"Uhhhhh, Is it morning already?"
A man who looks to no older than 80 muses as he stretches in his bed that glimmers under the morning light.
Fffft!
Creak! Creak!
Fwop, fwop!
The sounds of a heavy cloth being tossed away gently echoed through the air as minor creaking and soft pouting sounds followed.
The old man who stood had a simple slicked back ghost white hair, dark brown irises, a fair physique and standing at 6 feet tall.
It was none other than...
Bzzzt! Bzzzt! Bzzzt!
"Uhhh! Why so early in the morning?"
The old man grumbled as he gently bent down to pick his phone.
"Oh God, I if this is Hank, I swear that-"
The old man said as he then clicked against the power button of his phone to turn it on while it stilled buzzed and when it opened the person who was calling him was...
"Huh? Catherine?"
Boop!
[Uh-uh Professor Hoisting?]
"Yes, Cathy what is it this time? Is the dosage of painkillers over alrea-"
[No sir, this is an important matter.]
Catherine had interrupted him mid-speech especially when she knew the consequences of displaying such disrespect which meant...
"How big is the issue we're talking about Cathy?" Prof. Hoisting mused at Cathy.
[...Its... a monetary issue and it's a big one at that.]
Catherine stated with a hint of refusal in her voice.
....
For a moment, Prof. Hoisting stayed silent as the call stayed on.
And from Catherine's side, she thought that he might contemplating on how careless Hank was for not calling, but in reality....
"Alright, tell everyone to get ready for 'the' meeting and tell Hank that that place better spotless by the time I arrive."
[Alright sir.]
Boooop!
Catherine reassured as he then quickly taped the 'end call' icon on his phone.
"Huhhhhh!"
Hoisting let out a long and exhausted sigh as he then looked at the welcome carpet on his doorway and looked at the newspaper that sat on it.
"Huuu, what's on the news today?"
Step, step, step, step!
Wfttt!
Flutter, flutter!
His footsteps echoed softly as he walked towards the welcome carpet and picked up the newspaper to read today headliners.
"What do we have hear...."
"Uhhhh, rubbish, corruption, hopelessness, foolishness, brainwashing scheme, pyramid scheme, uh... what do we-"
And suddenly he paused, as his eyes landed on a certain title that piqued his interest.
His dotted left and right as he vigorously scanned what seemed to be the most interesting article he had seen yet and once he was done...
Ding, dong!
"Hello sir, your coffee's here!"
A sharp gentle feminine voice lingered to him from behind the door as he then hurriedly walked towards it, opened picked his coffee and closed door swiftly, but not rudely as the female waiter walked away as if used to this.
Step, step, step, step!
Creak!
Flutter, flutter!
SIIIIIP!
"Ahhhh! Boy, do I love a good coffee in the morning."
Prof. Hoisting exclaimed warmly as he sipped the hot coffee once more before looking at the article he had been reading once before.
And for a moment, silence lingered in the atmosphere as Hoisting's once warm smile turned to one of pure solemn seriousness.
And after a little while longer,
Beep, beep!
A beeping sound broke the silence and snapped him out of his maze of thoughts as then sighed and tossed the newspaper into a small bin that was near the door.
"I'm tryna have a one-week holiday! One week! But no..., these idiots decide to cause me headaches instead and now bills...?! What the f*** am I? Some manager, no, I'm a professor dammit!"
Chhk, Chhk!
Woosh!
Slam!
He grumbled once more as he then entered the bathroom to freshen himself up.
Meanwhile in the reception area of the hotel...
"Hey Mira."
"Yah?"
"Did you see the article in today's newspaper?"
"No, Mandy you know I'm too busy dealing with all the clients calls every now and then, but as of right now... I'm free to listen so buzz me."
Two ladies who looked to be in their 20s one a black the other a white.
The black had a smooth shiny caramel skin, thin pink glistened lips that were decorated with a pinch of lip gloss and a dark brown liner, golden brown eyes that glistened effortlessly in the morning light, her physique was a blend of skinniness and curves that made her appearance all the well more attractive than some of even the visitors.
The white however, had smooth peach skin, red cherry lips that glistened with help of a little lip gloss and the sun's radiant light, her physique just slightly curvier than the others, but truthfully, they were both stunning in their own ways.
Their names as suggested are Mira Wattson and Mandy Coral.
"Well, as I was saying, in the news there was a really interesting article today." Mandy said with a cheerful tone to her voice.
"Mhm, and what was so interesting that you had to interrupt me during my morning tea break?" Mira mused at Mandy as she sipped her tea.
"Well, Mira did you happen to know that Shekela just had another vision and, on the streets, yesterday."
"Pufft! Cough, cough! Hhhhh! What-what did you cough s-say?" Mira mused as she momentarily chocked on her tea with caused to become a little shot as she gasped for some air.
"Yap, the article said that she was walking amongst the public of Morocco in some district and all of a sudden she was convulsing rapidly as she started muttering words in bits and of the many words the people could hear before an ambulance arrived was 'prophecy child'."
....
For a moment, there was nothing, but dead silence that hovered in the air as the two women looked at each other.
MIra was utterly dumbfounded at the statement.
"Wait... Shekela the Shekela she's the one whose made the prophecy?!"
"Yap, thought the people who were closet to her couldn't hear the words she was saying the obe out the many she mumbled that was almost clear enough to hear was 'prophecy child'."
"But like... aren't her prophecies like 90 percent wrong most of the time?" Mira mused as she finally caught her breath.
"Yah..., but doesn't that like ring a bell for you?"
Mandy painfully exclaimed as she looked at Mira with a devious facial expression.
"Huh? What do you-"
Mira mused as she suddenly paused and looked at Mandy whose expression worsened to the point it looked a hardy plastered look on her face.
"No.... don't you even think about it!" Mira after short moment to analyse the current situation finally understood what the purpose Mandy's actions were.
"Oh c'mon... you know that today might be the day."
"No, that meeting was just a coincidence and out of pure unwanted luck." Mira said as she then stormed off to grap another cup of tea since he's had gone cold.
"You know that you can't deny the word so I'll be waiting for you to accept you're faaate!"
Mandy shouted at Mira as she swiftly turned her head to face Mandy and give mocking look before turning it back and going to the staff.
Mandy looked at her friend disappear and for a moment she seemed lost in thought.
Could she be thinking of the thing they just talked about?
Or maybe sone things she had in mind?
Or she was just going through her schedule for the day?
Ding, ding!
"Hello, reception?"
An old masculine voice called out to Mandy which brought her back to reality.
"Yes sir, and how may I.... oh it's you sir?"
"Hahaha..., not happy to see your own distant relative, my dear?"
Prof. Hoisting responded with a gentle laugh in his voice.
Meanwhile Mandy's all welcoming looks faded in an instant as she looked up at the professor with a hint of displeasure in her eyes.
"Well, why would I?"
"Because I'm your distant cousin and family's supposed to look out for each other, right?"
"No, especially when it's you and how are we related again, Ludrick?"
Mandy mused with a plastic smile on her face and this had of somewhat effect on him as he then gave her slight knuckle on her head.
"Owwww, why'd you do that?" Manday said as she rubbed the middle of her head with her left hand.
"You know that your as a difficult person as I am, right?"
"Yah,Yah just state you're business and leave me be."
"Oh right, you're leaving to where so that it can schedule for you an available tour bus?"
"No, Mandy I'm going back."
Professor Hoisting exclaimed with a solemn look on his face as Mandy's also darkened.
"Tsk, I know you're just l-lying where is that you wanna-"
"Hmhmhm, do not worry Mandy."
Prof. Hoisting chuckled as he gently rubbed his hand on Mandy's brown hair with a comforting look in his eyes.
Mandy didn't flinch nor did she react in any she just froze as Ludrick then removed his hand and left the reception area slowly.
Drip, drip, drip!
The sounds of light drops if water softly echoed as we now that she had began to cry for the dear old man.
'Da-damn you old man, if you hadn't done that... I could've stopped you.'
She thought as Mira saw her break down from a distance and immediately ran to her sideboard comfort her.
