Chapter 295: Yamai Sisters 4
Countless wooden longswords instantly formed in the sky, flames igniting them in the same moment. A sky-blotting wave of fire bore down with scorching heat.
To Franklin's surprise, Kaguya—fueled by her boundless chuunibyou spirit and the tiny sliver of domain authority he had granted—had somehow tapped into the sword intent hidden deep within his Sword Dao domain.
"Yuzuru, now you'll taste the baptism of divine power bestowed by the false god!"
The next instant, endless flaming longswords—laced with traces of sword intent—streaked downward.
Yuzuru scrambled to respond. With a casual wave, the ground surged upward. Two massive sandy hands reached skyward to seize the barrage of swords, but the moment they made contact, the hands were pierced straight through.
As Kaguya had declared, longswords carrying sword intent truly qualified as attacks bearing divine power.
Seeing the rain of flaming swords hurtling toward her, a flicker of genuine fear appeared in Yuzuru's eyes.
Franklin snapped his fingers lightly, erasing every flaming longsword from the sky.
"Enough already. If you two want to fight, go farther out. Keep wrecking things here and no one will be able to relax on this beach."
As the sky full of swords vanished into nothing, Kaguya instantly glared at Franklin in a huff.
"Franklin, you're playing favorites! You only said that because you wanted to block the attack for Yuzuru. I was this close to winning."
Seeing Kaguya in her bikini, standing atop a wooden sword in the sky, Franklin snapped his fingers again and instantly teleported her in front of him.
His finger lightly pressed against the nape of her neck, slowly tracing down to her waist.
Kaguya let out a startled yelp and jumped forward a step.
Her cheeks flushed bright red as she glared furiously at Franklin. "Jerk Franklin, what the hell are you doing?"
"Nothing much. Just missed hearing that cute little cry of yours."
At his shameless expression, Kaguya instinctively tried to attack him with sand,
but when nothing happened, she simply lunged at him.
"Jerk Franklin, take this…"
The next moment, a series of vines instantly bound her into a giant rice dumpling. Looking back, it was Yuzuru—who she had nearly defeated moments ago.
"Thanks. Thank you for the assist, Franklin. Yuzuru will take Kaguya away now."
"It's your fault, Franklin! Now I'm on the losing side again."
Seeing the two about to start fighting once more, Franklin waved lightly and erased the vines binding Kaguya.
"Can't you two just behave? Why not take a page from Yoshino and Yoshinon? I'm temporarily sealing your protections.
If you want to battle, do it out on the open sea. Don't make too much chaos on this little beach, and absolutely stay within a hundred kilometers."
Feeling the protections temporarily vanish, the two glared at each other, then shoved their way shoulder-to-shoulder toward the ocean.
"Anger. Kaguya, you're being completely unreasonable—you actually ambushed me."
"You're the one! Those vines were already creeping toward my feet. If I hadn't reacted fast, you would've toyed with me."
Franklin rubbed his forehead helplessly and reminded them again, "Having powers doesn't mean you have to fight. You could cooperate and do something meaningful instead."
"Hmph, no way. Yuzuru's an idiot—I'm not cooperating with her."
"Fury. Kaguya's the idiot. She'd only drag me down."
Franklin pressed a hand to his forehead in resignation and stopped paying attention to them. He turned to Nagisa beside him, whose eyes were still wide in lingering shock.
"Ahem… Miss Nagisa… Miss Nagisa…"
Only when Franklin snapped his fingers lightly in front of her did she finally snap out of it.
"Miss Nagisa, you have the same abilities now. You can go try doing something different with Yoshino and Yoshinon."
At his words, Nagisa fully came around. She looked at Kaguya and Yuzuru fighting again in the distance,
still shaken. Then she turned toward Yoshino and Yoshinon by the water—they were building an enormous castle.
With slow shaping, constant refinement, and continuous decoration using the five elements, they presented a stark contrast to the battling Yamai sisters.
"Thank you for going to the trouble, Mr. Franklin. I understand."
Watching Nagisa run toward Yoshino and Yoshinon, Franklin's lips curved into a sly smile.
Once someone experiences miraculous power and a completely different world, their thinking changes dramatically. The same would happen to Miss Nagisa.
Just as Franklin thought this, he felt a tap on his shoulder. Turning, he saw Kurumi Tokisaki in a black bikini, watching the distant battle between Kaguya and Yuzuru with open curiosity.
Sensing Franklin's gaze, Kurumi's cheeks flushed faintly. She lightly pressed a hand to her chest.
"Mr. Franklin, please restrain that aggressive stare of yours. It's very rude."
Called out so directly, Franklin gave a light cough and looked away.
"Why are you so late? Need help with sunscreen?"
Kurumi smiled and shook her head.
"No need to trouble you, Mr. Franklin. A clone already took care of it for me.
Compared to that, I'm far more interested in trying the abilities you gave them."
Looking at Kaguya—her chuunibyou soul blazing as she conjured endless domains of fire that carried world-destroying flames—and Yuzuru, whose imagination was lacking but who compensated with limitless energy, commanding endless seawater to surge skyward—
Franklin rubbed his forehead helplessly. Then he suddenly remembered that Kurumi herself had gone through a rather long chuunibyou phase.
The absolute domain control Kaguya had just shown wasn't impossible for Kurumi either.
After a moment's thought, Franklin formed an array in his palm and opened even more domain authority to her.
He was curious what Kurumi could do with it—perhaps the domain's uses weren't as narrow as he'd assumed.
"Kurumi-chan, please take my hand. Because you're a special existence, I'm going to give you a bit more power.
I don't know what you plan to do, but I have a feeling you'll create something that surprises even me."
Without any resistance, Kurumi gently took his hand. The array entered her body, and Franklin saw her eyes instantly widen.
"…It feels like I can do anything…"
Seeing the golden glow that instantly lit up in Kurumi's eyes, Franklin realized he might have made a mistake.
Right now, Kurumi could probably choose to go straight back thirty years and deal with the origin spirit.
Feeling his gaze, Kurumi's excited expression quickly faded.
"Please rest assured, Mr. Franklin. I won't choose to go back to the past. After being in contact with you for so long, I do understand one thing—it's best not to act impulsively when you're not certain of success.
In my current state, with no knowledge of the past, I wouldn't even know where the origin spirit is. Going back would be completely pointless…"
