Chapter 14

Nicolas POV

I immediately went online, I browsed brands with the most beautiful logos, and their products. Her birthday was tomorrow. I didn't even prepare a gift for her.

It took me about three hours to find a product I think she would like. It was a Hello kitty branded smart watch. I remember her dressed in a Hello Kitty branded top five years ago. She was just looking pink but cute. I remember how Elliot laughed at her look and got slapped.

He still dislikes her, I believe it's the reason he isn't attending the birthday party. Well the invitation is now mine, I could imagine myself smiling already.

The purchase was to be delivered two days later. I don't have such time, I contacted a friend, he was also a werewolf and knew how to get the job done. Now the purchase was going to be delivered 5am in the Levites Pack

I selected the clothes I was to wear to the party tomorrow, it was a blue tuxedo. I bet she was going to notice me, especially if I stand out with this color. The theme colors of the event are pink, red, green and gold.

By the time I was done, it was 8:40pm. I went to freshen up, after I was done it was 9:01pm. I was set to go to bed when I heard a soft knock at the door.

I could tell who it was by the soft steps. I went and opened it. As expected, it was Flora and she had two medium sized cupcakes in her hand.

I invited her in together with her nanny who came with two glasses of freshly squeezed orange juice.

I was a little uncertain, but let them in. As I entered, Flora offered me one of her cupcakes, which I didn't reject after taking a bite. I sipped the orange juice.

And it tasted wonderful. Flora then chimed in, I used to take this when I'm happy, And I want to share with you.

I was touched by her words and a pleasing smile marred my face. If only Viona was this nice.

"How old are you?" I ask her.

"I'll be eight by tomorrow," She replied.

"What...Tomorrow's your birthday?" I was surprised, then felt pity. She was such a cute girl but her father was on a business trip and couldn't celebrate her birthday with her.

"What do you want as a gift, I'll get it for you?" I ask.

"hmm...I don't really have anything in mind that I especially want" Her reply was so humble that I felt hurt.

"Okay I'll get you something by tomorrow" I promised.

She just smiled with blushing ears. The nanny behind her gave me a look of gratitude and mumbled a thank you. I just nodded in response, though I have met Flora before and didn't have a very positive first impression of her. I now see her true nature.

Her humble nature made her stand out among the other heirs her age I have met. But she isn't the only one to stand out, Viona especially stood out for her courage and pride while Flora stood out for her meekness and humble nature they were just two opposites of each other.

'Why am I even comparing two different people?' I thought to myself and just dismissed it.

We finished the cupcakes and chatted for a while, before Flora's nanny called her to go to bed which she wished me good night before leaving.

After she left it was already 10:22pm, I guess it was also past her bedtime.

I laid and closed my eyes. After a few minutes, I suddenly felt like someone was standing beside me. I still kept my eyes shut and by the time I felt the presence disappear, I opened my eyes. The first time I noticed was the open window which I already shut before going to shower. I went towards the window and looked outside, but there was no one on site despite my very clear vision.

I then went back to sleep.

The sound of the alarm woke me up a few hours later. By the time I opened my eyes, it was already 5:37 am. I freshened up and went out. At most Viona parties would be held at 7pm.

I hurried to a department store, I bought some balloons, a party hat and a medium sized cake.

I went home, and luckily Flora was still asleep. The nanny and I set up things, and just when we were done two hours later, Flora woke up looking for her nanny.

On seeing the surprise and her name on the cake she was so excited and ran to my side and gave me a tight hug. I was surprised but returned it.

The day was eventful, and before evening I arrived at the Levites Pack.

The party soon commenced, As expected of the princess of a leading pack, She dressed gorgeous and walked elegantly into the hall. Her blue corset ball gown glowed beautifully under the light, she immediately became the event.

She was a princess showered with love by both her parents, everything came to her on a platter of gold. A good name and happy family lifestyle befitting a princess.

I couldn't help but wonder about Flora who was the complete opposite. The party was like any high class neighborhood party, just rich kids playing around. It was almost at the end of the party that I realized Mirage was nowhere to be found. Of course we met in both packs and company gatherings, but his unattending this party left me puzzled.

At the end of the party while the ritual was ongoing, I had a phone call with Flora who expressed her loneliness. There wasn't much to do here anywhere so I excused myself and left before the party ended.

When I arrived home, Flora was very excited to see me. I quickly shared some treats I bought on my way back with her.

The next day

From the rumors spread, The princess almost drowned after requesting the ritual should be done in the water.

Some said she deserved it, but who was I to judge, I just played the neutral party and observed.

After a few days, it was rumoured she got her Wolf and it was a silver fur wolf, a rare species even among the werewolves, the last seen silver wolf was the first Luna ever made.

She received admiration and praise. I became occupied with Flora, spending less and less time on other external happenings.

After a few Months, my Father returned and so did Mr Smith. The business deal was finalized and they were partners in a very long term contract.

Upon his return, Flora was so excited, but turned sad when she was asked to go back home. I could understand her frustration as her only company was her nanny.

Unwilling, she bid her farewell as we continued our separate lives, but still kept in touch.

I continued working at the company and just as I expected, the person plagiarizing my work was fired and I walked all the way to the managing director at a young age.
