==============================

Ezio skimmed past through the status pannel.

Stats up, strength up, and one seal broken.

But the one thing he actually wanted was still locked.

He sighed and looked up in the air,

"So levelling up, still didn't unlock the gate feature...great and here I thought that it would be easy"

Before he could complain further, his Arctic buzzed frantically on his wrist, waking him up from his daydream.

He glanced at the time.

[ 10:34 AM ]

Ezio froze.

"...Oh crap"

He had forgotten.

Breakfast.

His parents and sister.

He was so dead.

Without thinking any further, he applied mana on his legs and bolted through the dense trees, sprinting over the roots and slipping past the overgrown branches.

Still the checkpost was far away from his location.

His breath came in gasp as he ran and ran through the thick vegetation, his lungs burned as he ran past some animals.

It took him twenty minutes, but the mettalic smell and human voices finally reached his ears.

The trees parted.

The tall iron checkpoint gate came into view, along with the two guards standing on the watchtower.

Ezio slowed down, catching his breath as he approached.

One of the guards on the ground spotted him first and straightened.

Suddenly.

A clear, crisp and respectful voice called out to him.

"Young master Ezio, here!".

Ezio followed the familiar voice and stepped out of the shade of the trees.

A sleek black limousine waited by the cobble stone path.

From the rear window, Sara leaned out, waving at him with that calm-but-not-really-calm smile of hers.

Ezio smiled back… while internally thinking:

Yes, I'm dead....absolutely dead.

He opened the black door and slid inside.

The moment he sat down, Sara's hazel eyes swept over his torn blood-stained clothes, eyeing the dirt, and the smell of smoke that clung to his body.

She didn't even blink.

"How many Abysswalkers, young master?"

Hearing her, Ezio groaned softly.

Of course she knew. One guard's report and she could probably write a whole goddamn book.

"Just three," he muttered.

Sara stared at him for a second longer, her expression unreadable before his eyes.

Then she sighed softly. "Young master, you have some explaining to do. But first, your parents are waiting for you at breakfast."

Her eyes dropped to his ruined clothes.

"And before we go home, we're stopping near a hotel. You will clean up there, quickly. Here."

She handed him a fresh folded outfit and then placed a small black box beside him.

"Tell Master and Mistress you went out to buy the Trüffel-Torte."

Ezio blinked at the box… then at her.

"…Yeah. You're probably right."

He facepalmed himself lightly. "Good save, Sara."

He slumped back in his seat and added, a bit helplessly,

"Please, at least warn me when you're tracking my location."

Sara didn't even pretend to feel guilty.

"I am assigned for your protection, young master. If you had not exited the forest in ten minutes…"

Her calm voice hammered in his ears just a little.

"…I would then have proceded to burned the entire area myself."

Ezio stared at her.

"Of course you would," he muttered.

The limousine then pulled away from the forest road.

_______

Ezio stepped out from the car, freshly showered and freshly dressed in white shirt and khaki trousers.

His raven black hair catching the gleam of sunlight from the limousine's window and his red eyes shining like ambers under the streaks.

The Winterborne Estate rose ahead of them, while the metallic gates opened.

Ezio slightly leaned towards Sara, and whispered.

"You didn't tell dad about this, right?".

Sara only gave him a tiny, wicked smile.

"You should find out that for yourself, young master."

The car stopped.

And Ezio froze.

"Ooh gods!..That's not fair Sara".

But she was already out of the car.

He swallowed his words and opened the doors and started walking towards the corridors.

He walked through the long glass arched hallway, every step echoing inside of his head.

At the door to the dining room, he muttered under his breath:

"Here we go…"

Haaa!!!

He pushed it open.

Three figures were waiting.

On the middle of the dining table, sat a handsome man with midnight raven coloured hair and red eyes, just like his.

Just besides him, was his mother with her faint purple hair catching the glint of sunlight, while her silver eyes sized Ezio from head to toe.

And sitting beside his mother was a young beautiful women with a darker shade of purple hair and red eyes just like his father.

His sister Amaryllis sat, legs crossed, chin in hand as she watched Ezio standing with a box in his hands.

Ezio tried a smile.

"Heeey, guys, Helvetia is a big place, isn't it?"

His father exhaled through his nose and pointed at the chair beside him.

"Sit here. Ezio."

Ezio obeyed instantly and dropped into the seat like a lost puppy.

His mother's gaze swept over him.

And his sister leaned forward, red eyes sparkling with amusement.

Without any moment of delay, Ezio unwrapped the ribbons and popped open the lid, took a spoon,

"Say aah—"

And shoved the piece of Trüffel-Torte straight into Amaryllis's mouth before she could say anything.

Ezio leaned in innocently.

"Isn't the dessert good, sis?"

Amaryllis froze, cheeks puffed, completely caught off guard as the rich chocolate melted on her tongue.

While, Ezio grinned triumphantly.

Their parents, seeing their tantrums just sighed.
