Chapter 290 - Chapter 290 Wilpa 03's Intellect

Ares came before Prometheus, who was bound to the giant rock, and looked up at him.

The Titan god clearly noticed the newcomer's presence. He slowly lowered his head, his chest and abdomen, completely torn open by the divine eagle, exposed. One could directly see his bloody internal cavity and stark white ribs, making for a terrifying sight.

Looking down at Ares, a strange sound escaped Prometheus's throat. He opened his mouth, but only a "crunching" sound came out. Having not spoken for many years, his vocal organs were severely damaged, and he could no longer speak complete sentences.

Seeing this, Ares silently took out the waterskin from his waist. He performed a magic trick on it, turning the clear water inside into a healing magical liquid. Then, he flew up to Prometheus, uncorked the waterskin, and forcefully poured the entire bag of clear water into Prometheus's mouth.

The clear water passed through Prometheus's throat and then dripped directly into his empty chest and abdominal cavities. A miraculous thing happened: as the clear water touched the wounds inflicted by the divine eagle, it transformed into bursts of green light. These green lights flowed like liquid to the damaged parts of Prometheus's body, then rapidly transformed into muscle tissue and internal organs. Within a mere two minutes, Prometheus's body was restored to its complete state.

At this point, the tormented Titan god was finally able to speak. He swallowed, then looked at Ares and said,

"Thank you for healing me, Ares. Although this is merely treating the symptoms and not the root cause, you have at least made my nights more bearable. The itching sensation when these wounds heal always makes me uncomfortable. But you didn't come here just to pity me and heal me, did you?"

"Prometheus, after being hung here for so many years, you still refuse to bow to Zeus, do you?"

Ares glanced at him, then asked.

"Heh heh, why should I bow to him? He has punished me for so many years; my situation can't possibly get worse than it is now. As long as humans continue to live stubbornly in this world, constantly multiplying and progressing, it proves I am right. Zeus will understand one day how foolish he was to want to destroy humanity directly."

Prometheus let out a long breath, then looked at Ares again and said,

"What's more, with 'filial' children like you and Athena, Zeus will surely have a very happy future."

Ares pondered for a moment, then asked, "What are humans to you?"

"Humans? Humans are my children, of course." Even though Prometheus was bound, when asked this question, he still proudly raised his head and declared to Ares, "They are the species closest to the gods in the world, but in my opinion, they are even more excellent than the gods, because they have flaws just like the gods, yet they can learn lessons and correct their mistakes through continuous reproduction and failure!"

"Heh heh." Upon hearing Prometheus's words, Ares suddenly laughed, a very peculiar laugh.

Prometheus felt uneasy under his gaze and couldn't help but ask, "Ares, what are you laughing at? You were also on humanity's side, just like me, back then, weren't you?"

"Nothing, I just think you've only told half the story." As Ares spoke, he suddenly said, "To you, humans are not only proud children and creations, but also perfect wombs, right?"

Prometheus's expression froze, then he asked in confusion, "I don't understand what nonsense you're talking about. I'm not like your father Zeus, or your brothers and uncles. No matter what, I wouldn't be so deranged as to harm my own children."

"Heh heh, that's true. Most people can't be as widely involved, have as many hobbies, and have illegitimate children all over the world, like Zeus, Poseidon, and Apollo."

Ares's tone shifted, and he suddenly said,

"Prometheus, when did you ensnare my extraordinarily intelligent sister into your own trap?"

Prometheus closed his mouth. He looked at Ares and said,

"I don't quite understand what you are saying."

"Not long ago." Ares stood before him with his hands clasped behind his back in mid-air, replying, "After seeing some unexpected information, I went over everything I've experienced in my life from the beginning and found something fishy... Prometheus, ultimately, the actions Athena and I took back then were inextricably linked to your prophecy, weren't they?"

"I'm only responsible for prophecies; I can't control what you and Athena do." Prometheus replied.

"Yes, just responsible for prophecies, the God of Prophecy, what a damn awesome and offensive divine position." Ares sighed, "But after Apollo took over from you, I had a good relationship with him and often asked him about future events... How come he couldn't predict that there would be an awesome Kratos who would kill all of us gods of Greece?"

After speaking, Ares stared intently at the God of Fire Theft, adding,

"There's only one answer: this prophecy was entirely fabricated by you."

"You wanted the future to unfold this way, so you prepared everything, because you knew that as long as you put things where Athena could reach them, with her ambition, even if she knew it was dangerous and possibly a trick, she wouldn't be able to resist interacting with and using the things you left behind, allowing events to progress step by step in the direction you prophesied. You knew that for Athena, what was most intolerable was not the potential danger, but her inability to personally overthrow Zeus. The hatred for killing her mother, the resentment of being demeaned, Athena was inherently in an irreconcilable opposition to Zeus."

"Heh, I think you shouldn't be called the God of Prophecy. To be able to turn illusory lies into reality with a single prophecy, that kid Hermes can only grovel before you. You should be called the God of Deception."

Hearing Ares's series of statements, Prometheus remained silent. He thought for a long time before slowly replying,

"Ares's conjectures are, after all, just conjectures. I'm curious, what is the basis for your conjectures? Do you, by any chance, have decisive evidence?"

"Evidence? I see you won't give up until you're in the Underworld."

Ares leaned closer to Prometheus and whispered in his ear,

"Am I right? The intelligent entity left by the Wandering Star Starship Velber 03?"
