It's done. With the Epilogue over, [Be a Guiding Star] is officially done.
I still can't believe I'm here. I mean, it was practically over 5 months of near-daily uploads. It's been going on for so long that writing this fanfic's been integrated into my life. I might be slammed by work, or I might be starving after a day's work too long, but there would always be at least one chapter.
And so it feels kinda weird to be bidding it farewell. I'll suddenly have way more hours in my days, and it'll definitely take some getting used to.
Anyway,
It's been a pleasure to write this story for all of you. It was stressful at times, and I've spent way too long surfing through the internet for research for some random fanfic I started on a whim, but it's been fulfilling work.
It's not perfect; not by any means. I admit that having Cinderella Gray be a completed work definitely helped as a scaffold to keep this story somewhat coherent, and even then there are some cracks I just couldn't fix at the time. I definitely wish Star's little stint in America lasted a bit longer, and I would've loved to delve more into Rudolf's backstory.
But even if I want to change a few things in hindsight, I'm satisfied. I'll leave this fanfic as it is—a little memoriam of the five months I spent, immortalized in this website, for better and for worse.
More than that, however, the one I want to thank the most is you.
To everyone who's gotten this far, who has stuck around with this story despite all the twists and turns,
Thank you. Truly. Every single of your comments had kept me going, and it was always a pleasure to see everyone theorizing and having fun alongside me. Even if we are separated by distance and time and language and borders, for at least a little while, we could gather together. And it's undoubtedly an experience I'll cherish.
This isn't the end for me, of course. I have a few random stories in my storage; one about Persona and another about Honkai/Genshin/Star Rail, but they're far from being remotely complete. I even still have my incomplete fic about VTubers. I don't know if I'll ever come around to finishing them, but maybe I will someday. Please look forward to it.
