Chapter 160 - Chapter 160

Your father... Carl rubbed his temples. It's not that he was unaware, but the Tree of Life, originally the eggshell of Mew, evolved into a crystalline tree-like entity. Although it coexists with Mew, it actually maintains a connection with all Pokémon.

Whenever there are significant changes within Pokémon populations, such as regional variations (like the difference between fire-breathing Vulpix in one area and ice-forming Vulpix in another), species extinction and revival (like ancient Pokémon being revived with rock attributes through fossil technology), or the birth of new forms (like shiny Pokémon or the revival of the legendary beasts forming a new tribe), the Tree of Life automatically updates its records.

The World Tree perfectly duplicates this data, granting it a deeper understanding of Pokémon than any trainer, legendary Pokémon, or even the Pokémon themselves. N's unique heritage was also recorded in the system—he was the first instance of a human and Pokémon hybrid.

"Is he still alive?" N's voice trembled slightly.

Carl remained silent for a moment. For N, the truth was more vital than life or death—he needed to confirm he wasn't abandoned.

"Your father was the true founder of Team Plasma."

"The true founder?" N latched onto the key term.

This meant Ghetsis wasn't the original founder. Carl continued, "Some of the Seven Sages knew. Your father was Ghetsis's brother, and he created the original concept of an ethereal paradise."

"A sanctuary for abandoned Pokémon?" Grace interjected suddenly.

"Exactly," Carl nodded. "N's parents grew up together. N's father watched as a Ralts evolved into a Gardevoir, and they became deeply connected. Gardevoir often helped wild Pokémon, which moved N's father. When he expanded the family business, he established a Pokémon sanctuary."

"But there was an unexpected turn," Carl looked at N, "Your mother couldn't stay with you."

This caused quite a stir in your father's family. Marrying a Gardevoir was one thing, but having a child was unbelievable.

For this reason, your father's family sealed all information about him.

Later, he and Gardevoir chose to live in seclusion, raising you in the process.

Though they didn't know, having a child meant Gardevoir's departure.

Carl paused, giving N some time to process this.

In fact, everyone in the Alliance had access to this information.

Coming from a prominent family, growing up with Gardevoir, and eventually marrying her—all of this seemed relatively normal.

The only unusual part was that Gardevoir became pregnant.

N's father's family couldn't accept this, which was understandable.

Marriage could be explained as a spiritual companionship, but pregnancy implied a union between human and Pokémon, which indeed seemed scandalous.

Yet N's parents never separated; they chose to live in seclusion.

Such a relationship is truly enviable.

N took a deep breath.

Carl's brief words made him feel the deep affection between his parents.

At least, his father didn't abandon him and his mother, thinking he was a monster.

"Did my father abandon me because my mother died giving birth to me?" N asked in a hoarse voice.

"Wait, did I say your father didn't want you?"

"You mean, my father was willing to have me?"

"Probably, since you are your mother's legacy."

"Probably?" N stood still, Carl's words hard to digest.

"Your father had no other option," Carl said with respect. "After your mother passed away, he was so grief-stricken that he soon followed her."

"Before he died, he entrusted you to his most trusted brother, Ghetsis."

N was utterly unprepared for this outcome. Complex emotions surged within him. His father had been by his mother's side until his birth? After his mother passed, his father succumbed to grief...

Even so, his father arranged a place for him.

So the rumors about N's Pokémon birth... Tori pondered.

Such rumors were never heard elsewhere, only in the region where the legend of Team Plasma's leader circulated. Now it seems there might be truth to it.

"That's right," Carl nodded. "Many people knew about Gardevoir's pregnancy back then."

"The news spread slowly, but without concrete evidence, it eventually became an urban legend."

Carl sighed. "Actually, your parents were misunderstood."

"Their bond was purely spiritual. Your father was originally going to marry a human."

"Your mother's pregnancy involved several mythical Pokémon and a first-tier deity."

These words left everyone stunned.

Lugia suddenly became interested. "Are you saying a deity was involved in the conception of a human?"

Thinking of this, Lugia was secretly delighted. This should stop others from mocking her as the only deity with a family!

For a long time, this had been a source of criticism among other deities. Having a family seemed to lower her status. If not for her strength and divine role, she might have been the subject of gossip.

Other first-tier deities were unique.

If there were another Lugia, it would certainly come from a parallel universe, not of the original world. But now that all worlds have merged, even Rayquaza has siblings, so no one mentions Lugia's situation anymore.

But knowing someone had offspring without external aid would be a huge deal to her!

"Are you saying my mother became pregnant with me because of some mythical Pokémon and a first-tier deity?" N stared at Carl in disbelief.

Not just him, even mythical Pokémon like Hoopa and others like Cynthia wore the same expression. The idea that someone's birth was related to deities, and not just one, seemed too outrageous.

"That's correct," Carl confirmed. "Otherwise, how do you think the odds of such a rare pregnancy happened to you? Moreover, your mother was only in a spiritual relationship."

Everyone was puzzled. The probability of Gardevoir becoming pregnant was one in a billion, and with the influence of at least two mythical Pokémon and one first-tier deity, how exaggerated could that probability be?

"Wait, don't you think there's a problem with that statement?" May couldn't resist interjecting. "Those are mythical Pokémon! People from my hometown might never see even a third-tier deity in their lifetime!"

Everyone secretly admired her courage.

"Is it hard to encounter them?" Carl smiled, "What if I told you someone could see all the mythical and legendary Pokémon in a region within a year, would you believe it?"

May looked puzzled, and the others shared the same expression.

"Do I look like a fool?" May was a bit annoyed. Although Tori often said she was carefree and had a whimsical mind, being treated like this wasn't pleasant.

"Carl, that statement is indeed excessive," Cynthia shook her head.
