Keifer's POV
I don't know why, but Jay was clinging to me as if something bad would happen to me.
We were all roasting marshmallows by the fire.
Jay sat beside me, quietly watching me while holding my hand.
"Do you want some?" I asked.
"Nah, I don't feel like it," she refused.
For the first time, she refused to have a marshmallow. Did something happen to her again?
I needed to know.
"Please take one bite. I'll eat mine only after that," I insisted.
"Okay then," she replied and took a bite.
"Was it nice?" I asked.
"Yeah," she replied.
"Let's have a drink now," Ci-n said.
"Yeah." Everyone agreed.
Jay's POV
When Kuya got a call from Honey, he went back to his apartment.
Freya was sitting beside Edrix. Ella was beside Aries ,Mica was beside Calix,and Rakki was beside Ci-n.
"Guys, let's have a drink now," Ci-n said.
"Ahhh." Everyone agreed.
Everyone took glasses and poured alcohol.
Keifer offered me some, but I really didn't feel like drinking, so I refused again.
"What happened? Why are you refusing everything?" Keifer asked.
"Nothing, I just don't feel like it," I replied.
"Only one sip, please," he insisted again, like before.
"No, I really don't feel li—"I couldn't finish my sentence when he cut me off.
"Jay, if there is something, let me know. I'm always here with you," he said.
I couldn't hold back my tears. I excused myself from everyone and went to the bathroom.
I looked at myself in the mirror, and tears started flowing from my eyes.
Just then, someone knocked on the door.
"Jay, are you crying?" Keifer asked from the other side of the door.
I turned on the tap, washed my face, and then quickly opened the door.
"No, I was just washing my face," I replied.
"Let's go, everyone is waiting," I added, pulling him with me.
When we reached there, everyone was waiting for us.We both sat down.
"Come on, guys. We've had enough of drinking. Now let's play Truth and Dare," Ci-n said.
"Okay, let's play," I said with a fake smile.
"Hey, little sis, how are you?" someone suddenly asked from behind me.I turned to see—it was Percy.
"Did you just come?" I asked.
"Yeah," he replied.
"You are always late," I said back and hit his arm.
"Ahh! You look like a little kitten, but you're dangerous," he said while rubbing his arm, then he sat beside me.
David spun the bottle.
The bottle stopped in front of Freya.
"I'm not playing," she protested.
"If you're here, then you have to play," Percy said.
She just made a face.
Rory said, "Alright, who's going first?"
"I'll start. Truth or dare?" I asked her.
Freya replied, "Hmm… truth."
Me: "Okay, what's the most embarrassing thing you've ever done in front of your crush?"
Freya: "Uh… I once tripped in front of him and face-planted into a trash can…"
Drew: laughs "Haha, that's epic!"
David spun the bottle, and this time it stopped in front of Yuri.
Felix: "Okay, truth or dare?"
Yuri: "Hmm… dare!"
Felix: "I dare you to sing a silly song in front of us, like a karaoke performance!"
Yuri: "Ahh, what kind of dare is this?"
Me: "You chose dare, so you have to do it."
Yuri: "Okay, okay… ahm ahm…" sings "I'm a little teapot, short and stout… here is my handle, here is my spout…"
Blaster: laughs "That was hilarious!"
(Everyone laughed.)
David spun the bottle again.This time, it stopped in front of me.
I felt nervous—what if they made me do something embarrassing like before?
Keifer turned to me and asked,
"What's your biggest fear?"
"Fear of losing someone closest to me," I replied with watery eyes.
I wiped my tears quickly and tried to focus back on the game.
This time, Felix spun the bottle.
I could feel Keifer's gaze on me; he was still staring, even though the bottle kept spinning.
The bottle stopped in front of Keifer, but his eyes were still on me.
"Your turn," Ci-n said.Keifer snapped out of it and quickly turned to Ci-n.
"Truth or dare?" Ci-n asked.
Keifer: "Truth."
Me: "Should I ask?"
Keifer: "Yeah, only you."
Me: "What's the most painful memory you have about your family?"
Keifer paused and looked down."When I thought my mother had died… I felt like my world was shattered. I had to choose between giving Keiren's responsibility to my father or using Mumma's entire life savings. And it was a really tough decision…"
The group fell silent.I reached out and held his hand gently.
Felix spun the bottle…And again, it stopped in front of me.
Me: "Why only me?".
Yuri: "Truth or dare?"
Me: "Again… truth."
Yuri: "I dare you to write a letter to someone you've hurt in the past. Apologize for your actions. You don't have to send it, just write it."
I took a piece of paper and a pen, and began writing. After finishing, I folded the paper and placed it in front of them.
"Don't open it now. Open it only after we complete the game," I said.
Yuri spun the bottle, and it stopped in front of Ci-n.The brat.
Yuri: "Do a chicken dance in front of us for one minute."
Ci-n: "Really? Why me?"
Me: "Do it, or I'll make you drink a mixture of soy sauce and mango juice."
Ci-n: "Okay, okay… I will!"
He got up and started dancing like a fool.We all laughed at his antics.
Then I grabbed the bottle and spun it.This time, it stopped in front of Calix.
Me: "Truth or dare?"
Calix: "Truth."
Drew: "What's your favourite love song and why?"
Calix: "Perfect'' Is my favourite song. This song reminds me of a special moment or person in my life."
"Ahhhh!"Everyone started teasing him.
(I was pretending to be happy through all of this… but maybe Keifer noticed it.)
