JASMINE'S POV
I stared at the men Louis had hired. As I assessed them, I felt that this would be enough to raid Kolton's place. Then I looked down at the guns in their hands and turned to look at Louis, who had a gun ready as well.
"I'm sure you understand why we have to take these measures," Louis told me as he presented me with the gun in his hand.
I nodded my head in understanding.
"Yeah, I get it," he said to him. Hopefully, things wouldn't get to the point of actually having to use the guns. But we had to take precautions and ensure that we were prepared.
"What about work? Will you be able to take a break from work?" I asked.
"Don't worry about it. I have it handled at least for today and tomorrow," he told me.
"Father?" I asked, a little confused, why he necessarily needed to communicate with his father.
"Yes. Oh, right, I forgot to tell you. My father has made me the acting CEO of the Carrington Group."
