The Kong Gun descended like divine judgment, and Doflamingo refused to meet it on his knees.
I was already a terror of the seas when this brat was suckling at his mother's breast, the Heavenly Demon thought, rage and pride warring in his chest. I will NOT be looked down upon by a child!
With only two-thirds of his core strength remaining in his body, Donquixote Doflamingo detonated everything he had left. His Conqueror's Haki surged to heights he'd never reached before—not in battles against Admirals, not in wars against rival Yonko, not even in his darkest moments of desperation.
The sheer pressure of his will made reality itself recoil. His pink feather coat billowed upward as if caught in an invisible storm. His blonde hair stood on end. The very air around him warped and shimmered with released spiritual energy.
"Sen Kō Hametsu no Yari: Kami Koroshi!" (Thousand Arrows Tyrant Bullet: God Slaughter!)
The massive white wave that had been surging upward suddenly compressed under the dual blessing of Conqueror's and Armament Haki. What had been a chaotic flood refined itself into thousands of individual strands—each one a razor-sharp thread wrapped in layers of black spiritual armor.
The threads shot skyward like a forest of spears, rising to challenge the descending Kong Gun.
Luffy felt the resistance immediately. Even in Fourth Gear, even with Kensei channeling the Chikara Chikara no Mi's (Strength-Strength Fruit's) power into his body, the descent stopped. The mountain-sized fist ground against Doflamingo's ultimate defense, but couldn't push through.
Damn it! Luffy gritted his teeth, pouring more strength into the attack. I absorbed a third of his power—how is he still this strong?!
But in a pure contest of Haki—will against will, spirit against spirit—Doflamingo's decades of experience and fanatical conviction held firm. The white threads didn't just resist; they began to push back.
The Kong Gun started rising.
Inch by inch, Luffy was being forced upward, his overwhelming mass advantage neutralized by the Heavenly Demon's superior mastery. Sweat poured down Luffy's face as he realized he couldn't maintain the technique much longer.
And Doflamingo seized the opening like a predator tasting blood.
"I am Donquixote Doflamingo!" His voice thundered across the alien space. "Witness the Soul-Severing Spear: God Slaughter!"
The massive white wave compressed further at its base, the thousands of threads gathering and weaving together. They formed shapes—cruel, elegant, and utterly lethal. Spears. Hundreds of them, each one a masterwork of three-color Haki woven so tightly that they appeared solid as steel.
Each spear was identical in construction and nature, imbued with the same devastating power. And they all pointed at Luffy.
BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM—
The volley launched like a firing squad's synchronized execution.
Luffy's Kong Gun finally collapsed under the pressure, the massive fist dissipating into ordinary rubber limbs. But the enemy's attack was already in motion, black spears screaming through the air with murderous intent.
Can't take them head-on! Luffy's instincts screamed. Move! MOVE!
He kicked off the air itself in Fourth Gear, using his enhanced leg strength to ricochet away from the first wave of spears. His body twisted mid-flight, bouncing between invisible platforms as he tried to put distance between himself and the barrage.
But something was wrong.
The spears followed.
"What the—?!" Luffy's eyes widened as a black spear curved through the air, adjusting its trajectory to intercept his landing point. He kicked off again, changing direction—
And three more spears were already waiting for him.
They're predicting where I'll go! The realization hit him too late. He's using Observation Haki on EVERY SINGLE SPEAR!
The Straw Hat Captain paid dearly for his delayed understanding.
Two spears punched through his arms—right through the Armament Haki coating his flesh—and burst out the other side in sprays of crimson. Another gouged a crater in his side. A fourth grazed his neck, missing his jugular by inches.
Luffy's body became a canvas of wounds, holes appearing in his torso and limbs as more and more spears found their mark. Only his last-second instinct to protect his heart with both arms kept him from being killed outright.
"Listen well, Straw Hat boy." Doflamingo's voice cut through the chaos, cold and absolute. His aura intensified, climbing to even greater heights as more spears materialized around him. "In this world, only Haki can overcome everything!"
It was his creed. His religion. The philosophy that had carried him from fallen Celestial Dragon to Underworld King to Shichibukai. Haki was supreme. Haki was absolute.
And to prove it, he conjured an army.
Nearly ten thousand black spears appeared around Doflamingo, each one wrapped in three-color Haki, each one capable of killing a Vice Admiral. They hung in the air like a forest of death, all pointed at Luffy.
"The Celestial Dragons are invincible," Doflamingo declared, his grin manic and terrible. "The gods are INVINCIBLE!"
The spears fired in waves—hundreds, then thousands, filling the sky with black streaks.
Luffy tried to dodge. Tried to weave through the gaps. But there were no gaps. The spears predicted every movement, cut off every escape route, herded him like prey into an ever-shrinking cage.
His injuries multiplied. His movements slowed. Blood loss and exhaustion dragged at his limbs like chains.
Within minutes, the black spears had formed a complete sphere around him—a prison of Haki-infused death with no exit.
"Hahahaha!" Doflamingo's laugh echoed across the Domain. "Die just like your brother Ace! Let the world see that the D Clan bleeds and dies like anyone else!"
The sphere contracted, spears driving inward from every angle.
Monkey D. Luffy felt the same terror he'd experienced five years ago at Marineford. The same helpless awareness that he was about to die, that his strength wasn't enough, that he'd failed—
Is this really it? Am I going to die... in my own Domain?
The irony was almost funny. Almost.
His vision began to blur. The spears grew closer. And in that moment between heartbeats, a revolving lantern of memories flooded his mind.
[Flashback - Training Ground, Location Unknown]
Luffy sat cross-legged on a stone platform, sharing sake with his two masters. The background was hazy, details obscured by the memory's dreamlike quality—but the two figures beside him were crystal clear.
Buggy the Clown sat to his right, no longer the cowardly pirate of East Blue but a figure of overwhelming presence. His posture was straight, authoritative. This was "Lord Buggy"—the Yonko-level monster who'd taught Luffy the true nature of Devil Fruits.
To his left sat Silvers Rayleigh, the Dark King, who'd spent two years drilling Haki into Luffy's skull and body.
Buggy raised his sake bowl, fixing the young pirate with an intense stare. "Luffy. Can you do it?"
"Hm?" Luffy tilted his head, mouth full of meat.
"The second half of the Grand Line—the New World—is beyond anything you've faced." Buggy's voice was grave, carrying the weight of experience. "The enemies there are monsters. True monsters. Can you conquer that sea?"
Luffy swallowed, then placed his signature straw hat on his head. The gesture was unconscious, reflexive—something he did whenever he needed to speak from his heart.
His grin was pure and uncomplicated. "I've never thought about ruling anything. The Pirate King isn't the strongest person in the world." His eyes shone with absolute conviction. "The Pirate King is the FREEST person on the seas! And that's what I'm gonna be!"
For a moment, both Buggy and Rayleigh froze.
In Luffy's laugh, in the way his smile reached his eyes, they saw the ghost of Gol D. Roger. The same unshakeable will. The same impossible dream delivered with such sincerity that it became inevitable.
Rayleigh's eyes misted. Buggy looked away, expression unreadable.
"Shanks..." Buggy's voice was quiet, almost wistful. "I wish I'd met this boy before you did." He trailed off, leaving something important unsaid.
Then he shook his head and changed topics, his tone returning to that of a teacher. "Luffy. My researchers have developed something based on the Gomu Gomu no Mi (Gum-Gum Fruit)—an injection that can assist you in manifesting your Domain even without reaching Liberation naturally."
He held up a vial of crimson liquid, its surface swirling with strange patterns.
"But remember this, and remember it well." Buggy's eyes locked onto Luffy's. "In this world, only Devil Fruits can override everything. Haki has no place in the new era."
[Return to Present]
The memory snapped away, and Luffy's eyes cleared.
The black spears were inches from his skin, about to pierce him from every angle and turn him into a gruesome pincushion. Death was less than a heartbeat away.
But Luffy's expression was no longer one of fear.
His eyes burned with determination. With understanding. With absolute resolve.
He opened his mouth and screamed the words Buggy had taught him—the declaration that would reshape the world's understanding of power:
"IN THIS WORLD, ONLY DEVIL FRUITS CAN OVERRIDE EVERYTHING! HAKI HAS NO PLACE IN THE NEW ERA!"
The effect was immediate and devastating.
Doflamingo staggered as if physically struck. The aura radiating from his body flickered and weakened like a candle in a storm. He felt it—felt another third of his core value being ripped away, absorbed into Luffy's Domain.
"No... impossible!" Doflamingo gasped, falling to one knee.
Luffy's body exploded in size.
Ten meters tall. Then fifteen. Blood vessels and veins bulged across his crimson skin like cables. His muscles compressed and refined under the pressure of absorbed power, becoming dense as stone. Steam poured from his skin.
"Gomu Gomu no Kong Gatling!"
Two fists materialized above Doflamingo—each one the size of Dressrosa's palace district, each one wrapped in Armament Haki so dense it appeared as solid black metal.
From Doflamingo's perspective on the ground, he couldn't see the edges of those fists. They filled his entire field of vision, blotting out the crimson sky of the Domain.
And despite their impossible weight and size, Luffy wielded them with perfect ease.
BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM—
The first barrage shattered the Soul-Severing Spears like twigs, sweeping away the prison of Haki-infused death. The spears exploded into white fragments that dissolved into nothingness.
Then the fists turned toward their true target.
"You remnants of God's enemies!" Doflamingo screamed, even as he summoned a final defense. "The D Clan should have been erased from history eight hundred years ago!"
His massive white wave rose one last time, carrying the dregs of his three-color Haki in a final act of defiance.
But it wasn't enough. It could never be enough.
With the Chikara Chikara no Mi blessing each punch with one hundred thousand tons of force, every strike from Luffy carried the weight of a collapsing mountain. Combined with the sheer size of the Kong Gatling's fists, the power was beyond comprehension.
CRASH.
The first layer of white strings shattered.
CRASH.
The second layer crumbled.
CRASH. CRASH. CRASH.
Layer after layer of defense peeled away like the skin of an onion, until finally—
The fists reached Doflamingo's body.
The first punch shattered his Armament Haki completely, stripping away the protective coating. The second punch broke three ribs and collapsed a lung. The third caved in his shoulder. The fourth—
The Heavenly Demon didn't scream. Even as his body was pulverized, even as bones splintered and organs ruptured, Donquixote Doflamingo refused to give his enemies the satisfaction of his pain.
He was pressed into the ground like an insect. Blood sprayed with each impact—from his mouth, his nose, his ears. His internal organs were crushed and reformed by the Ito Ito no Mi (String-String Fruit), only to be crushed again immediately.
Luffy didn't know how many punches he threw.
Ten? A hundred? A thousand? Ten thousand? A hundred thousand?
The numbers lost meaning. Time lost meaning. There was only the rhythmic percussion of fists meeting flesh, of bones breaking and reforming, of one man's will trying to utterly erase another from existence.
For Ace. For Law. For Lami. For Camie. For everyone you've hurt!
Each name fueled another hundred punches. The assault continued until Luffy's arms burned with exhaustion, until his voice was hoarse from screaming, until the ground beneath Doflamingo had been beaten into a crater dozens of meters deep.
Finally—finally—Luffy pulled back for one last strike.
"GOMU GOMU NO KONG GUN!"
His right fist swelled to its absolute limit, compressing rubber and muscle and willpower into a single point. The shadow of the attack enveloped what remained of Doflamingo—a broken, bloody figure that barely resembled a human anymore.
The fist fell.
BOOOOOOOM.
The entire Domain shattered.
The alien space cracked like glass, fractures spreading across the crimson sky as reality itself rejected the level of force being applied. The dimensional barrier between Luffy's Domain and the real world couldn't contain the impact.
When the light cleared and the dust settled, Doflamingo lay in the ruins.
Half his head was simply gone—obliterated by the final punch. His body was twisted at unnatural angles, more broken than whole. The Ito Ito no Mi tried valiantly to weave repairs, but even a Devil Fruit had limits.
The Heavenly Demon's remaining eye stared sightlessly at the sky.
Donquixote Doflamingo—former Celestial Dragon, Shichibukai, King of Dressrosa, and Joker of the Underworld—had been utterly defeated before the eyes of the world.
Monkey D. Luffy stood over the broken body, chest heaving with exhaustion, fists still smoking from the assault.
For the first time in eight hundred years, the D Clan had publicly defeated the self-proclaimed "Gods" in single combat.
The age of Haki supremacy had ended.
The age of Devil Fruit mastery had begun.
And standing at the center of it all, bloodied but unbroken, was the boy who would be Pirate King.
