal announcement forbidding anyone from destroying Blue Star. Anyone who disobeys will have their entire race exterminated. As for any powerful individuals who still descend here, you'll have to deal with them yourself."
Seeing the trace of worry hidden in Gid's eyes, Franklin nodded with extreme seriousness.
"Father-in-law, don't worry. For Lala's sake, no matter who comes, I won't back down.
"With my current strength, if I fight with my life on the line, anyone below ten million battle power cannot beat me.
"And I'm planning to raise my strength again during this period. My limit should increase further."
Hearing this, Gid looked Franklin up and down repeatedly.
"Your battle power can reach ten million? You're bragging, right?"
Seeing the disbelief deep in Gid's eyes, Franklin smiled as he explained, "Like I said—if I burn everything. It's similar to a weaker version of your Debiluke clan's 'All-Out Strike.'
"My version burns slowly—and it can't be stopped. Unless I consume some heaven-and-earth creation-type treasure, it will keep burning."
Gid stared at Franklin for a long moment, satisfaction filling his gaze.
"Good kid. Your resolve is ruthless enough. But I still don't want you using that move."
After thinking for a moment, Gid waved his hand casually. A red fruit appeared in his palm, and he tossed it to Franklin.
"Found this long ago. Don't know its name, don't know its effects, don't know if it's poisonous.
"But it helped me break through a bottleneck once. Maybe it's some kind of creation treasure. I'm giving it to you."
Franklin examined the fruit overflowing with spiritual energy, sealing it completely with his own energy. Seeing Gid about to leave, Franklin quickly called out:
"Uh, Father-in-law—you're going to see the Northern King of Worlds, right?"
Gid immediately turned sharply. "You know that? Don't tell me you even know about the Kings of Worlds?"
Seeing Gid's stunned expression, Franklin scratched his head with a smile.
"Not really. The only one I know even a little about is the Northern King. He's pretty friendly as far as I know.
"If you're reporting to him, you can approach him through his hobby—his one and only hobby: terrible jokes. Extremely lame jokes. The kind nobody laughs at."
Gid felt dazed for a moment. He originally thought Franklin was simply talented, but now it seemed the kid was full of secrets too.
Exhaling lightly, Gid waved his hand dismissively and turned to leave.
"Extremely lame jokes… I get it. Thanks for the warning. If things go smoothly this time, your benefits won't be small."
Watching Gid vanish, Franklin rubbed his chin, lost in thought.
"If the public ruler of the galaxy can meet the Northern King of Worlds… then I definitely have the chance to learn the Kaio-ken and Spirit Bomb in the future."
"Franklin, you really are amazing. Even Dad can't do anything with you anymore."
Franklin snapped out of his thoughts immediately.
"Momo, don't joke about that. I put in a lot of effort to fool him. Let's end the topic here. Also, why haven't I seen Nana at all? Where is she?"
Knowing he was changing the subject but still laughing softly, Momo explained:
"Nana is delivering Ms. Hiratsuka and Kotegawa home. It's also the perfect chance for me to set things up for you and Sis… and to let Nana scout out their home addresses."
Seeing the faint pink glow in Momo's eyes, Franklin let out a slow breath. As expected of the strongest wingman of a little sister.
"I really have to thank you, Momo. If not for you, I don't know how long things would've dragged on with Lala. And my strength wouldn't have skyrocketed like this…"
"What happened between you and Sis? What do you mean your strength skyrocketed?"
Hearing Nana's voice from the staircase, Franklin immediately shut his mouth and started thinking fast.
"It's nothing. I meant that if I hadn't gotten engaged to Lala, my strength wouldn't have risen so quickly."
Although Nana looked doubtful, she remembered how Franklin went from an ordinary human to having thirty thousand battle power in just a week, and she herself felt shocked.
"So how did you do it? How can your strength rise so fast? Don't tell me you burned away your future potential?"
Seeing Nana's curious eyes, Franklin smiled mysteriously.
"Want to know? If you want to know, stop calling me a beast. As long as you agree, I'll tell you now."
Seeing Franklin's teasing expression, Nana puffed up her cheeks.
"Beast. You ARE a beast. No one can change that. If you won't tell me, I'll find out myself. I live with you every day—I refuse to believe I can't uncover it."
Huffing, Nana stormed into Lala's room, opened the wardrobe, and slipped straight into the hidden subspace.
Momo chuckled softly.
"I'll go comfort Nana. Franklin, you should talk to Ryōko next. I heard everything you said to Mikan—since she's your honorary big sister, a family member, you can't play favorites. Some things need to be made clear."
After speaking, Momo closed Lala's room door, leaving Franklin alone in the second-floor hallway.
